The comparison of small and medium-sized enterprises in Czech Republic and France

This bachelor thesis is divided into two sections. The theoretical section describes the situation of small and medium-sized enterprises in Czech Republic and in France, their social and economic contribution, legal forms of business as well as the tax burden and the entrepreneurial environment in those economies in question. The second section deals with the practical application of theoretical knowledge to the enterprise VINICOLA Ltd which business activity is based on the import of attributive wines. After evaluation of all compared aspects, the proposition of possible strategy to strengthen the position on the market is presented.

Comparison of Java Web Frameworks

Cílem této práce je porovnání softwaru známého jako webové frameworky v prostředí Java platformy z pohledu architekta webové aplikace. Autor práce se pokusil o vytvoření vlastní metodiky pro porovnání architektury a základní funkcionality webových frameworků, která vychází z dostupné dokumentace, prezentací odborníků a zkušeností vývojářů. Porovnání architektury a funkcionality provedl na zástupcích požadavkem řízených a komponentově orientovaných frameworků ? Struts a JSF RI. Podstatnou částí práce je také porovnání vývoje vlastní internetové aplikace. Zde autor nastiňuje způsob práce s vývojovým prostředím a porovnává množství úkonů potřebných pro implementaci požadované funkcionality i pro každé rozšíření aplikace. V závěrečném zhodnocení obou typů architektury doporučuje vhodnost použití obou variant.

Práce je zaměřena na současné trendy v oblasti publikování informací na Internetu. Stručně informuje o vývoji značkovacích jazyků a zaměřuje se na současný trend popisu dokumentů zpřístupěných službou World Wide Web - na jazyk XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language). Cílem práce je porovnání tří specifikací XHTML a nastínějí jejich základních vlastností a odlišností.

Elektronická pošta - přehled služeb free-mailu a hostingu

Práce si klade za cíl seznámit se službami a funkcemi, které jsou dostupné při využívání bezplatného e-mailu (tzv. free mail) prostřednictvím webového rozhraní a jeho komerční verze (tzv. e mail hosting). Začátek bude věnován základnímu přehledu a typům přístupu ke schránce elektronické pošty, poté bude uveden základní výčet dostupných služeb spolu s jejich stručným popisem a tabulkovým porovnáním. Zvláštní ohled je brán na vytvoření celkového obrazu elektronické pošty, jakou je například problematika nevyžádané pošty, viry a spolehlivost. V závěru se pokusím nastínit budoucnost e-mailu a zhodnotit přínosy mé práce, ke kterým jsem dospěl.

Comparison of open source database systems(characteristics, limits of usage)

The goal of this work is to compare some chosen open source database systems (Ingres, PostgreSQL, Firebird, Mysql). First part of work is focused on history and present situation of companies which are developing these products. Second part contains the comparision of certain group of specific features and limits. The benchmark of some operations is its own part. Possibilities of usage of mentioned database systems are summarized at the end of work.

Comparison of open source database systems

Goal of this paper was to compare chosen open source database management systems from theoretical and practical point and assess their suitable use. For this comparison I chose MySQL, PostgreSQL and MonetDB database systems. Theoretical comparison involved licenses covering the systems, available support, supported platforms, usable interfaces and data types. In practical comparison I conducted basic installation and configuration in real environment and tested performance of execution of certain SQL queries. One of the aspects of performance testing was to determine the influence of data storing architecture on speed of execution of specific types of queries. Documentation available with the compared systems and official web pages of particular systems served as the main source for theoretical comparison. I conducted the practical part using the linux platform. To access the systems and for the SQL queries input I used the standard JDBC interface. As data for testing I used random data from Open Source Database Benchmark, which I ordered into two similar tables. I defined the test queries myself in order to compare the performance of database systems in whole and in particular fields. I've reached a conclusion that MySQL is suitable for corporate and stand-alone users thanks to wide support, choice of licenses and diversified spectrum of available interfaces and supported platforms. However, its performance in many fields including index creation and ordering of data was very poor in tested configuration. PostgreSQL can indeed discourage mostly corporate users by worse choice of commercial support and interfaces shipped with the system, but these problems are mostly compensated by active community, or third parties. The performance of PostgreSQL was outstanding, I find it suitable for larger data collections and it's fast even in cases when indexing of data didn't take place. MonetDB, as a not well-known while academically developed system, has little chance for a breakthrough outside its field of origin. Its column oriented storage of data proved convenient when selecting very small number of columns. Even without any indexation all test queries were executed with good speed. Individual chapters of the theoretical part are divided based on the compared systems. The practical part only consists of one chapter divided according to order of actions. At the end of each chapter there is evaluation of discovered facts.

Comparison of Java rich client frameworks

V úvodní části práce jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy a vytvořen přehled základních vlastností frameworků a rozdělení aplkací na typy vhodné k rozřazení frameworků. V hlavní části práce je uvedena analýza frameworků, které jsou určeny pro tvobu tlustého klienta v programovacím jazyce Java. Na konci práce je uveden přehled aplikací, ke kterým jsou jednotlivé frameworky vhodné.

Práce popisuje přímé zahraniční investice jako důležitou součást ekonomiky státu. Obsahuje definice, rozdělení, různé formy a druhy. Porovnává faktory ovlivňující příliv zahraničních investic do země a hodnotí jednotlivé ukazatele, které mají vliv na výši přílivu PZI jak z pohledu makroekonomického, tak i mikroekonomického. Prezentuje kladný ale i záporný vliv PZI na ekonomické ukazatele ? HDP, nezaměstnanost, produktivita, a další. Obsahuje porovnání konkurenceschopnosti na úrovni států Visegrádské čtyřky. Poskytuje informace o historickém vývoji a nastiňuje možný budoucí vývoj přílivu přímých zahraničních investic a jeho vlivu na ekonomiku České republiky, Maďarska, Polska a Slovenska.
