Citizens satisfaction with living conditions at their place of residence

Within April survey CVVM investigated how were informants satisfied with living conditions at their place of residence. Two thirds of informants were satisfied at all, one quarter wasn‘t satisfied nor dissatisfied and only 7 % were dissatisfied at all. Informants were also asked to evaluate following particular conditions influencing the standard of living. People were most satisfied with installation of gas, electricity, water and with sewerage (92 % “certainly + rather satisfied”) and 87 % were satisfied with disposal of municipal waste. These two were followed by human relations (77 %), service level (74 %), cleanness of the streets (72 %) and environment (72 %). The worst evaluated aspects were the level of wages (67 % “certainly + rather dissatisfied”), job oportunity (56 %), building up of new flats (54 %) and maintenance of municipal flats and houses (38 %).

As a part of June survey CVVM used some questions concerning current evaluation and expectation of near future development of country's economic situation and material living conditions of households. Within May survey CVVM focused on the environment. People were questioned about their satisfaction with environmental conditions in the Czech Republic as well as at the place they live in general and in some concrete ways and they were also asked to evaluate activity of some institutions and organizations in connection with care and protection of the environment.
