United Kingdom and the Israeli-Palestine Peace Process

The diploma thesis United Kingdom and the Israeli-Palestine peace process is focused on British foreign policy towards the situation in Israel/Palestine and the ongoing peace process between 1997 and 2001. It addresses the main assumptions for the approach of the Tony Blair's government and their fulfilling. It is based on the analysis of speeches and documents issued by the Labour Party or by the government of the United Kingdom, on which it at first defines the assumptions about the activities of the United Kingdom on the international level, which it understands as commitments towards British and the electorate. Further, it presents the major steps made towards the situation in Israel/Palestine, as well as the long-term motives of Tony Blair government's approach to this area, which can be seen in speeches and other materials. It then examines whether the policy towards the Israeli-Palestine peace process matched the outlined assumptions and expectations. Subsequently, it deals with the causes of the found differences and discusses the importance of this topic for the government of Tony Blair and its possibilities get more involved in these issues. This bachelor thesis analyzes foreign policy of the Czech Republic towards two middle-east territories: Yemen and Palestine. This work investigates economic cooperation between the Czech Republic and the aforementioned countries, which also involves selling military equipment. Next the area of human rights and development aid in the foreign policy of the Czech Republic towards these countries will be analyzed. Next the approach of the Czech Republic towards Saudi Arabia and Israel will be studies. Those countries strongly influence the situation in Yemen and Palestine. The aim of the work is to find out whether the foreign policy of the Czech Republic is continuous and if it is steered by economic interests.
U.S. Foreign Policy towards Cuba

The thesis is analysing the mutual relations of the United States and Cuba, and encapsulate the political development of Cuba as well as U.S., and the changes of the foreign policy of the United States towards Cuba, since 1898. The focus of the thesis is on how the U.S. foreign policy influenced the development of Cuba, the factors that have contributed to the shaping of Cuba-U.S. relations and the main historical events and laws that occurred between two countries. The differences between foreign policies of the American presidents and the policy of containment of communism will be taken into account, as well as the position of Cuban Americans in U.S. and public opinion on the U.S.-Cuba relations. The conclusion of the work will contain the discussion of an obtained results.

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to compare foreign policies of two Egyptian presidents Gamal Nasser and Anwar as-Sadat especially towards the Arab-Israeli conflict. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part, literary research, describes conflict theories, international relations and foreign policy theories and demography in the context of security. The second part of the thesis analyses presidents' Gamal Nasser and Anwar as-Sadat foreign policies, brief Egypt's development since the 80's and Egypt's and Israel's attitudes to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Attention is focused here also on the economic development and cooperation and the demographic development and its influence on security. The proposal part identifies current region's threats like the Islamic state and the demographic structure of the population and predicts their future headings.
Analysis of the foreign policy of Iran towards the West in terms of holistic constructivism

Iran´s reactions often seem very controlversial and inapprehensive to the western countries, therefore Iranian Islamic Republic represents an inscrutable actor in the international field. Construstivism introduces a new approach to this issue and it suggests not to consider Iran as an usual rational actor but to take into account the ideological factors as well. This paper deals with the construstivistic analysis of the foreign policy of the Iranian Islamic Republic towards the West and tries to answer the question if there is a role of the Iranian national identity in forming of the Iran´s foreign policy.
The European Dimension of Foreign Policy of Great Britain under the rule of Margaret Thatcher

This bachelor thesis deals with the British approach to European integration under the rule of Margaret Thatcher. The first chapter defines the term euroscepticism, its typology and British euroscepticism. The second chapter focuses on the role of Great Britain in the European integration process. The third chapter is about political life of Margaret Thatcher. Her leadership style is also characterized in this chapter. The last chapter focuses on relations between Margaret Thatcher and the European Communities. All the significant affairs, which led to the change of her relations with the European Communities, are described in this chapter. A part of the last chapter is also dedicated to her famous speech, the Bruges Speech. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the turnabout causes of her attitude to the European integration. Further the thesis illustrates how she contributed to the Eurosceptic position of Great Britain, and how relations between individual member states and the United Kingdom have developed.
Austria as a small state in international organizations: the tactics of pursuing Austrian national interests in the European union

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of small states in the context of the European Union. It principally focuses on strategies of small states which help them to pursue their national interests in the European Union. Austria has been chosen as a case for the practical purposes of this diploma thesis. The theoretical part introduces the concept of small state in general, characterizes this specific term in the structures of the European Union and points out to the weaknesses of small countries, which may reduce their foreign-policy activism. Subsequently, the text analyses the strategies of small states which are used for the promotion of national interests in the European Union, or more precisely in the Council of the European Union. A practical section of the thesis deals with Austrian foreign policy engagement in three key political issues of the Alpine republic. The analysis of the Austrian initiatives during the years 1995-2015 has identified the strategies which Austria used to pursue its national positions in the European Union.
The Importance of the Pacific Alliance in Mexican Foreign Policy

The thesis analyses how Mexico uses the Pacific Alliance as a tool for its foreign policy. The first chapter explains the international relations framework, the structure of international organizations, the foreign policy network and also the international integration. The second chapter looks over Mexico's foreign policy. The chapter expounds the basic macroeconomic indicators describing the development of Mexican foreign policy and discusses Mexico's position in Latin American integration. The third chapter deals with Mexico in the Pacific Alliance. It lays out basic data on the Pacific Alliance out, and goes on to analyze the activities of the Pacific Alliance with which Mexico is involved. The chapter concludes by comparing these broader Pacific Alliance with Mexico's objectives, and considers the activities' impact on Mexico.
Dynamics of the Human Right Priority in Czech Foreign Policy

This bachelor thesis deals with the human rights priority in Czech foreign policy and its dynamics. The aim of this thesis is to characterize Czech human rights foreign policy in two different periods: from the beginning of the Czech Republic until the year of 2013 and from the year of 2014 until today and to compare those periods. First chapter is theoretical, it is focused on the role of human rights in the foreign policy of a small state. Practical part of the thesis is concentrated on characteristics of each period and on the evaluation of the development.
