The importace of education in the care of the newborn from the primipara's point of view
VIKTORÍNOVÁ, Petra
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic toled "The importace of education in the care of the newborn from the primipara's point of view". The thesis is dividend into two parts, a theoretical and a practical one. The theoretical part is focused on the isme of education, where the main concepts of education, methods and forms are described, as well as the educational process. The thesis also explains the koncept of physiological newborn and its care especially in the rooming-in and home care system. In the practical part, there several goals of the thesis are determined. The first objektive is to find out how primiparas are educated in newborn care, and then to map and evaluace the process of primipara's education by nurses and midwives in the care of the newborn. Based on these objectives, the following research questions have been drawn up: "What is the level of education by nurses and midwives? What is the extent of women's education in neonatal care? How educated are women in newborn care? " The research was carried out in the form of qualitative research, hen the data were collected using the interviewing method and the depth-interview technique. The research was conducted in April 2017. The data were subsequently processed on the computer and analyzed by open encoding. During the research, there one research group of primiparas in the puerperium was being worked with. On the basis of the analysis, four categories were evaluated in the group of primiparas during the puerperium period (Pre-Child Awareness, Scope of Education, Method of Education and Level of Education). Subcategories have been created for each category. Individual categories and subcategories are processed into organized schemes. The results show that education is relativem good. It is clear that today women use the Internet a lot. In terms of education it self, it has been found that women are educated in all areas of neonatal care such as breastfeeding, diapering and bathing. Somewhere the manipulation is explained by nurses separately, on the other hand, some of them involve manipulation in another area. Nurses usually educate a woman individually, but hen two women are in one room, they are educated together and the show is done on one newborn. Within the framework of education, women are provided with printed materials, variol leaflets and brochures. It has been shown that education is most frequently done by the method of interpretation with a sample, where the nurse at the same time explains the principles of particular performance. There was no great dissatisfaction with the research. I think that for every primipara, education has to be somehow important, especially if she does not have any informatik before the childbirth and therefore does not know how to take care of the newborn. An educational plan was created and it was based on this thesis.
Educations of mothers in the handing of the newborn
SEDLÁČKOVÁ, Natálie
This bachelor thesis deals with the education of mothers in manipulation with a newborn. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis deals with and describes the basics of the educational process, education in nursing and midwifery and in the end concludes what the education of a mother in education of a newborn should contain. The other chapters of the theoretical part inform readers about the neonatal period and about the principles of proper manipulation at each action. The research part of the bachelor thesis deals primarily with skills of mothers at the manipulation with a newborn. Two research goals were set in advance. The first goal of the bachelor thesis was to find out about skills of mothers in manipulation with a newborn. The second goal was to reeducate mothers, who did not know the right answer in the interview or those mothers, who did not keep the safety principles of manipulation with a newborn. Three questions coresponded with the mentioned goals. The first question has to find out, to what extent are women educated in the principles and safety of care about a newborn, the second question asks in what way are mothers educated and the last question takes interest in at what level are the skills of mothers in manipulation with a newborn. The research survey has been conducted in the Hospital of České Budějovice, a.s. The research file consisted of mothers who were three days after the physiological birth giving in the department of childbed. This survey has been conducted qualitatively, interviews and observations were used to reach the goal. Seven mothers took part in the qualitative survey. The interview included eleven questions, which collected information on knowledge of the mother gained by education. The women were overall educated about the care of a newborn, when it comes to a safe manipulation they were educated properly about the basic actions which they would not do without at home. Among these actions we have included for the observation bath, nursing, belching, overcarrying and changing dipers of the baby. About these actions are women in the Hospital of České Budějovice a.s. educated most, a lot of time is dedicated to them, because the education does not involve only the oral transfer of information but mainly practical demonstration and training of skills. The output of the bachelor thesis is an informative leaflet aimed at the principles of the right communication with the newborn, which can be used in practice as a help for mothers in the department of childbed.
Midwife education on the prevention of breast cancer
SAMCOVÁ, Kateřina
Bachelor thesis deals with the role of midwife in education about the prevention of breast cancer, which is necessary. This thesis is focused on all types of prevention, from primary to quaternary. The greatest emphasis is placed on primary and secondary prevention. Primary prevention mainly consists of the healthy lifestyle, elimination of risk factors, posibility of genetic testing and chemoprevention for high-risk women, etc. Secondary prevention is focused on the search for women with a risk of developing breast cancer. The best known methods are mammographic screening, ultrasound examination or breast self-examination. The objective of mentioned options is to detect the cancer disease in the stage, when is possible the most effective treatment with the greatest chance of a complete healing. The task of the midwife is on the basis of their knowledge to educate women about the disease itself, but also about preventive options. Midwife has to follow the principles of proper management during this education. The most important thing is to established friendly and trustful relationship in a peaceful environment. The essential task of the midwife is to motivate a "woman" to be really interested in her health condition and convince her to not underestimate prevention of this disease. The objective of this thesis was to investigate how women evaluate the education from midwife about the prevention of breast cancer. The research was conducted on the basis of a qualitative survey using techniques of interviews. The examined group was based on 8 women in age from 18 to 70 years. All the interviews were made anonymously with the preservation of their privacy. With the agreement of respondents were all interviews recorded on tape, transcribed and subsequently analyzed by the method of "pencil paper". The results were processed into three main categories, which were further divided into subcategories. The first question of research was adressed to how are women educated about the prevention of breast cancer. None of the respondents has never been educated from midwife, like the main source of information were described doctors or internet. The second question of research examined which information are received by women from midwives. It was found that none of the respondents were never been educated and it means that they never received any information. Most of women would really appreciate the information from midwife, specially about self-examination of the breast. The third question of research was dedicated to the preview of women on the prevention of breast cancer. Each of the respondents has same opinion that prevention is really important. Most of them are trying to follow it, but in fact insufficiently. The results of research revealed that women should be more educated by midwives about preventive possibilities, especially in self-examination of the breast. This examination is performed by most of the respondents, but not always in the right way. The research work shows that women are unsufficiently informed from the side of midwife. For this reason it is necessary to motivate midwives to educate their patients about the prevention of breast cancer. Mentioned information would be really appreciated by respondents, particularly about the self-examination of the breast. Based on the results of this research was created information leaflet for women about self-examination of the breast. These instructions should help them to perform self-examination correctly.
The nurse-led education process for patients suffering from Crohn disease
KUBIČKOVÁ, Jesika
With a topic of "The nurse-led education process for patients suffering from Crohn disease" , the thesis aims to map and describe education process of patients suffering from Crohn's disease led by a nurse. We focus on nurse's educational activity aimed at patients with Crohn's disease. Our main goal was to find out how well patients are educated in terms of their disease, to determine whether patients tend to follow lifestyle recommendations and to map the education process being performed by nurses in the gastroenterological inpatient and outpatient department. To achieve our goal we have set five research questions as following. What is the educational reality of giving information to patients inside the healthcare facility? What are the barriers between a patient and educational strategies used by nurse? How do nurses rate patients' cooperation during the education process? What do patients lack in educational process? We have chosen qualitative approach using semi-structured interview to achieve our goal. The research sample consisted of six probands diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Another six probands are employed as general nurse in gastroenterological department. The results of the research showed that skills and knowledge of Crohn's disease are viewed by all of the probands as insufficient. The research has also found a problem regarding education of patients with Crohn's disease. Nurses provide only little education and only in several topics. Our research opens up an opportunity to perform deeper studies focused on knowledge of patients suffering from Crohn's disease and nurse's attitude towards enhancing the quality of education.
Role of nurse in education of a patient with trombophilia mutation
KOHOUTOVÁ, Denisa
The present bachelor thesis deals with the issue of education of patients with thrombophilic mutation. The aim of this work was to find out how patients are satisfied with the education about thrombophilic mutation provided by nurses, to map education of patients with thrombophilic mutation at paediatric and gynaecologic outpatient departments. Two research questions were set to achieve the goals. How education of patients with thrombophilic mutation is performed at paediatric and gynaecologic outpatient departments? What questions are most frequently asked by patients with thrombophilic mutation within their education? A qualitative approach was chosen to the research, namely the method of semi-structured interview. We focused on the education process implementation from the point of view of a nurse and a patient. The research sample consisted of 6 respondents with thrombophilic mutation diagnosed. There were only girls 20-29 years old. Next 6 respondents were general nurses working at the gynaecologic and paediatric departments, with the outpatient surgeries and the clinical haematology department. The research results have shown that the knowledge and skills in thrombophilic mutation are insufficient in the addressed research sample at some departments. The research has also revealed a problem in relation to the education of patients with thrombophilic mutation. Nurses only perform education in thrombophilic mutation to a small extent and only some topics, they leave most of it up to physicians. This research gives possibilities to make a research of wider and more detailed extent focused on the knowledge among patients with thrombophilic mutation and the position of a nurse within education quality improvement.
The cooperation of a nurse with nutritional therapist during the care of a patient with an ulcerative colitis.
KALMÁROVÁ, Diana
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine the cooperation of a nurse and nutritional therapist while taking care of the client with diagnosed ulcerative colitis. The paper is divided into a theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part the author deals with the anatomy and physiology of the colon, the characteristics of ulcerative colitis, its etiology and pathogenesis, clinical picture, complications, diagnosis, treatment and special measures regime. Here, it discusses nursing care for clients with ulcerative colitis, preparation of a client for an endoscopic examination and client´s informative education. The final chapter of the theoretical part focuses on the multidisciplinary team, workplace relationships and after that nurse and/or nutritional therapist competences. The qualitative research was carried out for the empirical part of the thesis. The selected method of data collection was semi-structured interviews with nurses, nutritional therapists and patients with ulcerative colitis. These clients were deliberately selected providing that they have been currently or lately hospitalized in the inpatients departments due to the deterioration in health concerning ulcerative colitis. Interview questions designed for nurses regarded the availability of a nutrition therapist for their department, co-operation with this specialist, educational materials available along with the way the nurse educates the patient and nurses' knowledge of the issue. Nutrition therapist questions focused on their collaboration with nurses in inpatient departments, information transmission, clients´ education and their feedback collection. At the interviews with clients we determined dieting and raising awareness of the diet, the source of the acquired information and the interest of nurses to improve the nutrition of each client while hospitalized. On the basis of respondents' answers, we successfully worked out responses to research questions. Research question no. 1 how nurses collaborate with nutritional therapists in the care for patients with ulcerative colitis in the inpatient department- emerged that nurses in these departments did not come in contact with nutritional therapists at all, so they could not cooperate so that the exchange of essential information would take place only by reading through the client's medical record. Furthermore, from nurses' and clients' statements, the way a nurse primarily educates a client with ulcerative colitis in terms of nutrition is commonly just done by giving out printed information brochures or leaflets available at the department. The prime source of nutrition information for clients is usually their physician while diagnosing. Clients can learn more thanks to nurses, nutrition therapists and they also search for information themselves. Four out of five respondents claimed they still do not have enough relevant information about their diet. Attention must be given to ensure clients get to reliable information sources in order not to be a subject to the misleading information presented on the Internet and therefore for instance stick to improper diets. Education provided by nurse and nurses' knowledge in this field can thus have a direct impact on client´s health as much as the collaboration with a nutritional therapist, which could help the nurse to test the client's knowledge of nutrition therapy education. The acquired knowledge can demonstrate the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration not only in the care of clients with diagnosed ulcerative colitis but also the significance of nurse´s education, which is often needful support and safety for the client during his hospitalization.
The Nurse's Role in the Education of Adolescents on the Risk of Lung Cancer Within Primary Prevention.
BENEŠ, Jiří
The submitted bachelor thesis deals with the problematics of education of teenagers at the risk of lung cancer within the primary prevention. The goal of our thesis was to determine the knowledge of teenagers related to prevention of lung cancer. To determine whether teenagers try to take precautions and also to chart the educational proccess provided by a nurse in the pulmonary department and at the practitioner, in connection with lung cancer. To fulfill the goals we have used the help of the three following questions. What knowledge do teenagers have about the primary prevention of lung cancer? How do they take precautions to lung cancer? What does the educational proccess, led by a nurse at a practitioner and in the pulmonary department of teenagers about lung cancer, look like? For the execution of the research survey we have chosen the qualitative approach with the help of a semi-structured interview. The research sample consisted of 8 probands aged 15-21 years. 4 of them were smokers and 4 non-smokers, women and men. The other 4 probands were employed in the area of a general nurse or a pediatric nurse and they worked in the pulmonary department or at the practitioner. Results of the research survey have shown that the knowledge and skills in the area of prevention of lung cancer are deficient in the by us chosen research sample. Furthermore, the research survey has revealed a problem connected to the education of teenagers at the side of nurses. The range of the education carried out by nurses is very narrow and only if they found a person a risky one. Our research survey opens a space for deeper surveys aimed at health education of teenagers regarding the harmful effects of smoking and at the role of a nurse within raising the education.
