The theoretical part of the thesis deals with various definitions describing this lexical phenomenon and with classification of collocations. A brief mention of the attitude to teaching collocations at schools is made, too. The subject of my bachelor´s study is an analysis of Spanish and Czech terminology in European legislative texts from the domain "Other sources od energy". My main goal was to create a terminological database of individual collocations, based on which the correctness and quality of Czech translations could be judged. The opening theoretical segment is dedicated to corpus linguistics. The discipline is explained and defined by a number of important terms, which I will be working with. The second segment on the parallel corpus focused on the subject of alternative energy primarily outlines the subject of alternative energy as a whole, deals with the EUR-Lex database from which I?ve drawn the legislative texts, describes the corpus development and my work with the ParaConc program. The third and last segment is strictly practical. The translations are analyzed and their correctness is judged in comparison with the validated terminology concerning the EU in the IATE database, in some cases with the assistance of Spanish-Czech dictionaries. A Spanish-Czech dictionary of the applied terms and collocations can be found in the attachment.
