Gender differences according to demographic indicators in the Czech Republic

Gender statistics constitute the main tool, which enables the exploration of differences between males and females in different areas, not only demographic, economic and social. On a daily basis, we encounter statistical indicators which show different results for males and females. In the introduction of this bachelor thesis, basic terms relating to gender are defined. It focuses mainly on the most used terminology in the field of gender issues, which has been substantially influenced by the modern society. After collecting necessary data from the Czech Statistical Office and other sources open to public, the second part of the thesis describes selected demographic indicators by gender. This is done firstly for the Czech Republic as a whole and then at the level of NUTS 3 regions. In the third part, gender differences and relations between studied indicators are expressed with the aid of various graphs and several analyses of selected demographic indicators. It captures especially the diverse age and education structure, employment rate etc. The fourth, final, part focuses on organizations within the Czech Republic, which actively pursue gender issues.

Populační vývoj obcí v obvodu ORP Rosice

The main goal of this thesis is to analyse the population growth in administrative district Rosice between 1991 and 2011. Basic studied characteristics are crude rate of natural increase, crude rate of net migration and crude rate of total increase. It is also focused on analysis of demographic structure, specifically by sex, age and level of education. The results were put into relation with historical development of studied area, which is closely connected with the mining of coal. There is also close relation with specific geographic location because the studied area is hinterland of Brno.

The main goal of this thesis is to analyze the population growth in administrative district Bučovice in period 2001--2012. The first section of this thesis discusses bacis demographic theories and indicators. Next follow the description of the adminstratives charakteristics of the region, including historical context. The main part of the thesis analyze demographic development, structure and movement of the population. The results were compared with superior administrative entities and republic becouse of its trending in the target area.

The demographic development of the European Union

The aim of this Master's thesis is to describe the past and future demographic development of selected EU countries. The second aim is to utilize methods for multicriteria evaluation of alternatives in the demography. The last aim is to describe methods used to extrapolate mortality curves. The theoretical part describes demographic indicators, methods used to extrapolate mortality curves and computational processes for methods for multicriteria evaluation of alternatives. The practical part includes the computation of demographic indicators and describes the progress of the indicators in the future. The methods for multicriteria evaluation of alternatives are used for ranking selected EU countries according to the demographic indicators. The last part of the thesis includes the application of methods used for extrapolating mortality curves and compares the achieved results with the actual progress.
