Comparison of the Drinking Regime and Alcohol Consumption of High School Students
NOVOTNÁ, Jitka
My work deals with the problem of alcohol consumption of high school and apprentice students. The goal of my work was to find out what drinks youths prefer and how much of it they drink daily. The next goal was to find out the alcohol consumption of high school and apprentice students. In this research I evaluated how often youths drink alcohol, at what age they first drank it and what their opinion is about its effect on human health. In the theoretical part of this work I dealt with a better drinking regime, different kinds of beverages and I evaluated different alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages according to their effects on human health. I have described different examples of diseases that are caused by overconsumption of alcohol and those that people with alcohol addiction suffer from. For extra interest I have described the origin of different beverages. In the research part I dealt with the drinking regime of high school and apprentice students. I found out what sweet and sugar free beverages students and apprentices drink and how much they drink daily. It also deals with differences in alcohol consumption between students and apprentices, if boys drink more alcohol than girls and if smokers drink more alcohol than non- smokers. To obtain the results I used questionnaires and gave them to students at high schools and apprentices at vocational schools in České Budějovice. The results were processed in MS Excel. The research confirmed all expected hypothesis. The first confirmed hypothesis was that apprentices drink alcohol more often than high school students. The next confirmed hypothesis was that the above mentioned group does not follow a correct drinking regime. The third confirmed hypothesis was that boys drink alcohol more often than girls. The hypothesis that expected that students and apprentices who smoke drink alcohol more often was also confirmed. The last confirmed hypothesis was, that youths prefers beverages with a content of sugar more than water and sugar free tea.
The habits of teen-agers (alcohol, drugs, smoking, gamblers,...)
SCHNEIDEROVÁ, Monika
Abstract In my thesis ``Habits of secondary school students{\crqq} (alcohol, drugs, smoking, gambling{\dots}) I dealt with the use of addictive substances by students in the 2nd year of secondary schools. The use of addictive substances by young people has become a topical issue. According to statistical data, the number of users of both legal and illegal substances has been growing every year. It is disturbing that addictive substances, such as alcohol, nicotine or illegal drugs, have been used by ever younger consumers. In the theoretical part I covered the period of adolescence, characteristic features of that period and behavior disorders that may occur. I also reviewed the individual types of drugs and their physical and mental effects on the organism. In the empirical part of the thesis my objective was to map the current situation in drug abuse at selected secondary schools in the towns of Rokycany and Tábor. The researched group consisted of 325 respondents. I used a questionnaire to investigate their family backgrounds, alcohol consumption, cigarette consumption and experience with other drugs, e.g. marihuana, hashish or ecstasy. 2 of the 3 formulated hypotheses were refuted and 1 hypothesis was confirmed. All results are shown in form of tables and diagrams. In the discussion I compared my results with other research papers dealing with the same topic. The biggest issue in the selected group of respondents was the smoking of cigarettes. According to my findings, education is a major factor in the consumption of the individual drugs. The consumption of alcohol, cigarettes and other drugs is higher among apprentices while the consumption among students of comprehensive secondary school is significantly lower.
Chosen social - pathologic phenomena on primary schools, dependecies - alcohol, smoking, drugs.
KOLAŘÍKOVÁ, Vladimíra
The bachelor thesis is to point out to social-pathologic effects and dependencies which appear as early as in primary schools. Firstly, I focused on social pathology and social-pathologic effects determination. I indicated factors which influence youngsters at primary schools; those factors could stem from their families, schools, peer groups and from media. Then, in the other parts of the thesis, I determined terms dependency, addiction, alcohol, smoking and drugs; I mentioned their history, kinds and effects. I undertook my research in two primary schools in Písek, which do not differ in number of students significantly, but they differ in their localities (they are in different suburbs), reputations and structures of students. My research objective was to find out the level of pupils{\crq} experience with dependencies. For data collecting I chose the quantitative method with questionnaire technique usage. The level of dependency experience and the king of dependency interference among boys and girls in the ninth grades of primary schools are the results of the thesis. On the grounds of the thesis results it comes out that better prevention and teacher-parent cooperation with the help of media and general public is more and more necessary. By preventative projects creation and by putting them into practice we all can help our adolescents in their most difficult period and adolescence such a period definitely is.

HLADÍKOVÁ, Lada
Bachelor thesis titled ?Possibilities of receptive music therapy in the treatment of alcohol and drug addiction? has a theoretical and empirical nature. My task was to find out whether would be receptive music therapy applied in a psychiatric hospital Cervený Dvur and if it would be helpful in the treatment in this facility. The theoretical part is aimed at linking music therapy with psychotherapy. It describes the problems of alcohol, non-alcohol drugs and their distribution. This section also focuses on the importance of music therapy and its types. The practical part is focused on my own experimental investigations related to application of music therapeutic program for a selected sample of clients. At the same time I did also monitor the response of professional staff to the ongoing experiment with six set of hypotheses that were subsequently identified based on analysis of data I did verify. Survey results confirm the feasibility of the music therapeutic program at the hospital Cervený Dvur.
Selected aspects of the therapy effectivenes in AT institutions
ŠPERLOVÁ, Zuzana
The bachelor thesis deals with the therapy of reliance on alcohol and its efficiency in biological, psychological and social aspects. The theoretical part deals with alcohol generally and with the basic conceptions connected with the reliance on alcohol. Further, in the theoretical part, the reliance on alcohol and its therapy is described. In greater detail, I turned to the therapy itself and to the description of the institutions dealing with the therapy of dependences. In the practical part, I chose the research of quality. I used the method of halfstandardized conversation with abstaining clients of AT institutions. As next research technique, I used the method of observation. I attended the session of the clients with reliance on alcohol in the programme of follow-up care in the social psycologic centre Arkáda in Písek and the session of anonymous alcoholics. Further, in my research, I used the technique of case-reports for a better presentation of the change of the quality of life due to the therapy of the dependences. The case-reports were interpretted from the resukts of the discussions. The last used method is the reading of professional literature and its presentation in this thesis. The aim of this work is to determine the selected aspects of the therapy effectivenes in AT institutions. The effectivenes is determmined by the change of the state from the point of view of bio-psycho-social aspects of the clients of AT institutions. The next aim was to evaluate the clients´ satisfaction with the services of individual AT institutions aimed at the fight with the reliance on alcohol and to determine other aspects of the reliance on alcohol. From my research it resulted, that the therapy of the reliance on alcohol in a specialized institution is a more effective form of the therapy of reliance on alcohol in an ambulatory establishment and this therapy markedly influences the quality of life of the clients with reliance on alcohol and the most effective way is the complex therapy in all items of the therapy of defendences. Further, it was proved, that the situation of the respondents improved in all selected aspects. My research also proved the connection of alcohol with another dependence, mostly on nicotine. Along with this, it confirmed the new trend in the therapy of dependences. i.e. the therapy of dual dependences, from which most of my respondents suffered. This work can serve as a whole manual for persons directly affected by the reliance on alcohol both in the laic and the professional public. Further, it can help the students with their studies or serve as a base for their follow-up studies.
Comparison of Opinions of University Students of Medical and Economic Specializations of the Issue of Addiction
KŘÍŽKOVÁ, Ilona
The thesis deals with the issue of addiction. The objective of the paper is to compare opinions and experience of university students of medical and economic specializations regarding narcotics and psychotropic substances. The issue of addictions is a frequently discussed and up-to-date subject that has big impact not only on health service and economics. The Annual Report of the Public Health Authority of the capital city of Prague in 2009 provides information about frequency of drug use among population. The first place belongs to methamphetamine (pervitin) which is mostly used by clients of K - centres and also by clients demanding treatment for the first time. The second place belongs to cannabis. The third place belongs to clients using opiates and demand treatment for the first time. (56) The theoretical part focuses on the issue of drug, alcohol and cigarettes addictions. The history and the development of every single type of addiction are mentioned here together with present knowledge and information. In the practical part of the thesis the method of quantitative research was applied. The data were obtained by means of a questionnaire. Students of the Third Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and students of the University of Economics were a quota for the selection. The objective of the research was to map and compare opinions of students of above mentioned specializations of the issue of addiction and also to find out what is the personal experience of these students with narcotics. The research shows that the first personal experience of students of medical specializations with narcotics and psychotropic substances is similar to experience of students of economic specialization. Over 60 % of respondents answered that they have already had experience with a narcotic and psychotropic substance. There is also the similarity of age. Both groups most frequently mentioned the age of 16 as the age of the first experience with narcotic and psychotropic substances. Marijuana was the drug that was most frequently mentioned and used by students. 97 % of the students of the third Faculty of Medicine and 100 % of the students of the University of Economics answered no to the question whether they use narcotics or psychotropic substances regularly. They have had experimental experience with narcotics or psychotropic substances, however are not regular consumers. The students of the University of Economics show bigger tolerance to the use of psychotropic substances than the students of the Faculty of Medicine, these students mostly condemn such an activity. The students of the Faculty of Economics distinguish soft and hard drugs more than the students of the Faculty of Medicine, these students mostly answered that all drugs are dangerous. One of the questions focused on a total ban of smoking in restaurants and on the attitude of the students to the ban. 78 % of all students think it is a good thing. They mind passive smoking above all. Respondents from both universities agreed that they would not establish a partnership with an addict. Most students would even not tolerate a partnership with a person who was once an addict and now abstains since they are afraid that he/she could return to the addiction. The hard drug addiction is found by the students the most serious. On the other hand, marijuana addiction is extremely underestimated.
