Does the quality of relationships within the primary family cause the preference of unmarried cohabitation between young people?
VOSTOUPALOVÁ, Jana
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find an answer to the question: Is experience with relations in a primary family where a person grew up a reason for current preferences of unmarried cohabitation between young people? Various forms of family, a brief summary of changes of the forms and the functionality of family from a historical perspective, a functional description of primary family (i.e. ?nuclear? or fundamental family) and a description of its influence on children are presented in the theoretical part of the thesis. Furthermore, a component analysis of the institution of marriage as a legitimate foundation of family is described, as well as an explanation of a reason for contemporary preferences of unmarried cohabitation. The theoretical part is followed by an empirical part, in which qualitative research is shown. The survey was conducted among young people living in unwed relations. The aim of the research was not only to map the level of relations in primary families of the respondents and a possible reflexion of their domestic experience on their consequent choice of the specific type of living, but also to map the respondents´ personal experience with their own relational level and consequently to map their attitudes towards the institution of marriage itself.

The Family in the Czech Republic and its Regions
Rousová, Ilona ; Kouřilová, Jana (advisor) ; Kadeřábková, Jaroslava (referee)
This master thesis is focused on the present state of the family issues in the Czech Republic. Except the explanation of the basic terminology, it also indicates some of the areas with the family in the first place and its legal regulations and sociology investigation. It observes the actual trends in the behaviour of couples in the connection with the common life and starting family. The acquired demographic and sociological findings, valid generally for the Czech Republic, are analysed and compared with the statistical dates of the lower territory self-governing units. It also checks the rate of the regional differences above these regions (mainly at the level of districts), especially in the area of the marriage behaviour, parenthood and amount of the separating marriages. It confronts these data with the age structure of the founding family members. At the end of the graduation thesis is established whether the results of the sociological investigation and studies are consistent with the realized conclusions from the statistic data and if there exist the significant regional dissimilarities in the Czech Republic in statistic indicators which characterize the "family" behaviour of population.
