Havlová, Zdenka ; Horká, Bohumila (advisor) ; Savková, Pavlína (referee)
Author: Zdenka Havlová Institution: Department of Rehabilitation Medicine The Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové Title: Kinesiotherapy in idiopathic scoliosis focusing on the reflexlocomotion Supervisor: Mgr. Bohumila Horká Pages: 89 Inserts: 5 The year of presentation: 2013 Keywords: idiopathic scoliosis, ontogenesis, axial systém, reflexlocomotion The thesis deals with the kinesiotherapy in idiopathic scoliosis taking into account the possibilities of Vojta method. It deals also with the history of this disease, incidence in the population, relation between ontogenetic development and development of the axial system. The thesis also describes the treatment options and introduces the most used method of kineziotherapy. It contains two case studies of the patients with the idiopathic scoliosis where the Vojta method was used as the main method of kinesiotherapy.
Examination of cerebeller function in patients with scoliosis
Drdáková, Lenka ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Slováčková, Lenka (referee)
Purpose: The aim of this research was to determine whether there is a difference in the presence of minimal cerebellar signs, hypermobility and dyspraxia in the group of patients with idiopathic scoliosis (IS) and a control group of individuals without IS. Methods: 11 patients have been selected for this research with IS and 11 individuals without IS as a control group. The International Cooperative Ataxia Rating Scale (ICARS) was used for examination of cerebellar signs. Hypermobility was evaluated with ten tests according to Janda. The presence of pendulum reflexes was determined by examination of patellar and triceps reflex, while dyspraxia was analyzed by means of the Czechoslovak test. Results: Patients with IS scored significantly worse in ICARS than the control group (p < 0,05). IS patients presented with significantly more pronounced hypermobility in head rotation (p = 0,0384) and forward bending (p = 0,0409) tests comparing to the control group. No significant difference between the two groups was identified in pendulum reflexes and the Czechoslovak dyspraxia test. Conclusion: The study confirms significantly more positive signs of ataxia and asynergy in a group of patients with IS comparing to control group. Hypermobility was significantly more pronounced in head rotation and forward...
Clinical examination in idiopathic scoliosis
Fišerová, Eva ; Šafářová, Marcela (advisor) ; Ježková, Martina (referee)
The bachelor thesis "Clinical investigation of idiopathic scoliosis" informs about anatomy, kinesielogy and development of curvatures of the spine. Scoliosis is characterized as a three - dimensional deformity. The cause of idiopathic scoliosis is unknown. The thesis deals with two theories: the origin of scoliosis in a motor ontogenesis and biomechanical theory according to Karski. The main part treats of early signs of scoliosis, the benchmark examination, which can detect a deformity and clinical investigation of patients with diagnosis idiopathic scoliosis. The thesis informs in brief about prognosis and therapy. The thesis contain confrontation of clinical investigation of seven patients with idiopathic scoliosis and one case report. Non-ideal development of the hip joint as a forming factor of idiopathic scoliosis
Fišerová, Eva ; Ujcová, Lucie (referee) ; Šafářová, Marcela (advisor)
The thesis deals with connections between non-ideal development of the hip joint and origin of idiopathic scoliosis. The thesis warn that asymmetry in neuromotor ontogenesis is a risk factor for development of scoliosis. There is also summary of abnormalities in hip joints which are connected with idiopatic scoliosis. In experimental part of the work it has been confirmed that patient with idiopathic scoliosis have leftright asymmetry of the range of movement in hip joints. This asymmetries are discussed in the context of both the etiopathogenezis and the effect of spinal deformity. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
The physiotherapy posibilities in the Ib degree scoliosis of primary school age children
ČERMÁKOVÁ, Martina
Bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of physiotherapy school age children who have been diagnosed with scoliosis Ib grade. Scoliosis is considered a deformity of the spine in the frontal, sagittal and transverse. It leads to the shape deformation of the vertebral due to pressure changes. The theoretical part is processed axial system from the perspective of kinesiology, deep stabilizing system of the spine and postural stability, definitions and classifications of scoliosis and surgical options and conservative treatment. In physiotherapy practice can be used several approaches that are primarily engaged in the treatment of scoliosis. In this work there are written methods that deal with the treatment of scoliosis, although not their main focus. One of these methods is, for example, sensorimotor stimulation from Janda and Vávrová (Janda, Vávrová, 1992), whose objective is to activate subcortical mechanisms that participate on motoric control and to reach automated activity of muscles that are needed for removing muscle dysbalance. The theoretical part of the study was to define scoliosis, write its problems and treatment options for scoliosis focus on conservative therapy with the classification of sensorimotor stimulation method. The second objective of this work was to suggest and then implement specific physiotherapy for school age children diagnosed with scoliosis Ib grade to which elements of sensorimotor stimulation were included. For the practical part of the thesis I used qualitative research methods. The research was conducted using three patients younger school age being in the care of the Rehabilitation Department of the Hospital České Budějovice, a. s. The results were presented in the form of case studies. The research was conducted for three months. In all patients, with whom I conducted therapy, were also included elements of sensorimotor stimulation. Then I recognized in the kinesiologic analyse that the spinal dynamic tests improved, some of the shortened muscles relaxed and patients learned how to breathe properly. They also mentioned better body posture perception and possibilities of its correction. Use of physiotherapy procedures designed to influence scoliosis curve using sensorimotor exercise can be an inspiration for physiotherapists, other practitioners or students.
Physiotherapy application on scoliosis with emphasis on idiopathic scoliosis
TRAPLOVÁ, Kristýna
Scoliosis is defined as three-dimensional spinal deformity with vertebra deformation in the frontal, sagittal and transversal planes. The aetiology of this disease is unknown, uncertainty occurs in its diagnostics, prognosis as well as in treatment. The first, theoretical part is aimed at processing theoretical materials and their transparency. The practical part is aimed at evaluation of effectiveness of various physiotherapeutic procedures in scoliosis. In the theoretical part of this thesis I present information on anatomical structures affected by scoliosis. The work informs on various classification of scoliosis, it deals with diagnostics, examination and therapy. There are a number of procedures used for scoliosis diagnosis. Only those applied at the workplace where the research was performed are dealt with in detail. The qualitative research method was chosen for the practical part hereof. Two patients with idiopathic scoliosis regularly visiting the outpatient clinic of the Hospital České Budějovice Physiotherapeutic Department were chosen for the research. Both the patients were similar age and their therapy took a similar period. The research is aimed at idiopathic scoliosis examination and therapy monitoring. The results were processed in case-based form. The work evaluates effectiveness of various individual physiotherapeutic procedures and the research shows that application of multiple methods on one patient brings the best result. The results of the work may be used by physiotherapists or other medical staff in their practice, but may also serve as a source of information for patients and their parents.
