Load efects and their combinations
Václavek, L. ; Marek, Pavel
The load effects combination analysis is one of the very important components in thestructural reliability evaluation. The current approaches are briefly indicated. The analysis of load effects combination based on a fully computing methods (see, e.g., SBRA method) is described and its two main concepts are indicated, „arbitrary point in time“approach and „extreme load effect“approach. Future studies are outlined.

The subject of the paper is a comment on the representation of loads in the structural reliability assessment method considering the transition from the current methods (such as the Partial factors method applied in Eurocodes and in AISC-ASCE code) to fully probabilistic reliability assessment methods (such as Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment Metod, SBRA, Probabilistic model code and others).

SBRA method and the development of its application
295 This paper turns attention to the potential of the simulation based reliability assessment method SBRA, considering especially the durability assessment of steel structures. A fully probabilistic approach is demonstrated using two examples. A steel component is exposed to time dependent effects of corrosion and assessment of the accumulation fatigue damage.
