The influence of crumb rubber content on low temperature characteristics of bituminous mixtures
Doležel, Václav ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is the design of asphalt concrete for very thin layers with crumb rubber modified bitumen and the perform of low temperature characteristics tests according to ČSN EN 12697-46 standard.
Design and evaluation of asphalt rubber mixture for pavement binder course
Musílek, Lukáš ; Telecký, Jiří (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
The design of asphalt concrete for binder courses with high-viscosity asphalt rubber and low-viscosity asphalt rubber is carried out in the diploma thesis. Selected performance tests (low temperature characteristics, stiffness and fatigue) and water sensitivity are performed for these mixtures. Results are compared each other.
The influence of bitumen content on properties of asphalt mixture with CRmB
Sychra, Martin ; Frýbort, David (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
The asphalt mixture BBTM 5 A with crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRmB) is designed and produced in the diploma thesis. The influence of CRmB content on low temperature properties, stiffness and fatigue of asphalt mixture BBTM 5 A is determined. The influence of asphalt mixture ageing simulation on change of low temperature properties is also evaluated.
Bituminous mixture desing with the use of 30 % reclaimed asphalt and its functional evaluation
Horáček, Daniel ; Šperka, Pavel (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to design asphalt mixture with a higher lifetime (mixture of type VMT 16) and its subsequent assessment by selected functional tests. VMT blends are used for load and underlayer layers of roads with higher transport loads. The main idea of this bachelor thesis is the design of an asphalt mixture consisting of natural aggregates, recycled asphalt mixtures and crumb rubber modified bitumen, yet retaining good road-holding properties. The use of recyclable bituminous mixtures will allow the recycling of bent or milled asphalt layers, which is currently high in surplus, and will allow the overall cost of building new high-quality asphalt layers to be reduced. The bachelor thesis describes the empirical and functional tests performed, according to which the resulting asphalt mixture was designed, and the results compared with the TP151 Asphalt mixture with high modulus of stiffness (VMT).
Application of crumb rubber in bituminous binders and in bituminous mixtures
Dašek, Ondřej ; Fišer,, Jiří (referee) ; Vacín,, Otakar (referee) ; Komačka,, Jozef (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
Presented dissertation thesis is focused on the possibility of using the crumb rubber from waste tires for modification of paving grade bitumen. The resulting asphalt rubber can be used as an alternative to polymer modified bitumen in compacted bituminous mixtures. The theoretical part describes the rheological properties of asphalt binders and the history and today state of the art in the world and in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the work contains a description of the properties of chosen crumb rubbers and produced asphalt rubbers focused on their rheological properties and on change of these properties caused by the aging at high temperature. Subsequently, the chosen empirical and functional properties of bituminous mixtures with asphalt rubber are described. Laboratory properties of these mixtures were verified under real service conditions on 32 test sections. Based on the dissertation thesis results the preliminary technical specification of the Ministry of Transport (TP 148) and their following revision were approved. The conclusion of the work summarizes and highlights the results of the dissertation.
The influence of test specimens preparation and instaling of grid on low temperature characteristics of bituminous mixture
Sklenář, Jan ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
This thesis was focused on studying of asphalt mixture behaviour with Crumb Rubber modified Bitumen at low temperatures. The work is divided into practical and theoretical part. The practical part is focused on manufacturing of test specimens and using of thermal stress restrained specimen test according to ČSN EN 12697-46. The literature review, description of the specimens manufacturing process and analysis of the measured values are introduced in the theoretical part of the work. Three kinds of test specimens were manufactured from one asphalt mixture.
Design and evaluation of asphalt rubber mixture
Hotař, Petr ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
The aim of bachelor thesis is to design the asphalt concrete for very thin layers using asphalt rubber and to perform laboratory tests according to ČSN EN 13108-2 and TP 148. The work is based on the literature review and respects properties of asphalt rubber. The expected properties of asphalt concretes for very thin layers are summarized and evaluated.
Usage of Rich Bottom Layers
Simkovič, Lukáš ; Hegr, Zdeněk (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is theoretical knowledge of the problems rich bottom layer and practical part of comparison of three asphalt mixtures for base layers using common road bitumen and modified rubber granulate. Selected functional laboratory tests (low temperature, fatigue resistance, bulk density) and stiffnes modules are performed on these mixtures and the results are compared to each other.
Swedish and US AR mixture design comparison
Puda, Adam ; Frýbort, David (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
This master's theseis deals with comparison of two design concepts for producting asphalt mixture with CRmB. These design concepts are from Sweden and USA. The theoretical part sets parameters for design of asphalt mixture and chracteristic tests. In the practical part test speciements of design asphatl mixture undergo performace tests that simulate climate and traffic load. Results are compared to mathematical model used in program LayEps.
