Comparison of selected European riding schools and riding education system in the Czech Republic

Title of the work: Comparison of selected European riding schools and riding education system in the Czech Republic Work goals: Mention all available riding schools in the Czech Republic, their description and comparison with selected European riding schools Methods: Analysis of literature sources and other available materials, description of individual programs of the mentioned schools, comparison based on the results of the individual schools and the level of their alumni Conclusion: The level of riding education in the Czech Republic is lower than in the compared foreign schools. The selected European schools have much longer tradition and also more elaborate education system. The Czech Republic faces lack of qualified trainers, as well as lack of funds. The success of the riding schools alumni is much higher at the foreign schools than in the Czech Republic, which is caused both by the level of the alumni and more work opportunities abroad.

Title: Analysis of dog interventions at the Association of Rescue Brigades of Cynologists of the Czech Republic Objectives: The main aim of the diploma thesis is the analysis of dog interventions at the Association of Rescue Brigades of Cynologists of the Czech Republic and analysis of tests of the Association of Rescue Brigades of Cynologists organized according to the National Examination Regulations of the Association of Rescue Brigades of Cynologists from 1 May 2016 to 31 December 2020. Another aim of the thesis is to summarize the history, current activities and involvement of the Union of Rescue Brigades of Cynologists of the Czech Republic within the IRS. Methods: Theoretical background was developed on the basis of searche of books and legislation. Using the method of content analysis key terms are defined, which includes IRS, IRS components, SZBK CR. The practical part of this diploma thesis was pepared based on descriptive statistics method. Title: Analysis of dog interventions at the Association of Rescue Brigades of Cynologists of the Czech Republic Objectives: The aim of the diploma thesis is the analysis of dog interventions at the Association of Rescue Brigades of Cynologists of the Czech Republic. The analysis of the obtained data was performed and the method of synthesis was used for their connection. Title: Analysis of the activities of the mounted police in the Czech Republic and municipal mounted police in Prague. Objectives: Comparison of selection and training of police horse. Comparison of hippologic activities of the mounted police and municipal mounted police in Prague. Data analysis of activities of the mounted police since 2015 till 2019. Patrol analysis activity of the municipal mounted police in Prague in 2019 and comparison with the mounted police patrol activity in the Czech Republic. Methods: Data collection from the head of the mounted police of the Czech Republic in Prague and the head of the municipal mounted police in Prague. Study of available literature and subsequent research. Data analysis from Czech police was divided according to the types of interventions, locations and frequency for every single year. The data comparison with the municipal mounted police in Prague was based on frequency of patrol activities in 2019. Srovnání metody horsemanshipu a anglického stylu ježdění

The objective of the thesis entitled The Comparison of the Horsemanship Method and the English Riding Style is to characterise the horsemanship method and the English riding style on the basis of literature search, to describe and compare the two methods in the monitored groups of horses as regards the ground work, saddle breaking and under-saddle work, and to generally compare horsemanship and English riding. The literature review describes the characteristics, principles and recommended training practices for the two methods under comparison. The practical part of this thesis compares the two methods of horse training. A comparative report has been created as a supporting tool to assess the training of ten horses. The assessment and subsequent comparison were based on four aspects: the physical and the mental aspects of the horse, the rider's confidence in the horse, and time in order to consider all the factors involved in horse training. Furthermore, the thesis characterises the monitored horses and the training used, providing a comparison for each of the training stages – ground work, saddle breaking and work under saddle. The thesis concludes by providing a general comparison of the two horse training methods. Horsemanship showed better outcomes as regards the physical and the mental aspects of the horse as well as the rider’s confidence in the horse. On the contrary, the horses trained using the English riding style took less time to train. The biggest differences were observed in the early stages of training.

This bachelor thesis deals with the preparation of a horse for work from the ground. The implementation of individual basic exercises is included. In the theoretical part, a research about the ethology of horses was made. The following chapter describes the work with the foal in the period before and after weaning and there is a subchapter about the fear of horses. The fifth chapter is about methods of working with the horse from the ground, preparing the horse and exercising itself. The sixth chapter introduces the stable where the horses were trained. The seventh chapter is devoted to the results and the eighth is discussion. Photos of the practical part are attached at the end.

Canine service in the components of the integrated rescue system

Title: Canine service in the Integrated Rescue Systém Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the current possibilities of using dogs in components of the integrated rescue system. Methods: A combination of several scientific explanatory methods, especially logical ones, was used to achieve the objectives. Analysis and synthesis methods that are interrelated and verified are the main methods used. The research conducted within the bachelor thesis was focused primarily on the possibility of using dogs in various components of the integrated rescue system. The aim of this bachelor thesis was defined on the basis of acquired knowledge. Individual tasks were deduced from the aim of the work. Results: The result of this thesis is that our "four-legged colleagues" are an integral part individual components of the integrated rescue system. Woman and War: Czechoslovak Women serving during the Second World War in the British Auxiliary Services ATS. and WAAF

The dissertation thesis describes and analyses military service of Czechoslovak women in British army namely in ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service) and WAAF (Women's Auxiliary Air Force) units. First Czechoslovak women joined British armed forces in mid 1941 and served directly on the British soil in the Army and Airforce bases. Other Czechoslovak women joined ATS and WAAF in the Middle East campaing since 1943. During the WWII more than two hundreds Czechoslovak citizens served in the auxillary units. The thesis describes the course of WAAF/ATS training, working set up and everyday life in the military with all pros and cons linked. The text further deals with the approach of the Czechoslovak exile institutions e.g. National Defence ministry, towards Czechoslovak women serving in the foreign army. One of the main topics is finding answer to question why Czechoslovakian women could serve only in the army of the allied state and if there were ever thoughts or plans for creation of similar unit directly with Czechoslovak foreign units. This is being considered in the broader context of British environment and war policy.
