Regional comparative analysis of mortality from selected diseases in Czechia and Sweden during the period 2001-2015 Abstract The aim of this thesis is analysis of the regional population mortality development due to two the most frequent groups causes of death related to the both sexes in Czechia and Sweden during the period 2001-2015. Standardized mortality rate is used for the assessment of mortality development in the monitored period. Two the most frequent causes of death for both sexes during the period 2001-2015 in Czechia and Sweden were cardiovascular diseases and neoplasms, which represented over half majority of all death causes. There was a significant mortality rate decline in case of both sexes in Czechia compared to Sweden in the reviewed period, however the standardized mortality rates were lower in the whole monitored period in Sweden. The most significant mortality rates decrease for both sexes in Czechia and Sweden was reported in case of cardiovascular diseases. Larger interregional mortality differences due to malignant neoplasms and cardiovascular diseases were registered in Czechia. Migration, foreigners and the city: socio-spatial differentiation and local social environment

1 Abstract Migration has been an inherent part of population development, and due to its role in shaping settlement system and societal changes also one of the key research interests of social geography. Due to the political regime and the limited movement across state borders, attention was predominantly given to internal migration in Czechia in the second half of the 20th century. Conversely, international migration has only been coming to the fore of academic debate since the 1990s. Despite the broad diversity of aspects of international migration in Czechia and the fact that the city has traditionally been the environment associated with the majority of immigrant population, little consideration has been given to the deeper understanding of the relationship between international migration, the presence of foreign citizens and the urban environment, especially foreigners' influence on socio-spatial differentiation and on social environment of particular urban locales. Czechia is a specific case: a country which was isolated from international migration for four decades became one of the main immigration countries in the post-socialist Central Europe after 1989. Marketing research, as far as it exists, is definitely an essential part of every company that provides products or services to customers. Marketing surveys show exact data and give their submitters important information and feedback. However, the process of creating marketing research of media also brings certain difficulties and specialties, with which the media market deals these days. This diploma thesis focuses especially on the process of creating surveys concerning television broadcast audience. The diploma thesis deals with the matters of measuring TV ratings. The first part of the work focuses on historical progress in this field since the introduction of TV broadcasting, the earliest measurements of TV audience, up to its current electronic form ? all concerning the Czech Republic and other foreign countries. The contemporary, electronic form, is thoroughly described in the thesis. An essential aspect of the work is information about the usage of the collected data by TV and the advertising market. Another part of the work concerns international comparison of similar projects focusing on audience measurement in selected countries. The last part of the thesis focuses on possible future of the measuring of audiovisual content ? touching upon consumer behavior. The research is mainly based on controlled interviews with TV or research field workers and on an analysis of available documents concerning this topic.
