The role of "silence" in child second language interaction
Sieglová, Dagmar ; Nekvapil, Jiří (advisor) ; Čmejrková, Světla (referee) ; Ferenčík, Milan (referee)
This dissertation elaborates on the topic of second language interaction while addressing dilemmas of the relationship between the two distinctive, yet interdependent disciplines - second language acquisition (SLA) and conversation analysis (CA). The main attention is devoted to the role of 'silence' in child SLA. While the acquisition of second languages has been a prominent topic of research across linguistic disciplines, most SLA oriented studies are primarily focused on the learner's language development. The time preceding the onset of talk, generally called the 'silent period', thus, has received only a minor attention. It is predominantly the methodology based on cognitive and psycho linguistic traditions that restricts the SLA research to generative views, that is, focused on linguistic issues in isolation from other contextual aspects. Such an approach misinterprets a 'silent' learner as a rather passive, uncreative, routine or an imitating communicator. Conversation analysis (CA) methodology, on the other hand, focused on contextual aspects of talk-in-interaction than on the language itself, can take the notion of 'silence' within the SLA out of its linguistic isolation. This project shows that seen through the lens of CA, 'silence' can serve as an efficient and resourceful child second language...

Infrastructure for Deployment of Heterogeneous Component-based Applications
Šafrata, Pavel ; Hnětynka, Petr (referee) ; Bulej, Lubomír (advisor)
Deployment is a process which involves all actions performed with an application after it is released. Traditionally, deployment has been addressed for each component model separately (if at all), even though most of the concepts are the same. The Deployment and Configuration of Component-based Applications Specification released by OMG proposes a unified approach that can be tailored to different component models. This thesis focuses on the execution phases of the deployment process. It presents a generic deployment runtime based on the OMG specification. The main objective is to elaborate support for multiple component models and subsequently support for heterogeneous applications consisting of components implemented in different component models. This has been achieved through a system of extensions which allows isolating component model specifics from the runtime. Even though the OMG specification was not originally intended to support heterogeneous applications, the implementation deviates from it only in a few points. In all such cases, the thesis presents an analysis of the situation and rationale for the deviation.

Devices of radiation protection on the new nuclear source
LEŠTINA, Lukáš
The aim of the bachelor thesis is mapping the market with portable radiation protection devices offered by manufacturers specialized in nuclear measurement electronics, like Thermo Scientific, Canberra Packard and VF Černá Hora and subsequent comparison of for the purpose of finding operationally optimal solution of portable instrument for measurement of radiation quantities on a new nuclear source. At the beginning the reader is familiarized with occurrence of ionizing radiation, physical principles the instruments are based on and the radiation quantities by which the instruments interpret the final values. There is a description of the present state of portable measurement technologies used by radiation protection staff at Temelín Nuclear Plant. The description includes basic information, photos and specifications. A methodology with criteria of selection of new portable instruments was elaborated upon experience with the plant operation. Selected instruments from the large range by nuclear electronics manufacturers are described in an extra chapter. The discussion focuses on user comfort and suitability of the instruments based on the real situation of Temelín Nuclear Plant. Attention is also paid to versatility of the instruments and possibilities of their extension by additional devices like external probes of dose equivalent input, surface contamination or probes measuring dose equivalent input of neutrons. The instruments should correspond to the needs of the radiation protection staff as much as possible, so as they are able to fulfil the programme of monitoring on a new nuclear source in the most efficient manners.

Radiation Dose In Branch Of Interventional Radiology.
ŠPERLOVÁ, Šárka
This Bachelor Thesis deals with the issue of radiation load and its impacts on the patient and doctor during the interventional medical help under skiascopy control. The content of the theoretical part describes the medical operations which are carried out, together with the issue of radiation protection within this field with regard to the medical and professional radiation exposure. The main objective of this work determines the estimation of efficient doses of the patient and doctor resulting in the conclusions leading to the decreasing level of radiation load for both parties. For these purposes one-year data were collected into the general database. The PCXMC program was used for calculating efficient doses of the patients collected from the DAP meter. Consequently, collected information regarding the dosage of the patient and doctor were elaborated in the form of charts and graphs. The conclusions were deduced on the basis of available data concluding the hypothesis related to the dependence of radiation rate on the type of medical treatment. It was proved that the highest dosage was achieved with regard to the patients during the embolic medical operations. The lowest dosage for the examining person is during PTD and nefrostomy. The doctors are maximally exposed to the radiation during the liver intervention ? especially during TIPS. The lowest doses received by the doctor were shown during the thrombolytic medical operations. The recommendation leading to the reduction of radiation load at the given workplace of interventional radiology was thus concluded from available information. Besides the correct parameter setting of the appropriate equipment, such as voltage, C-arm´s displacement or OK distance, consistent shielding is also important, especially the use of protective equipment (apron, collars and glasses) and more frequent switching shifts of the personnel

The assessment of the financial situation of a particular firm
MARŠÍKOVÁ, Alena
The topic of my bachelor thesis is the financial analysis of a particular firm. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of financial analysis and its role in the enterprise management, the definition of the methods of financial analysis. And it then focuses on the indicators of ratio analyses such as liquidity, profitability, indebtedness, aktivity and market efficiency. I have done the financial analysis of the agricultural cooperative Krásná Hora nad Vltavou /joint-stock company/ and I have compared it with another agricultural cooperative whose name may not be published, I called it: the company number two. The methodology is the part which tries to outline a way of calculating indicators. The practical part consists of calculation of the ratios compared with another company in the field, the interpretation of results and the evaluation of the economic situation of the company. Finally I propose the concrete measures that should lead to greater business efficiency and profitability.
