Štekláč, Jiří ; Ševčíková, Michaela (advisor) ; Vybíralová, Ivana (referee)
The aim of my work is to evaluate the social-economic aspects brought along by the respective rate of flexibility at labour market. The individual im-pacts will be illustrated by selected EU countries with high (France), middle (the Czech Republic) and low (the UK) labour market rigidity. In the first part the social aspects of labour market rigidity will be evalua-ted. I will examine the influence of social systems (e.g. the extent of and crite-ria for providing social benefits) on labour markets in the selected countries, with focus on social consequences caused by labour legislation (e.g. em-ployees protection, wage rigidity). The second part will evaluate the economic (especially macroeconomic) aspects of labour market flexibility. The analysis will employ primarily ma-croeconomic indicators. The analysis will specifically verify the pressure of rigid labour market rules on inflation, unemployment, GDP and exchange rate. In a broader con-text I will try to answer the question whether (and to what extent) the labour market rigidity participates in deepening or on the other hand averting the cur-rent economic crisis.
The Phenomenon of Deflation - Is It Really a Negative Effect?
Braunová, Veronika ; Munzi, Tomáš (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
The bachelor thesis investigates two divergences of opinion on the problem of deflation and tends to the side of Austrian economic school which deals with original conception. Deflation according to them means drastic decline of money supply or volume of expenditures in the economy. By disagreement with the modern concept of deflation are displaced the most famous myths connected with deflation (for example, increase in unemployment rate). Deflation is divided in several types, whereas in negative sense can be comprehended only one of them. Next is proved the inefficiency of implementing antideflationary policy which should fight against the deflation and restore inflation in economy. On the basis of research on deflation during The Great Depression was found to be deflation only a consequence of the crisis, not causation. As the causation was determined regulation of market during the period of the presidency of Hoover and Roosevelt. In conclusion new knowledge was used for the explanation of current financial crisis from which was indicted government and central banks.

Analysis of changes of tax system for 2009 and comparisons with the year 2008 follow. The result of description of tax system for 2008 is a statement, that high tax burden is in France and taxation is considerably complicated and is not transparent especially for amount of exceptions and other conditions. Reaction to negative changes of economy, which took place during financial crisis, is change of taxation for 2009. These changes cause further increase of tax burden of work, but they also increase tax revenue of the French republic. The revenue should be used to increase economic growth and deficit reduction of France. Great Depression in thirties of 20th century and its consequences for Czechoslovakia
Valenta, David ; Váňa, Daniel (advisor) ; Tajovský, Ladislav (referee)
My thesis deals with the Great Depression on the 1930's, which was one of the biggest economic disasters of last century. It follows especially the course and consequences of the crisis in Czechoslovakia. There are still many questions about this event and economists of whole world have never agreed on the only explanation, which could describe and solve all the causes and circumstances of Great Depression. In addition, there are also many views that the crisis had influence not only in economic sphere, but also had the social and political impacts. First part deals with international connections of Great Depression and searches causations of crisis in economic theory and describes the birth of Great Depression in United States. Second and third parts analyze the beginning and running of the crisis in Czechoslovakia and deal with particular sections of economy. The fourth part summaries economic and political effects of the crisis in Czechoslovakia and shows how the country faced up to depression.
