The Occupants of the Halfway House in Kynšperk nad Ohří and the Evaluation of Services provided to them

Young people who leave orphanages, from youth detention centres, from prisons and from protection treatment facilities are handicapped in many areas of life. These handicaps together with prejudices of the society often lead to their becoming members of groups, which live at the edge of the society. The aim of the Dům na půl cesty (Halfway house) is to provide these young people with help and support in their way to independent living and their active integration into society. The aim of this thesis is to monitor the social situation of the users of Dům na půl cesty in Kynšperk nad Ohří and to assess the services provided to them. The theoretical part deals with factors, which play an important role on the way of young people into the Dům na půl cesty. It describes their social situation. It presents concrete features of the Dům na půl cesty in Kynšperk nad Ohří and the services provided to its users. The practical part comprises the research, in which it was investigated what is the current sufficiently covers their needs. This qualitative investigation was carried out by interviewing, by semi structured interview technique in two groups of respondents. The first group consisted of users of the Dům na půl cesty in Kynšperk nad Ohří, the second group consisted of employees of the establishment. The interviews with all respondents were evaluated, presented and consequently summarized in the final discussion. The outcome of the research is the finding that users of the Dům na půl cesty in Kynšperk nad Ohří perceive the services as needed and of sufficient range. The thesis can serve as an evaluation of the current status of the establishment and the findings can be used as a basis for optimum adaptation of the service to the needs of its users.
Studies in Secondary Vocational Schools in Point of View of Students

This bachelor work is concerned with student´s motivation for studying and their position for studying at special middle schools. The theoretical part is concentred in describing and dividing motivation, in advancing and cultivating of adolescents´s motivation and adolescents´ choices of future profession. For better understanding there is analysed period of adolescent, socialization, influence of family, school and contemporaries at work. There were set presumptions of student´s motivation and their position for studying for the practical part. Presumptions are verified by experimental explorer, which was a question blank. The question blank has 10 questions divided into two parts. The first part is concentred in discovering the type of student´s motivation. The second part is concentred in discovering the student´s position for studying. The informants were the students of the special middle school at Volyně and Strakonice.
Motivation for Volunteering

Providing of assistance can be divided into short-term, unplanned and planned and long-term - this form is defined as a volunteering. Volunteering, as a type of prosocial behavior is widespread in the world. Importance of voluntary movement increased rapidly in the Czech Republic in recent years. As an evidence for it is the addition of volunteer centers and other organizations and Act No. 198/2002 Coll. concerning volunteer service. For this reason, the author decided to find factors related to prosocial behavior in persons with long-term, systematic and selfless behavior, which they devote to activities for the benefit of other people, it means volunteers. The author carried out a quantitative research using methods of interviewing, anonymous questionnaire technique (specifically inventory supplemented by other questions). The group was established by quota random sample where quota was sex, voluntary activity and its length. The sample was consisted of a target group of volunteers from throughout the Czech Republic. Research has shown that the most common motive for volunteering is to help others and meet new people, gain new experiences. It was further shown that in the motivation structure of the volunteers (six basic motives influencing the voluntary behavior) was the most represented motive career ? to gain an experience for a his or her career. The benefit of this thesis is to determine the incentive structure of volunteers from health and social institutions, and volunteers from the sporting and educational activities.
Evaluation of the Quality of Seniors´ Life in Homes for Seniors.

The dissertation describes the quality of seniors´ life in homes for seniors. It is difficult to create a generally valid definition of the quality of life because of multidimensional and objektive character of this problem. But it is possible to look for factors having influence on the quality of life and for understanding of needs connected with subjective perception of the quality of seniors' life. The definition of theoretical connections in the first part of the work is concentrated on the problem of growing old and old age in connection with looking into the quality of seniors? life. Special attention is payed to the problem of life quality in general with regard to the quality of seniors? life. In the research part there are results and their use in practice. A quantitative research strategy (especially a method of interwieving) was used to reach the research intent. The author of the dissertation has used a combination of three questionnaires created by the World Health Organization which are focused on seniors´ life quality research ? their standardized Czech version: WHOQOL?OLD, WHOQOL?BREF and the questionnaire concernig attitudes to growing old and old age ? AAQ. The main aim of the dissertation was to find out a level of the quality of seniors´ life in homes for seniors, to evaluate the quality of life in various life domains from the point of view of their importance for general satisfaction with the quality of life. The author has researched an influence of sociodemographical indicators on subjective perception of the quality of seniors´ life in homes for seniors. In the last part of the dissertation there are mentioned particular fields which influence the quality of seniors´ life and there are described factors participating in the quality of life. Paying attention to the quality of seniors´ life in homes for seniors not only by seniors themselves but also by managers of these facilities ? it is a practical benefit of author´s dissertation. Several homes for seniors have showed interest in cooperation to create manuals for key management.These manuals will become a methodical material for creation of individual plans for seniors in homes for seniors. Knowledge of factors impressing the quality of seniors´ life can help to define needs of seniors in homes for seniors and to make easier planning aims of provided services. Other practical benefit of this work is publishing a special scientific publication called Quality of seniors´ life in homes for seniors which will be published by Grada Publishing in August 2012. The theoretical solutions and research results of this dissertation will be presented here. The reason of choosing the theme ?Quality of seniors´ life in homes for seniors? was to show an importace of perception of a man based on bio-psycho-social and spiritual level including his subjective outlook on satisfaction of his personal needs. This philosophy is tightly connected with the quality of provided services in long-stay facilities. The quality of provided services can be judged according to objective indicators including subjective perception of particular users.
Current parents and their attitudes towards kindergarten

The objective of this Bachelor´s Thesis was to explore the experience of contemporary parents with a kindergarten, arising from their own experience from the time of their childhood, and which are the basis of their attitudes towards this institution. The Bachelor´s Thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I am concerned with the family, parentage, kindergarten, basic human needs and values in the contemporary society. In the practical part I discover the experience of the contemporary parents with the kindergarten from the time of their childhood, their attitudes, expectations and satisfaction with the current kindergarten, what changes they have experienced, what are the aspects of their choice of the kindergarten, and what values are important to them. The practical part is based upon a quantitative method-interview. The results of interviews with forty parents of preschool children are included.

The basic terms and theories needed to comprehend the subject are explained in the theoretical part of the work. The theoretical part of the work also focuses on employee benefits, mainly the goal of employee benefits and listing of currently available employee benefits. In the practical part of the work is an analysis and comparison of employee benefits used in two companies that are representing private and public sector and their influence on employee motivation.

The visitors motivation at the leisure centre Balón of the Salesian Youth Center in Pilsen

This thesis researches the factors motivating children attending the leisure centre Balón of the Salesian Youth Center. The theoretical part includes a basic explanation of the problem and describes here used terminology. I deal with the characteristics of the motivations and of the needs according to A. H. Maslow, also name the basic facts about the organization and closer specify profile of the leisure centre Balón. The essential part is a brief description of the Preventive System of Don Bosko. The practical part presents description of the methodology of the research. As an experimental method I have used the qualitative interview. The target was to find out what are the basic motivational factors to visit the leisure centre Balón. The results together with detailed characteristics of the respondents are processed in this section. The key areas of research were the basic motivation for participation, popular activities at the centre, the importance of relationships with staff and knowledge of similar organisations and experience with them. In terms of the interpretation of research, I make recommendations for practice, based on the finding learned from the respondents.
