Lean Six Sigma for process improvement
Raška, Adam ; Doucek, Petr (advisor) ; Klas, Jan (referee)
Lean Six Sigma is one of the tools organizations use to help their processes run faster and thus maximize their profits. It is a thorough approach that can reveal defects in companies' processes through examining customers' needs and its statistical data Its popularity spreads fast from the early adopters such as General Electric, Toyota or Motorola and many companies are keen to get their hands on it and achieve similar success as above mentioned. Czech companies are not different. There is, however, a tendency to lay it aside based on first time impressions. The most frequent reasons are: complexity, need to make dramatic changes in the company's culture and high initial costs. Main goal of this thesis is to show that Lean Six Sigma does not necessarily have to be a thorough approach. It can also be used as a one-time tool to improve company's processes, just by picking the right parts and combining them in the right order. This thesis describes the most useful tools and also shows how they can be used in the real situation. By aligning them in a row it also creates a framework for Lean Six Sigma implementation projects which can be used repeatedly. One chapter also describes various problems that might occur during the implementation and provides readers with possible solutions to overcome them.

Influence of spontaneous and inoculated fermentation on the organic acid content in wine
Křižánková, Hana ; Vespalcová, Milena (referee) ; Hrstka, Miroslav (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with the problem of observation of controlled and spontaneous fermentation influence on the organic acids content in species of wine (Ruland blue) originated in subregion of Velké Pavlovice. Initial conditions of analysis (introduced in [41] and in materials concerning chromatographic column) were changed during lasting of experiment in such manner to get the most precise analysis of the wine sample. Enzyme Rapidase Excolor was added in the beginning of both types of fermentation plus yeasts were added at the controlled fermentation. Analysis of four organic acids was done; these were tartaric, malic, lactic and citric acid. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV detection method was used to determine concentration of each acid. Wine was processed by two technological methods – by spontaneous and controlled fermentation. Each of the process differed in the organic acids content. Concentration of tartaric acid varied from 1,63 g/l to 6,43 g/l during spontaneous fermentation process. Decrease was caused by biological processes taking place. Concentration of citric acid was not almost influenced by the process of fermentation. Due to malolactic fermentation being in progress, decrease in malic acid concentration (from 6 g/l to 1,87 g/l) and increase in lactic acid concentration was observed. Concentration of tartaric acid varies as well during controlled fermentation. Biggest increase in concentration was observed at hour 214 of the experiment when the process of fermentation was supported by addition of lactic bacteria. Due to malolactic fermentation being in progress, decrease of malic acid concentration and increase of lactic acid concentration was observed similar to simultaneous fermentation. Concentration of citric acid was constant during controlled fermentation. Experiment proved that there is higher content of observed organic acids during controlled fermentation than during processes of spontaneous fermentation.

Good manufacturing and hygienic practices with processing of freshwater fish.
SMOLA, Jiří
HACCP and good manufacturing practices are tools to the safeguard of food safety. Technologic process of fish processing begins by receiving of live fish and ending with stock and expedition of fish products. Stocking is the operation, whereat is able to get to consumer{\crq}s health hazard. Wrong temperature regulation causes multiplication of microorganisms. Stocking proceed at temperature 0 {--} 2 °C, which is stopping increasing of microorganisms. Practically were tracked difference course temperatures during hours and days. During monitoring was average temperature at 10 AM 2.33 {$\pm$} 1.25°C and average temperature at 10 PM was 2.11 {$\pm$} 1.19°C. During monitoring was average temperature 2.10 {$\pm$} 1.03°C. Maximum temperature was monitored in the morning. The temperature raised trough storage of new products. This short - period increasing is able to influence quality of products.

Cross-border cooperation as one of the factors of development
Šťastná, Petra ; Heřmanová, Eva (advisor) ; Jetmar, Marek (referee)
The beginning of the work describes problems of the border regions in general. It outlines the opportunities for development of these areas and mentions possibilities that are offered by European Union within the framework of economic and social cohesion. It also briefly mentions the Financial Mechanism of EEA and Norway. Although, the list is not exhaustive, it gives a picture of what options the regions have. Another part of the work is solely dedicated to cross-border cooperation in the Czech-Saxon border area in light of European subsidies. It compares the previous and the current period in terms of objectives, implementation structures and last year also in terms of drawdown. It refers to what potential the Czech-Saxon border area has and -- based on questionnaire survey - tries to determine how the representatives of municipalities in Czech-Saxon border area perceive the cooperation and where they see the major problems.

The Person and his Way to Freedom in the Humanistic Framework of the Twentieth Century
Burda, Petr ; Ventura, Václav (referee) ; Novotný, Vojtěch (referee)
Résumé While we are standing shyly at the beginning of the third millennium, we feel to be a part of intellectual movement that has an essential meaning for humankind. The change of paradigms has not been completed yet; we are in the middle of a great change. It shows that numerous projects dreaming about a new land, which were made real by the modern era with such effort, are deficient and turn man's sight back to an entire basis of needs that gave birth to these projects. It seems proper to ask whether this land will be a land of people. After all tragedies of 20th century this question is quite legitimate. We live in the world where man seems to be reduced to a number, size of which grows with the profit he brings. It's obvious that a definition of man depends on his social role. Here they are: a businessman, a manager, an employer and an employee. But where is the human being? Nowadays, more urgently than whenever else, Diogenes' lamp is searching for the human being. Shakespeare's dilemma to be or not to be is more than a rhetorical question. It's the historical and existential space and at the same time it's also locus theologicus . Man nonstop collects his losses, suffers from various forms of violence and at the same time keeps projecting his hopes. At the beginning of our work we analyzed the...

Bulgakov's novel The Master and Margarita and its Czech translations
Kargalceva, Natalija ; Oganesjanová, Danuše (referee) ; Rubáš, Stanislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis contains analysis of the two Czech translations of Bulgakov's novel "Master and Margarita". On the first pages, the author concems on Michail Bulgakov's life and work and seeks a parallel between the fate of the writer and the story of his last novel. Then she characterizes the novel itself and closely analyzes its two naratives: "Muscovite'' and "Jerusalem's" ones, which blend in the story. The analysis of the translations is made in a perspective of such a division. The author concerns on the way of a translation of realia (proper and local names, medical terms, cuisine etc.). She begins with the translation of proper names and, keeping to opinions of L. S. Barkhudar and L. K. Latishev, compares the two translator's approaches. After this, she concludes that such a translation has been very difficult and treacherous for the translators whose solutions are arguable and not always correct. A list of the translations of proper names is included in the Appendix 1. In the next chapter, the author deals with methods of using lexical devices and examines their function in a framework of the novel. In the "Muscovite" narative, lexical units allusive to supernature and phrases containing the words "devil" and "god" (see Appendix 2) are concerned. These lexical devices display author's stance...

Lukášková, Radka ; Svátková, Slavomíra (advisor) ; Klazar, Stanislav (referee)
The theme of the bachelor work is The limits of personal consumption in Value Added Tax in the Czech Republic. The limits of personal consumption in Value Added Tax are imposed differently for importing goods from a member of the European Union and for third countries (that is a country which is not a member of the EU). Limits are set up differently for different forms of getting goods (goods imported in luggage, goods sent from physical person from abroad and goods sent from business person or company from abroad). Because of entrance of the Czech Republic in the EU the development of these limits is divided into two parts. First period involves years from establishment of the Czech Republic (1993) till the EU admission (2004). Second period begins with the EU admission and ends with the present.
