Study of expression and maturation of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation system during mammal's prenatal period
Mrhálková, Andrea ; Hůlková, Martina (advisor) ; Ješina, Pavel (referee)
Postnatal adaptation of neonate to extrauterine life is among others dependent on maturation of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation system (OXPHOS). It depends on effective mitochondrial biogenesis during fetal developement. The inadequate capacity of mitochondrial OXPHOS system plays an important role in the neonatal mortality and morbidity. Therefore the study of mitochondrial biogenesis on molecular and biochemical level is important to improve the care of very premature neonates, especially critically ill premature neonates. This thesis has been worked out in The laboratory for study of mitochondrial disorders (Department of Pediatrics, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague). The thesis is based on molecular genetic analyses, which are focused on characterisation of ATP synthase gene expression and on changes in mitochondrial DNA content during human and rat fetal development. The results provide the better insight into mitochondrial respectively ATP synthase biogenesis during human and rat fetal development.

The issue of nursing care about patients with geriatric fragility.
ŠINDELÁŘOVÁ, Renata
Bachelor thesis titled The issue of nursing care about patients with geriatric fragility is a theoretical work, that tries to catch and describe the most information about geriatric frailty and specifics of nursing care for geriatric patients, who are withering away. Geriatric frailty has significant influence on quality of seniors life who currently live longer. Because the population is getting older and number of geriatric patients is increasing and it will be stil in the future, the geriatrics and the gerontology began to focus on geritraic frailty in their research. The geriatric frailty is called "The Holy Grail" of this medicine that tries first to maintain the longest possible psychical and physical senior activity and to turn away institutionalization of geriatric patient mainly by appropriate interventions in the provision of comprehensive nursing care. The aim of great effort in this work was to map and find out all details not only about geriatric frailty, but also about areas with influence on the emergence and development of the geriatric frailty and also on quality of senior life. Geriatric frailty does not have set definition yet and it is not now known if it is a syndrome, a symptome or a medical diagnosis. Involution, that goes along and has significant influence on men's life, causes natural biological aging process of organism, which is manifested by decrease or loss of functional human reserves. If these reserves are also influenced by inner factors for example multimorbidity or undesirable effects of medicaments or external factors, where we put malnutrition, sarcopenia, cognitive deficit, inactivity, instability but also loneliness, excessive load, inappropriate housing and insufficient financial income, than the "spiral of deteriorating" is developing and heading towards disability, immobility and danger of senior life. It is necessary to add that senior with geriatric frailty may not be always ill but he wither away. So effort of my thesis is to bring meaning and impact of "geriatric frailty" and "spiral of deteriorating" in the seniors life, that are not in the awareness of medical staff who provide nursing care to seniors (Kalvach, 2008). Geriatric frailty is getting worse by its progressivity and causes emergence of other syndromes, of which the most serious are immobilization syndrome and terminal geriatric deterioration followed by death. We need the presence of three basic characteristic of five to diagnose geriatric frailty in the eldery. It is malnutrition, sarcopenia, self-reported exhaustion, reduced level of mobility and weakness. As already said geriatric frailty is now the main theme of geriatric medicine, gerontologists and geriatrists, and because it can meaningfully contribute to providing of nursing care with propriate interventions, I tried in my thesis to determine specifics of nursing care focusing on areas, which have significant influence on emergence and development of geriatric frailty. It is primarily nutrition, rehabilitation nursing and motivation of frailty seniors, but also decubitus, falls and injuries of patients, inappropriate communication with elements of ageism or sleep disturbances can affect the emergence of frailty. The result from acquired information is that the main goals of nursing care for patients with geriatric frailty are to make eat, get to go and motivate patient. Effort this thesis is not to disparage present nursing care for geriatric patients, but to explain and give information about the necessity of greater focus of nursing care on risks mentioned above. Nursing care will have to make certain changes, as well as the geriatric medicine is adapting to the population aging and geriatric frailty. If this bachelor thesis will enrich awareness of nurses and other members of multidisciplinary team with problem of geriatric frailty, specifics of nursing care of patients with geriatric frailty, attitude and motivation of these risk patients, then the.

This bachelor thesis deals with activities of a company DHL and is narrowly focused on one of three divisions, on DHL Express division, which provides express shipments and other related services. The first chapter is entirely theoretical. It describes the development and importance of logistics and best-known methods and technologies in transportation. In the second chapter the company DHL is directly introduced. In the third chapter DHL Express is described in detail and it is examined whether the services are efficient enough and whether the fundamental objective of current logistics is satisfied, satisfaction of a customer.

Evaluation of Management and Budgeting of a chosen Non-Profit Organization
Hudziecová, Barbora ; Stejskalová, Irena (advisor) ; Martínek, Zdeněk (referee)
This thesis deals with the management and Analysis of budgeting selected non-profit organization that is funded organization Centre for Social Services Jindřichův Hradec. This organization is the largest provider of social services in the South Bohemian Regi-on. For efficient using of resources organization must be known their financial situation which can be evaluated using financial analysis which reveals weaknesses in the ma-nagement of the organization. The causes of these deficiencies can be identified by Ana-lysis of varience prepared for each of the years. This deficience is in the case of selected organization prarticulary problematic communication with health insurance company VZP ČR within the payment of reimbursement for rahabilitation and nursing care be-cause of which the organization was founded in 2012 loss. Based on the findings will be made appropriate recommendations in the discussion.

The Economic Impacts of Active Employment Policy
Novotná, Ivana ; Veselá, Kamila (advisor) ; Jitka, Jitka (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to conclude the Active Employment Policy, its tools, advantages and disadvantages and to find an effective solution. The Issue of Unemployment is described continuing with new methods and their utilization in the Czech Republic and then in the Vysocina Region. One of the biggest issues is a fact that nowadays do not exist any evaluations of the results of tools of effectivity which leads to creating a bias in their benefits for the society. A big part of the state budget goes into expenses of the Active Employment Policy, nevertheless it is not known their progress. Consistent analyses and controls of using these tools described in this thesis might lead to a solution but another issue can be showed up, e.g. Act No. 101/2000 Coll., on the Protection of Personal Data. It can be theoretically contacted that some of the tools and methods are not as effective as the society needs, on the other hand it is hard to substantiate the real results.

Malaria as a major Public Health problem in Zambia
MUBIANA, Nawa
Malaria is known to be endemic throughout Zambia and continues to be a major public health problem. Eighty three percent (83 %) of Zambian population is reported to be living in malaria high risk areas and the remaining 17 percent is reported living in malaria low risk areas. Zambia has a 16 percent malaria national prevalence. Malaria peak transmission periods are usually during the rainy season ? from November to April and the main transmitting vectors are anopheles species; funestus, gambiae and arabiensis. Plasmodium falciparum is the main transmitting parasite accounting for about 98 percent of all malaria infections in the country. Other species of plasmodium that can be found in Zambia are ovale and malariae. The main intervention measures used in the prevention and control of malaria in Zambia are; Indoor Residual spray (IRS), mass distribution of insecticide treated mosquito nets (ITNs) and Intermittent Prevention Treatment (IPT). The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of the the current intervention measures used to prevent and control malaria in Zambia. I approached this issue from time the ?roll back malaria ? project was intiated in 1998 up to 2011. With help of the changes introduced to the health sector under the sector wide approach reforms in 1995, the public health approach in the fight against malaria was even much widened. The second aim of my thesis is to offer acceptable alternative interventions that can used in the prevention and control of malaria. In this qualitative type of research, I chose to use secondary analyzation of data as my research method. I obtained much of the information from studying health literature, journals, laws and other online publications, which I found to be relevant to the topic at hand. I also consulted with the Zambian ministry of health through provincial health offices as well as via district health offices. A series of three open research questions was used as a guide to obtaining the much needed data. However, the results revealed that the current intervention measures used in the prevention and control of malaria are efficient and effective. In 2009, Zambia recorded a 66 percent reduction in deaths due to malaria. This success recorded clearly surpasses the target set by the ?roll back malaria? 2006 which was aimed at reducing mortality due to malaria by 50 percent by year 2010. However, parasitemia results still show great variation in prevalence between urban areas and rural. This inequality is also evident in the access to health care as well. There is much need to scale up on intervention measures if a Zambia without malaria is to be achieved. This work can as used as a public health tool in the prevention of malaria in Zambia and also as a road map to future research concerning malaria and public health.

Physiotherapy for patients with Spinal Muscular Atrophy - therapeutic use methods and assistive devices to delay neuromuscular spinal deformities
KUBIČKOVÁ, Karolína
In my bachelor work I look into the problems of the spinal muscular atrophy, assess both the effect of physiotherapy performed and utilization of compensation aids to control the progression of the disease. SMA presents an autosomal recessive genetic progressive disease of neuromuscular system, in the course of which muscular hypotonia, even atrophy develops. This process origins in a gradual deterioration of motoneutrons of frontal spinal corners. SMA ranks among rare hereditory diseases when both parents of the affected patient are bearers of a defective gen, although the illness doesn´t manifest in them themselves. The illness, in its medium and more advanced forms, starts usually its occurence in an early childhood. The rapidity of SMA progression differs in every individual. The patiens who suffer from this illness are mostly dependent on a wheelchair and their lifetime is substantially limited. Neither pathogenesis, nor treatment are currently known. One of major problems, which are brought by the illness, is the start of a backbone neuromuscular deformities which gradually deteriorates. A progressing scoliosis is often so significant that a surgical treatment becomes inevitable because compression of internal organs reaches such a condition that a conservative treatment is not sufficient any more. The patiens often complains of a back and hip painfulness. Viewed by physiotherapy, it seems inevitable to select a correct, individual therapy for every affected person and to recommend them suitable compensation aids. In particular, the choice of a wheelchair must be done with a proper care. Especially the quality of the sitting part and the part catering for a sufficient stability of the body, present the most important items to check while selecting a wheelchair. The importance of a proper wheelchair results from the fact that the SMA patiens spend in it most of their lifetime and that´s why the comfort of usage and the limitation of both backbone deformities and pelvis obliquities appears so important. In the theoretical part of my work I focused on the definition of SMA disease. I stated the classification of SMA and the therapy options. Next, I mentioned the physiotherapy methods, which are most often employed in therapy and compensation aids, which are inevitable for the SMA patiens and present a slowdown of the disease progression. A high quality and suitably selected compensation aid participates in a partial deceleration of occurence or progression of neuromuscular deformation of the backbone. This bachelor thesis aims at monitoring of physiothrapy application chances in SMA. It examines if the illness can be partially affected by employing physiotherapeutical methods. In addition, it deals with the availability and effectivity of compensation aids.

Competitive trends on the market with mobile services in the Czech Republic at the beginning of the 21st century
Knollová, Veronika ; Císař, Jan (advisor) ; Munzi, Tomáš (referee)
Diploma thesis analyzes market with mobile services in the Czech republic. Goal of the thesis is to answer the question, if chosen solution by Czech Telecommunication Office is optimal for increase of competition on the market. Theoretical part firstly is concerned with state interventions (and so licensing) from the point of view of well-known economists. Secondly, then the historical process of telecommunications in United States and in Europe is outlined. Finally, legislation and its current changes are mentioned . Practical part introduces market using Porter's model of five competitive forces, PEST analysis and SWOT analysis. Special chapter is dedicated to foreign mobile markets in chosen countries (in Germany and France) and compares them to the Czech one. Empirical and theoretical data doubts that the effective competition on the market can be achieved by licensing and so auctions.

The effects of irradiation on plant photomorphogenesis in highschool biological education
Sedlecký, Libor ; Albrechtová, Jana (advisor) ; Pavlová, Libuše (referee)
Light does not serve plants only as a source of energy, but it mediates the information about the environmental conditions and brings signal information for developmental processes taking place in plants. Radiation within the whole spectrum range can be produced by a natural source, or an artificial source. Radiation is percived by a plant due to the whole range of receptors, known as photoreceptors - receptor molecules. Because of photoreceptors plant is able to adapt to its enviromnent and to adjust its metabolism to be as effective as possible. In photomorphogenetic reactions a plant responds mostly to red, blue and partly ultraviolet part of electromagnetic spectrum. For the red radiation there is only one receptor - phytochrome, existing in two various conformations and in several species. Phytochrome is one of the most studied photoreceptors. Blue visible light and partly also ultraviolet radiation is therefore percieved through cryptochromes, which were resistant to research for a long time. In photomorfogenesis there is an enormous difference in plant reactions to light and dark condition. Very different response is observed in various radiation conditions and different physiological events are triggerred and take place. One of the main reactions occurring during change from dark to light...

Effective Algorithms for Verifying Goals in Computer Games
Suda, Martin ; Hric, Jan (advisor)
In the present work we study non-uniform methods for searching game trees of two player games with perfect information. Particularly the non-uniformity based on threats as realized in lambda search and dual-lambda search algorithms is investigated. Threats, de ned as such attack moves that if followed by a pass from the defender result in his certain loss, allow for a reduction of the search space while guaranteeing correctness at the same time. The work then describes a new method for construction of so called relevancy zones, a list of moves or places on the game desk that can only have in uence on the result of the problem in question. Using these zones it is possible to speed up the mentioned algorithms considerably. In the work there are also described three games, AtariGo, Hex and Go-Moku, and their appropriateness with respect to the studied methods is analyzed. Part of the work is also an implementation of the methods for these games using known techniques (transposition tables, history heuristic).
