Konečný, Jan ; Výskala, Miloslav (referee) ; Aigel, Petr (advisor)
The first part of this master’s thesis, which is more theoretical, contains information relating to prices in general, construction budgets, cost calculation of construction works and materials and costs. In the second part describes the use of materials and their properties, surface treatment and analysis of selected locksmith constructions.
Polymer protective systems for concrete floors
Novotná, Adéla ; Vyhnánek, Miroslav (referee) ; Petránek, Vít (advisor)
The thesis is addressing the testing of protective polymer layers, which are used mainly for industrial floors. A summary table of standards is presented, dividing the test carried out on the binders, fillers, fresh mixture and polymerized material. Non standardize tests are described in detail in a very similar way as it is performed by the Institute of Technology of Building Materials and Components. The second part of my thesis is devoted to testing of the reference material and material filled with raw substances. Based on recommendations of Lena Chemical Company, filler – ground windscreen glass will be used. On this type of mixture selected set of tests needed for construction and technical certificates was performed.
Bulk properties of fine particulate solids as the function of the selected material parameters.
Slanina, Ondřej ; Roman,, Fekete (referee) ; Svěrák, Tomáš (advisor)
The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the description of particulate materials and their mechanical behaviors with a focus on flow properties. Great emphasis is placed on measuring the shear properties using a Jenike shear machine, on the correct procedure for standardized measurement and evaluation using Mohr's circles. The theoretical part focuses on the characterization of particulate matter using a variety of methods available, such as visual, separation, sedimentation, surface methods and methods of scanning field and flow. The practical part is focused on the determination of flow characteristics and surface finishing of finely ground limestone Omyacarb VA with various grain sizes. The surface was modified using stearic acid and calcium stearate. Attention was paid to the influence of the concentration of surface-regulating substances on the flowability of the material. The flowability of commercially supplied material was compared with lab modified materials and the determination of the theoretical content of stearic acid or calcium stearate was accomplished. Shear properties were measured using the Jenike shear machine. The material was further tested by laser diffraction and SEM with EDS particle surface analysis and elemental surface mapping.
Influence of physical treatment of precipitated CaCO3 on the properties of PP composites
Huczala, Vít ; Ing.Vendula Balgová ,Ph.D. (referee) ; Nezbedová, Eva (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with study of system of polypropylene and inorganic filler. As filler was used commercially available particulate filler CaCO3 termed NPCC 201. The objective of the study was a surface plasma treatment of filler in order to obtain composite based on polypropylene. Mechanical properties of this composite will show significantly greater value than basic matrix. The filler was treated in dielectric barrier plasma discharge by atmospheric pressure. The characterization of filler was performed before and after plasma treatment by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), electron microscope (SEM) and sedimentation analysis. The distribution of particle size was measured by laser diffraction and by dynamic light scattering. The composite materials with various weight concentration of filler were prepared in POLYMER INSTITUTE BRNO by using the twin-screw extruder and the test specimens were prepared by the injection molding technology. Their mechanical properties was studied by using of short and long-term tests. The uniaxial creep testing in tension was used for study of long-term behavior of composites.
Modern treatments by powder paints
Turek, Tomáš ; Kovář, Petr (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with the process of powder coating paint, a description of the individual steps and types of used equipment. Thesis also includes the distribution of powder paints and overview of basic information, color chart systems and the description of color tone perception. At the end of the thesis are summary of quality standards of deposited surface and technologic process of coating using in the powder coating in paintshop.
Surface Treatment Technology of Metallic Materials and its Applications using Electron Beam
Matlák, Jiří ; Dupák, Libor (referee) ; Houdková, Šárka (referee) ; Foret, Rudolf (advisor)
Fast deflection is one of the great advantages of an electron beam, making it possible to process a relatively large area at once and also to modify the distribution of the supplied energy. The dissertation deals with surface heat treatment with a focus on the effect of beam deflection on the process. Furthermore, the influence of processing speed and defocusing of the electron beam is studied. The principles of electron beam technology and the summary of surface heat treatment of various materials are presented in the literary part of the thesis. The experimental part is focused on the influence of process parameters on processing in the solid phase, carried out on steel 42CrMo4, and in in the liquid phase, carried out on alloy NiCrBSi. Especially changes in structure, hardness, shape of the processed area and wear resistance are evaluated on processed samples. The results are also evaluated from an energy perspective. Furthermore, an optimum combination of technological parameters is recommended for solid and liquid phase surface heat treatment.
Design of paint systems in coachwork parts of easel issues
Fajfr, Jan ; Žák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with proposal for a new type of painting. There is a solution of proper pretreatment for undercoat. Teoretical part includes analysis of these pretreatments, types of powder coatings, options how to apply these coatings including curing. There have been made samples for the purpose of this work and the samples were tested for resistance. Conslusion of this work contains results of the experiment and the choice of the best type of painting with regards of economy.

Assessment of Efficiency of waterborne penetrations for cement substrates
Hlawiczka, Jakub ; Tupý, Michael (referee) ; Petránek, Vít (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis is addressing the issue of using primer coatings for cementitious surfaces. It analyzes reasons of using primer coatings and specific features of application. There are mentioned different species of surface treatment for cementitious surfaces which is followed by methods of surface treatment by variety cementitious screeds, and self-leveling flooring systems. Then it is looked into general characterization of polymer dispersions (especially water-based dispersions) which have typical attribute for primers. In experimental part of thesis are compared ten different waterborne primers. Testing is briefly described and evaluated.
