Assessment of Long-Term Soil Loss on Selected Slopes Using the USLE Equation
SUTTIKHANA, Itthanan
This study presents an assessment of long-term soil loss on selected slopes in both the Czech Republic and Thailand utilizing the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). Soil erosion poses a significant threat to agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability worldwide, highlighting the importance of understanding erosion dynamics and implementing effective mitigation measures. The research focuses on experimental plots in the Czech Republic's South Bohemia region and Thailand's Sadao district, examining factors contributing to soil erosion and evaluating the efficacy of soil conservation practices. Results indicate notable disparities in soil erosion rates between the two regions, influenced by varying environmental conditions, land use practices, and topographical features. Despite comprehensive soil conservation measures recommended by the Department of Land Development in Thailand, challenges in implementation persist due to limited resources and expertise. The study underscores the urgent need for tailored soil conservation strategies to address specific erosion challenges faced by each region. By integrating site-specific data and recommendations, policymakers, land managers, and researchers can collaborate to promote sustainable land management practices and safeguard soil resources against erosion threats. Continued monitoring and assessment efforts are crucial to track the effectiveness of mitigation measures and ensure the long-term resilience of ecosystems and agricultural systems.

Hopes and Limits of Fair Trade from a Socio-economic Perspective
KOTRČOVÁ, Michaela
The work deals with the topic of fair trade from a socio-economic point of view, with the aim of describing the main historical milestones of fair trade and answering the set research questions. In the first part of the work, the key aspects of fair trade, its historical development and the benefits and limitations of this business model are identified through literature research. Using the results obtained as part of a questionnaire survey, the empirical part examines the behavior, knowledge and awareness of consumers about the concept of fair trade, which turns out to be very narrow. It also provides an insight into the factors that have the greatest influence on the support of fair trade in companies selling fair trade products. It turns out that profit is not the most important factor. Last but not least, it was found that companies see the future in fair trade and continue to plan to sell these products.
The energy crisis and its possible solutions in a selected municipality in the Czech Republic
NOVOTNÁ, Karolína
The thesis focuses on the energy crisis and its alternative solutions within a selected municipality. Three research methods were used in the thesis, namely a questionnaire survey, a household real consumption survey and a semi-structured interview. The aim of the thesis was to find an alternative solution and then to determine the willingness of the residents of the selected municipality to accept it, given a higher price offer, in relation to the completed education of the individual and his/her income category. A biogas plant located near the selected village was offered as an alternative source of electricity, where the aforementioned interview was also conducted. The interview served to establish the feasibility of this proposed solution. The work was conducted as a community energy sector model where the biggest source would be a biogas plant.
Tax Burden on Road Transport in the Czech Republic
ZOBALOVÁ, Kristýna
The diploma thesis provides an overview of the tax burden in the field of road transport in the Czech Republic. Initially, it broadly outlines the topic of taxes in road transport, identifying issues related to the taxation of time- based and performance-based fees. Subsequently, a detailed comparison of fees and tax burdens on freight vehicle operators in the Czech Republic is conducted, comparing them with selected EU member states. This comparative approach includes an analysis of time-based taxation, income taxes, road tax, excise taxes, performance-based fees, and value-added tax. A comparative analysis of tax burdens was conducted using cluster analysis. The aim was to evaluate the values of individual taxes and fees among selected EU member states. The findings suggest that the Czech Republic exhibits specific characteristics of tax burden in road transport, such as higher road tax compared to the EU average. Conversely, in terms of personal income tax, it has a lower level compared to the EU average, whereas the situation is opposite for corporate income tax. This analysis offers a comprehensive view of the tax policy of the Czech Republic compared to other EU member states. The results indicate that the tax burden in road transport in the Czech Republic significantly differs from the EU average and other observed countries, particularly showing relatively higher levels of road tax and value-added tax. These specific characteristics underscore the need for a thorough evaluation of the Czech tax system in road transport in the context of future development. They present both a challenge and an opportunity for future adjustments and optimization aimed at more efficient and fairer taxation, thereby supporting sustainable development of transportation in the country.
Personality of Manager and its Development
EKTOVA, Marina
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the development of managerial personality and examines how theoretical knowledge on the topic can be applied in real work environment to support the personal growth and professional development of managers. The aim is to evaluate personality characteristics of three selected managers and propose methods for developing their personalities. The MBTI personality test, the Belbin Team Roles test and the management coaching are used to achieve this goal. The coach guides managers towards self-reflection, enabling them to clearly define their specific goals, identify potential obstacles, and ways to achieve them. Furthermore, considering the preferences and requirements of managers, suitable practices for further developing managerial personality are proposed, and calculations of expected financial and time costs associated with their implementation are compiled. Manager A is characterized as a charismatic extroverted leader with developed strategic thinking and aims to enhance his time management skills. Manager B, a humane introvert and "teamworker", aims to improve his English language proficiency. Manager C is an ambitious and decisive leader with the goal of constantly developing of his professional competencies and managerial skills. The calculations show that the time and financial costs of achieving the set goals may vary depending on the method chosen by managers. Recommended development methods include offline or online courses, workshops, self-study, development programs, internships, webinars, coaching, trainings, and can be implemented both in groups and individually or realized directly within the organization.
Social Impacts in Transport in the Aspect of the Circular Economy
KNÍŽETOVÁ, Alexandra
The aim of the work was to evaluate selected social impacts of transport in the aspect of the circular economy based on the performed analysis. Selected impacts include GDP, emissions and energy consumption in road freight transport. The fourth variable of the analysis is the transport performance of this transport. The research question focuses on the long-term links between the monitored variables, grouped into pairs. The chosen methodological procedure assesses the presence of a cointegrating relationship as a long-term link between variables. The strongest links were recorded between energy consumption and transport performance, and between emissions and transport performance. This results in a proposal to improve the situation, which is based on the principles of the circular economy, specifically on the preference for combined transport with lower energy and emission demands.
Regeneration of brownfields in the South Bohemian Region
ŠÁDKOVÁ, Pavla
The thesis on the topic of Brownfield Regeneration in the South Bohemian Region deals with a comprehensive approach to the analysis and regeneration of brownfields in the South Bohemian Region. The main objective of the thesis is to analyse and synthesize the ecological, social, and economic impacts of brownfield and greenfield regeneration on selected sites in the South Bohemian Region. A combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods was used to achieve the goals of the thesis. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on defining the issues of brownfields, evaluating the development and current state. It includes possible ways of classifying brownfields and methods of financing. In the second, practical part, a comparison of selected brownfields and greenfields in the South Bohemian Region is conducted. The sites are evaluated according to the model of the South Bohemian Region, which is based on a study by the German Ministry of the Environment and is based on the scoring of given criteria and their parameters. The model consists of 3 criteria - potential from the perspective of the municipality, potential from the perspective of the investor, and the change in the value of the site. Based on these, the significance of the sites is evaluated. Through the comparison of the Preference Index, the thesis subsequently presents a selection of sites suitable for implementation, including a proposal for future use. The outputs of the thesis contribute to a deeper understanding of the issues of brownfield regeneration and offer suggestions for the effective use of the potential of these sites to support the local economy and improve the quality of life for residents.
