BASEL II vs BASEL III and the Impact of the New Regulatory Rules on the Czech Banking Sector
Kubíček, Antonín ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor) ; Janda, Karel (referee)
The aims of this thesis are twofold. Firstly, it aims to analyse the new regulatory rules BASEL III, published in December 2010. These were created as a lesson from the previous crisis and following the developments occurring problem areas included in the regulatory rules Basel II. And secondly, it evaluates their impact on the Czech Banking Sector. Regulatory rules BASEL III contain large number of rules aimed at enhancing the quality, quantity and flexibility of regulatory equity capital, reducing the cyclicality of capital requirements, stricter capital requirements for certain risky assets, intensifying surveillance in terms of significantly important financial institutions and international standards of liquidity. Apart from adjustment of the rules that appear in the Basel II, the regulatory rules Basel III also include rules used for the first time. The analysis of the impact on the Czech banking sector is based on the assumption that the Czech banking sector is well equipped with capital and the impact of BASEL III will therefore not have any significant impact on the functioning of Czech banks. This thesis shows that the impacts depend on the size of the banking institutions. A selected sample of six Czech banks (two from each group of large, medium and small banks) is used, inter alia, to demonstrate this.

Produkce bioplynu a dostupnost technologií v mezinárodním měřítku
Sívek, Ondřej
Currently the great emphasis is placed on how to obtain the energy. Energy is an essential component of life of people around the world and most activities can hardly be carried out without it. As the world population grows, the energy demands are also increasing, and it is vital to seek available sources. Linked to this is the question of depletion of non-renewable sources, in case of energy especially the fossil fuels. They not only are increasingly less available and the obtaining more expensive, but the consumption also harms the environment. One possible solution is offered by the renewable sources of energy, mostly solar, wind, hydro and biomass. The last mentioned is the subject of this thesis, namely its use for the production of biogas. This technology is based on the natural fermentation process using biomass as raw material and producing a gas rich in methane. Thanks to biomass as an input, this technology is close to globally applicable and can bring solutions to energy issues in both developing and developed countries.

A method for determining the effect of osmotic stress on the physiological state of brewer´s yeast and the course of main fermentation
Sigler, Karel ; Matoulková, D. ; Kosař, K.
The methodology concerns a laboratory assay of the response of production strains of brewer´s yeast to high osmotic pressure common for the HGB (high gravity brewing) process. It is intended for brewery laboratories with good instrumental background, which are engaged in characterizing producrion strains and evaluating their suitability for use in new technologies. Application of the methodology extends the spectrum of methods used for the description of production yeast strains

Injuries of cyclists from the perspective of prehospital emergency care
KRBOVÁ, Petra
The popularity of everyday, both leisure and racing cycling, increases. The spectrum of accidents and injuries related to cycling extends with the increasing choice of bicycles for different types of cycling. Especially in summer months paramedics repeatedly provide prehospital emergency care to cyclists. A wide range of injuries require different intensity of treatment and care. The theoretical part is focused on a brief characteristics and descriptions of selected injuries, which are part of the research. The research was carried out by the quantitative form, by means of a questionnaire. It was distributed to paramedics in the South-Bohemian Region and in the Vysočina Region. The objective of the thesis was to assess and map the approach of paramedics to an injured cyclist, the correctness of provided care for selected injuries that are mentioned in the theoretical part from the perspective of prehospital emergency care and the evaluation of the need to pay more attention to this issue or to retain the current provided care and update only the new information and findings. The result of the research is the confirmation of all the research hypotheses. The questions testing knowledge of definitions of polytrauma and injuries were mostly answered correctly. The research questions focused on treatment and subsequent transport were also answered mostly correctly. Even though the research results were good and hypotheses were proved, it is necessary to bear in mind that cycling injuries are part of prehospital emergency care. Paramedics should be aware of current practices and continue with self-education.

The influence of water areas on proposal of new land layout within comprehensive land arrangement
KAMENICKÁ, Šárka
In my work study I was evaluating na influence of water areas on proposal of new land layout within comprehensive land arrangement of Branná district. Analyzing current hydrology situation I found that in this location there are 17 ponds of measurement between 1 hectare and 43,5 hectares. To improve hydrology conditions I have suggested some appropriate actions. I was observing 8 ponds which were included in the program of Complex land adaptation running between 2006 and 2011. On the basis of maps of the ex-land registry, the estate cadastre and new digital maps of this area I was comparing measurement, differences in proportions and changes of property. Some amendments has been described in more detail.

Influence of environment on the beginnings of smoking among children
JAROŠOVÁ, Karolína
This bachelor thesis examines the currect situation concerning the beginnings of smoking among second grade pupils, the social trends and influence of social environment. This thesis also focuses on smoking education and its knowledge among these pupils and it tries to discover whether they know about health risks of smoking. In the theoretical part, I described history of smoking, general information about smoking, and health risks of smoking. In the practical part of this thesis, I chose two hypothesis to be confirmed or disproved. I used questionnaires as a research instrument at selected primary schools in České Budějovice. The first hypothesis says that children whose parents smoke are more likely to start smoking themselves than children from non-smoking families. This hypothesis was confirmed. The second hypothesis says that more than a half of respondents are not fully informed about possible health risks of smoking. This hypothesis was also confirmed. I was surprised by the results of my research. It is alarming how many children have smoking experience or how many of them are even regular smokers these days. In my opinion, lack of education and not enough attention focused on anti-smoking prevention programs only contribute to this trend. Our society should think a lot more about this phenomenon, and we should try harder for our new generations not to take smoking as a part of their daily life.

Healthy nutrition for patients in early stage of diabetes type 2 - educational material.
ŠVENDOVÁ, Marcela
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of a suitable diet for patients suffering from type 2 diabetes in the early stage. The objective of the bachelor thesis was to create educational material for these patients. To obtain data for creating this educational material I had to determine the requirements of the target group. We used a questionnaire to conduct this. The questionnaire was compiled with the aim of determining comprehensibility, clearness and applicability of the educational material, required by a group of patients in whom type 2 diabetes mellitus was newly diagnosed. This educational unit was provided with a selection of foodstuffs that may decrease the risk of the development of diabetes and, at the same time, have preventive effects on reducing blood sugar level. I obtained information about suitable foodstuffs by studying expert literature. The questionnaire and my self-study prepared a basis for creating the educational material for these patients. The research part was conducted by handing out a questionnaire to physicians, both general practitioners and specialists, who participated in the research part. I have chosen the topic of education of patients suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus, because it has become a worldwide problem and the number of new patients is growing. One of the causes of this disease is the metabolic syndrome, which can be influenced by a healthy diet.
