Cutting of Water Jet
Zouhar, Ondřej ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Osička, Karel (advisor)
The work developed in the master's program, describes the technology of water jet cutting. The theoretical part deals with the description of this technology and it explains the basic concepts used in this field. The practical part was designed to verify some theoretical knowledge. Therefore, several experiments were performed, while there was studied the influence of abrasives on the final quality of the surface and the level of the generated noise. The practical part was completed by the production of the selected component and its technical and economic evaluation.
The unconventional Method of Cutting Water Jet
Prax, Ondřej ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Osička, Karel (advisor)
The master thesis contains a literature search dealing with the unconventional technology of water jet cutting. The first part is aimed to description of the water jet technology and shows the possibilities of controlling and awarding data for cutting. Follows the chapter about the influences of the input parameters to a surface quality and machining accuracy. The thesis also giving an account of ecological factors of the water jet cutting. The description of the whole technology for production of the sprocket is a part of the thesis. The last part of the thesis is solving the economics of the water jet cutting technology, especially for production of the sprocket with comparing dependency of the cutting conditions.
Utilization unconventional beam technology (LASER/water jet) in machine
Horáček, Lukáš ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Osička, Karel (advisor)
This thesis deal with utilization unconventional beam technology (LASER/ water jet) in machine. The aim works is analysis technological possibility method laser and analysis technological possibility method water jet. Further aim of this work is mutual trade-off of the both methods unconventional beam technology and technical economic interpretation.
Use of Unconventional Method WJM in Condition a Small Firm
Masařík, Adam ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the possibility of using the technology of water jet for stack cutting. The theoretical part deals with two types of water jets used for cutting materials and their appropriate and inappropriate application. It also includes a description of basic elements of a water jet cutting machine. In the practical part of this thesis a few samples of a component are made by abrasive water jet stack cutting. The impact of this cutting method on production costs and cutting quality is assessed afterwards.
Water Jet Cutting
Odehnal, Ondřej ; Fic, Miloslav (referee) ; Kárník, Jan (advisor)
The following bachelor’s thesis deals with an unconventional technology of waterjet cutting. Content of the thesis is focused on the description of the technology, basic classification and description of utilization methods. Machinery used in this technology is described below. At the beginning, this work introduces the history and describes the principle of the water jet. Following is the classification of the methods used for water jet. The most important components of devices operating with this technology are described in the next section. The last part is the description and evaluation of an experimental verification of theoretical knowledge. The quality of cut and the behavior of the water jet was examined for different cutting parameters on cutting samples. Evaluation of the thesis is included in the conclusion.
A COMPARISON OF THE WATER JET CUTTING AND LASER TECHNOLOGIES
Chamrad, Jakub ; Zlámal, Jan (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the introduction of non-conventional technology into the manufacturing workplace, mainly water jet and laser cutting. The first two chapters are research about water jet machining and laser. A practical part of my thesis was carried out with the assistance of Honeywell and involved comparing the efficiency of an older laser cutting machine against and new one for water jet machining.
The Use of a Waterjet Technique in Finishing Operations
Jantač, Marek ; Osička, Karel (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with abrasive waterjet cutting. In the first part we dis-cuss the possibility of using an abrasive jet in various industries, its advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, abrasive jet machining methods such as cutting, turning and milling. Then focuses on the technology at AWAC company, which were cut off samples for subsequent measurement. The aim of the measurements was to determine and compare the surface roughness of the samples were cut at different parameters.
CFD model of multiphase flow in the abrasive water jet tool
Říha, Zdeněk
The possibility of using CFD fluid flow modeling in area of tools with abrasive water jet is described in the paper. The correct function of such tool is based on proper setting of multiphase flow of water, air and solid particles in the inner space of the tool. The multiphase fluid flow numerical simulation can provide information which show relation between the geometry and the flow field. Then, this stable CFD model of multiphase flow creates key to design of the tool able to work with higher efficiency.
Hydro-abrasive machining of rotating workpieces from graphite and aluminium alloy
Cárach, J. ; Hloch, Sergej ; Klich, Jiří ; Hlaváček, Petr ; Klichová, Dagmar
The paper compares the quality of machined surface of graphite and aluminium alloy by abrasive water jet using the focusing tube with a diameter of df1 = 0.5 mm and df2 = 0.78 mm. The machining was carried out using the technology of rotating workpiece disintegration by abrasive water jet. Abrasive tangential water jet was used to carry out the experiment (water pressure p = 400 MPa). Workpieces were clamped in the rotating chucking appliance with rotation frequency n = 300 min-1. The change in focusing tube diameter caused the change in values of roughness parameters, and also caused the change of resulting shape of workpieces. Values of roughness parameters were measured using the MicroProf FRT optic profilometer.
The measurement of the velocity of abrasive particles at the suction part of the cutting head
Foldyna, Josef ; Zeleňák, Michal ; Klich, Jiří ; Hlaváček, Petr ; Sitek, Libor
To be able to optimize the design of the abrasive cutting head using numerical simulation, it is necessary to gather as much information about processes occurring in the cutting head as possible. The development of the numerical model of processes occurring in the abrasive water jet cutting head during the process of creation and forming of abrasive water jet is currently in progress at the Institute of Geonics in Ostrava. The verification of the model requires, among others, to determine the behaviour of abrasive particles at the input of the cutting head. Therefore, the visualisation of abrasive particles at the input using various parameters of abrasive jet and its subsequent analysis was performed using shadowgraphy (backlighting) technique and the results are presented in the paper.
