This thesis is aimed at the function description of a mobile pulse frequency meter and its use in the sport segment. Parts of this thesis are concept, production and description of the meter. The aim of the thesis was to make out if it is possible to construe the device in amateur conditions and through the measuring verify its functionality.

Films of Metal Nanoparticles Deposited on Semiconductors by Electrophoresis: Technology and Characterization

Layers of nanoparticles in micelle enclosures were deposited on InP substrates by electrophoresis from isooctane colloid solutions containing Pd or Ag nanoparticles. The layers were investigated by SIMS, low-temperature photoluminescence spectroscopy and topography, absorption spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and sensitivity to hydrogen. Photoluminescence of InP was enhanced by the layers of Pd or Ag nanoparticles. Schottky barriers made on the n-type InP with layers containing Pd nanoparticles showed significant sensitivity to hydrogen in contrast to those containing Ag nanoparticles.

The contribution presents results of the research of an optical glucose sensor. The detection of oxygen depletion caused by glucose oxidation under glucoseoxidase catalysis was used in the glucose sensors. Fluorescence quenching of ruthenium complexes by oxygen was used for the oxygen detection. The complexes and enzyme were immobilized in inorganic-organic ORMOCER membranes. Developed fiber-optic sensors enable to detect glucose in concentrations up to 3 mmol/L and with response times of about 20s.
