Nové molekulární materiály pro nelineární optiku - příprava a detailní charakterizace
Mathauserová, Jana ; Němec, Ivan (advisor) ; Gyepes, Róbert (referee)
In this thesis both an experimental and computational study of selected prospective materials for nonlinear optics is presented. The main focus was put on 2-aminopyrimidinium hydrogen- phosphite (AMPPO3), a salt with high SHG efficiency and Type I. phase matching properties. AMPPO3 had been studied by our research group and its favourable qualities such as easy preparation, colourlessness, great water solubility and good crystallinity motivated further in- terest and the attempts for the growth of bulk single crystals from thermostated aqueous solu- tions as presented here. The products are meant to be probed by laser in a specific direction to determine the maximum SHG efficiency, so far the polarized microscopy study revealing the extreme dispersion effects is provided. AMPPO3 is an example of H-bond stabilized framework with both organic and inorganic building blocks. The computational study was led as to understand the structure which is typical for one of the classes of compounds exhibiting nonlinear optical properties. DFT implemented in parallel CP2K was used and for the comparison three other optically active materials of sim- ilar composition were studied - urea, guanylurea hydrogenphosphite and 2-aminopyrimidine- boric acid 3/2 cocrystal. After the constrained geometry optimization and cell...
Geophysical and remote sensing methodologies applied to the analysis of regolith and geology in Burkina Faso, West Africa
Metelka, Václav ; Ježek, Josef (advisor) ; Miller, John (referee) ; Martelet, Guillaume (referee) ; de Kemp, Eric (referee)
The oldest parts of continents, so-called cratons, are the focus of worldwide research not only because they represent primary constraints for our understanding of the early evolution of the Earth, but also because of their significant mineral potential. This work contributes to the understanding of the geological and geomorphological evolution of the West African Craton, by an integrated analysis of airborne geophysical and satellite remote sensing data constrained by field structural, lithological, geophysical, and geomorphological observations acquired around Houndé, Boromo and Banfora greenstone belts and associated granitoid domains in western Burkina Faso. The results of this integration suggest that the granitoid domains of western Burkina Faso are formed by numerous small- to medium-sized plutons, and the magnetic data provided a better definition of the actual pluton shapes. Airborne gamma ray spectrometry data aided in the mapping process in areas with less regolith cover. Three deformation events (D1-D3) can be distinguished in western Burkina Faso. A megacrystic tholeiitic basalt unit allowed us to establish stratigraphic correlations between the two belts and propose a crustal scale anticline (D1). The D1 penetrative structures, resulting from an E-W to WNW-oriented compression are...
The influence of polite manners on communication in and structure of Jane Austen's Novels
Horáková, Eliška ; Beran, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Nováková, Soňa (referee)
This thesis is primarily concerned with individual structural analyses of Jane Austen's novels. It employs a new theory of story structure called Dramatica, which makes a departure from the standard methods of analysis that have trouble penetrating deeper than the surface structure of a story, and rather studies the basic conflicts between the individual components of the story. The thesis shows the advantages of this approach and tentatively recommends the ways in which it could be used in future works. The following part explores the changes in both society and literature (in particular concerning the development of the novel) which predated and therefore could influence Jane Austen. It also points out certain customs and behaviours which are not familiar to the present day reader and the knowledge of which can both simplify and enrich the study of the works. The final part applies the results of the analyses (the most important themes of the novels) to some passages from the stories. The aim is firstly to show the complexity and interconnectedness of Jane Austen's oeuvre, and secondly, to show it in the context of the conventions of the time.

Influence of Explosive Hardening on the Structure and Characteristic of Hadfield Steel in Terms of use in the Railway Transport
Havlíček, Petr ; Podrábský, Tomáš (referee) ; Nesvadba,, Petr (referee) ; Schmidtová,, Eva (referee) ; Stránský, Karel (advisor)
The high alloyed austenitic manganese steel, the Hadfield steel, thanks to its good wear resistance of the work surface and maintaining the high toughness of the internal material in the same time, is successfully applied for casted crossings. The crossings are the most dynamic stressed components in the railway turnouts. Thanks to low surface and sub-surface hardness the occurrence of plastic deformation and the progressive wear of the crossing running surfaces can be found since the initial stages of the crossing operational life. One possibility how to increase the surface and the sub-surface hardness and this way improve the dimensional stability and the crossing lifetime as well is to apply the explosive hardening of the crossing running surfaces. The technology mentioned above means the application of the explosives in the imminent nearness to the running surface of the crossing, when the high pressure wave acting within the extremely short period actuates the plastic deformation of the material structure. The work deals with analysis of influence of explosive hardening on the structure and characteristic of Hadfield steel. The explosive hardened samples have the surface and the sub-surface hardness checked and the microscopic analysis and X – ray diffraction is applied, including the TEM analysis as well carried out by the transmission electronic microscope. The characteristics experimental testing including outcomes from assessment of the contact – fatigue load of the explosive hardened Hadfield steel samples are the part of the work as well. As an experiment final part the outcomes of the long –term validation, the surface hardness and wear of the crossing running surfaces of the explosive hardened crossing already installed into the Czech Republic railway track are introduced as well.

Application of different fractionation techniques for structure determination of ICP
Dostálová, Dagmar ; Kratochvíla,, Jan (referee) ; Buráň,, Zdeněk (advisor)
Impact E/P copolymer (ICP) is produced using gas-phase polymerization catalysed by Ziegler-Natta catalysts. This material with its excellent mechanical properties is used in many industries, for example in automotive industry to produce bumpers or instrument panels. Its properties depend on chemical structure which was analysed using DSC, 13C NMR and GPC. It was used 6 different samples of ICP for studies, the chosen samples have different ratio between ethylene and propylene in their copolymer phase. The samples were fractionated using preparative TREF and solvent extraction to obtain fractions, which composition depends on elution temperature. Obtained fractions and original samples were subsequently analysed using above-mentioned methods.
Upgrade of the UHV manipulator for SIMS and LEIS methods
Dao, Tomáš ; Polčák, Josef (referee) ; Bábor, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design and the construction of the manipulator, which operates under ultra high vacuum. In the first section, the original design and realization of the manipulator with six motion axis is introduced. Second section deals with the modifications of the manipulator. Advantages and disadvantages of the design are discussed and a new design of the manipulator, based on the experience from manipulator operation, is projected. Section is mainly focused on the design of the sample rotation using a stepper motor working in the ultra high vacuum. The new Faraday cup was also designed and tested. The last section contains the LEIS structural analysis measurement using the manipulator.
Influence of E/P copolymer composition on impact copolymer properties
Získané frakce i původní vzorky byly následně analyzovány výše uvedenými metodami.
