The use of advanced composite materials for the design of concrete structures
Bártová, Denisa ; Matušíková, Anna (referee) ; Girgle, František (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of FRP reinforced concrete structures. The theoretical part is focused mainly on the punching shear of a flat two way slab according to ACI, fib Bulletin, CSA, and JSCE standards. This thesis also includes a description of the punching shear resistance according to Eurocode 2. FRP reinforcement, its mechanical properties, and their behaviour in time are also described. Next, a parametric study was performed that examines the effects of various parameters on the punching shear resistance according to the standards mentioned above. At the end a non-linear analysis using the ATENA software was performed. The practical part includes a structural design of a flat two way slab. The slab uses a steel reinforcement at the bottom, while the top is reinforced with FRP reinforcement. The punching shear design is also included. In the last chapter the serviceability limit state is checked, specifically the slab long-term deflection. The thesis also includes drawings. All calculations were performed in accordance with Eurocode 2 and fib Bulletin No. 40.
Analysis of performance of embankment constructed on subsoil improved by vertical drains
Kováč, Vladimír ; Miča, Lumír (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
The thesis deals with the back analysis of the instrumentated embankment on the subsoil, improved by prefabricated vertical drains. The first part is devoted to the theory of consolidation calculation. Furthermore, the author deals with a parametric study of the analytical calculation of prefabricated drains and the comparsion of the analytical and numerical solution. The last and the largest part of the work is a back analysis of the embankment which was built as a part of the subsoil improvement near the Suez Canal in Egypt by Keller GmbH.
Parametric study of road communications
Píštěk, Petr ; Matuszková, Radka (referee) ; Kosňovský, Michal (advisor)
The goal of the bachelor’s thesis is a parametric study of a road Uherský Ostroh - Hluk. Both vilages are situated in Zlin region. It is situated 28km southern from city Zlin. The goal of study is adopt work with projection software and comparison different categories of road in the same maps background. There are designed 3 categories S7,5; S9,5; S11,5. Variants are led across the agriculture area. Each variant include old and new road.
Parametric study of road communications
Babík, Maroš ; Matuszková, Radka (referee) ; Kosňovský, Michal (advisor)
The goal of the bachelor’s thesis is a study of the road Ostrovačice – Veverská Bítýška. Ostrovačice is situated in South-Moravian region. It is situated 21,3 km west from city Brno. The reason for a study is processing and evaluating proposals for the owners of the infrastructure and potencial investors. There were designed three variants S7,5/50; S9,5/70; S11,5/90. All variants are heading through the undeveloped terriotry, where the crossings and relocations of the actual roads and water flows have been solved.
Numerical simulation of volume changes of selected cementitious composites
Drbušková, Magdaléna ; Veselý,, Václav (referee) ; Keršner, Zbyněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with volume changes of selected cementitious composites. They are divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical section describes the volume changes that occur in concrete structures. The practical part is focused primarily on the initial stage of shrinkage specimens of two-component cement composite (cement paste + aggregate) and it´s numerical simulation. For analysis were used SpatiDist and FyDiK 2D computer applications. It was simulating shrinkage of specimens with and without notch to compare. The result is a parametric study which reflects the influence of type and size of grain aggregate and shrinkage degree of cementitious paste.
Parametric Study of Air Heat Exchanger
Podola, David ; Volavý, Jaroslav (referee) ; Fišer, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the impact of changes in operating and geometrical parameters of regenerative heat exchanger on the efficiency of decentralized ventilation units with heat recovery. Decentralized ventilation unit can be used for ventilation of family houses or smaller administration buildings. Output of this work is to determine the efficiency of a particular produced model of decentralized ventilation unit and overview of the possibilities increased efficiency of heat recovery of this units.
Numerical analysis of selected silicate based composites shrinkage
Drbušková, Magdaléna ; Vlk, Zbyněk (referee) ; Keršner, Zbyněk (advisor)
The thesis is divided into two main parts. In the first theoretical part is described the problems of shrinking including a comparison of Czech standard and Model Code 2010, Vol. 1. The second practical part of the master`s thesis is focused on the numerical analysis shrinkage primarily on the initial stage of this process. The experimentally obtained data are set approximations of the relative deformation using ShrCeC. Subsequently the numerical simulation of shrinkage of selected silicate specimens using a computer applications SpatiDist and FyDiK 2D. The real test specimens are modelled as two-component composite consisting of cement paste and aggregates. The result is a parametric study takes into account the influence of type and size of grain aggregate.
Design of Load Bearing Concrete Structure
Klodner, Jan ; Vácha, Jaroslav (referee) ; Štěpánek, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focusing on general issues of floor concrete slabs, technology, implementation, subsoil models, calculation of internal forces and design approaches. Based on these data the thesis monitors the behaviour of floor slabs according to the various parameters. It also includes three versions of design of the real floor slab, made of steel fibre reinforced concrete, reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete. Economic comparison is also included. In addition it developes a design of the chalice base and reinforced concrete column of the supporting hall system, instead of the original usual base with steel column.
Parametrická studie protlačovacích zkoušek na miniaturních discích při podmínkách konstantní rychlosti zatěžování
Dymáček, Petr
The mechanical testing and numerical modeling of the small punch test on miniature disks from heat resistant steel type ČSN 41 5313 were performed. Current intensive methodical and application analysis of the possibilities of these tests is aimed mainly on relation between their results and conventional test results on massive specimens. One of the ways is empirical deduction of these relations another one is the numerical modeling. Finite element method offers good tool for creation of parametric model capable to simulate the process during the test and study the influence of geometrical and material characteristics on the test results. The experimental and calculated results mentioned in the paper are for punch testing at constant deflection rate at room temperature as well as operational temperature of the material.
Modelling of Local Bulging of a Pipe
Micka, Michal ; Jíra, J.
Local defects affect the stress state in the pipe wall. The stress and strain state in the neighbourhood of the local bulging of the pipe wall can be modelled numerically using the FEM. The model is made from the segment cut-out from the pipe wall with a definite defect in the form of the bulge (owing to the symmetry a quarter of the defect with his neighbourhood can be considered).
