Influence of conductive ceramics on the life of lead acid batteries
Tobolák, Jakub ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on lead-acid batteries used in hybrid electric vehicles. These cells work in specific conditions, particularly under partial charge referred to as PSOC. This fact is responsible for the premature loss of capacity cell lead-acid batteries and their short lifetime. The task of this thesis is to examine the effect of conductive ceramics as possible additives to the negative electrode active materials of lead-acid battery cells operating in a PSOC, in order to prolong their life.
The effect of pressure on the electrode system in lead acid batteries with experimental electrodes
Zabloudil, Ondřej ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with the issue of lead-acid batteries, which are used in hybrid electric vehicles. The lead-acid batteries works in mode PSoC. In this mode occurs to degradation mechanisms at negative electrodes. These degradation mechanisms reduce the battery life. The practical part of Master’s thesis describes the production and a compilation of experimental cells and experimental part examines the characteristics of lead-acid batteries with the pressure to the electrode system.
Design of Generalized Powertrain Model
Borkovec, Tomáš ; Kenyeres, Martin (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
In this work is proposed the generalized powertrain of the parallel hybrid car. The powertrain is composed from the sub-models of the power sources. Each sub-model is described by the quasi-static modeling. For given routes is computed the power demand. Based on the derived power demand, three energy management systems are tested. First system is based on heuristic rules. The second one use more sophisticated control algorithms - the optimization method. Main idea is based on minimum principle, when the control algorithm tries to minimize the cost function (fuel use, emission). The last one is based on the equivalent consumption minimization strategy.
Conductive ceramic as additive in the lead-acid accumulators
Šrut, Martin ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Lead-acid batteries are most used secondary electrochemical power sources. Their basic principle has remained the same for several years; only the operating parameters are in development. Lead-acid batteries are used in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), which operates in the partial charge PSoC. Sulphation is one of the possible failures lead-acid batteries in the HEV, especially the negative electrode. By adding additives to the negative active mass can reduce the rate of sulphation and increase ability to accept an electrical charge by negative electrode.
The effect of pressure on the electrode system in lead acid batteries with experimental glass fibers aditives electrodes
Fryda, Daniel ; Vaculík, Sebastian (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with the lead-acid batteries, which are alternativ power supply. The lead-acid batteries are the oldest type of battery cells. This lead-acid batteries have a great use in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), which operate in different modes of vehicle operation. These modes correspond to the reactions taking place during discharging and charging the battery. The lead-acid batteries in hybrid electric vehicles work in mode PSoC. The practical part of the Master`s thesis examines how the characteristics of lead-acid batteries are modified due to admixture of glass fibers into negative active material and application of pressure to the electrode system.
Influence of titanium dioxide on the life of lead acid batteries with applied pressure
Řihák, Pavel ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Hybrid electric vehicles use lead acid batteries operating under partial charge. Battery life of these batteries is dependent on the speed of development of lead sulphate (PbSO4) to the negative electrodes. Different admixtures are affected battery life. This work deals with the influence of titanium dioxide on the negative active material in lead battery. Mainly devoted to the influence of the applied pressure.
Influence of different types of AGM separators on parameters of lead-acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Čada, Miroslav ; Vaculík, Sebastian (referee) ; Tošer, Pavel (advisor)
The most used type of the secondary energy sources is the lead-acid accumulator today. It is also used as a propulsion in hybrid electric vehicles. Functional principle stayed same as in foundation time, only parameters are still improving. Lifetime of lead-acid accumulator is influenced by used separator. The work deals with the description of properties of lead acid separators, methods of testing and evaluation of the suitability for use.
Effect of additives in lead-acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles.
Klaner, Pavel ; Vaněk, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with issues of the issue lead-acid batteries and their application in mode of hybrid electric vehicle. The experiment is focused on the production of electrodes to determine the effect five types of additives in negative active mass in PsoC(Partial State of Charge) mode. This simulates conditions occurring in the mode of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).
Exploring the influence of pressure on the life of lead acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Čech, Tomáš ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The goal of the thesis is to study literature and to become familiar with problems of accumulators operating in the mode of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). To work up problems of a potential impact of the influence on the system of the lead accumulator. Assemble the experimental cells with discontinuous system of parallel fins and to treat them with different operating modes. Then to evaluate the results.
Effect of glass fibers in the lead-acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Klojda, Viktor ; Tošer, Pavel (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
Master´s thesis deals with the utilization of lead-acid accumulators in hybrid electric vehicle regime. It describes the side effects known as PCL, generated during PSOC regime and connected with the length of the battery lifespan. One possibility how to eliminate these effects, is the use of additives in active mass of the negative electrode, in the form of glass fibres. The project provides the parametres and reactions of additive, that have lead to the improvement of battery properties. The purpose of this thesis is to verify the positive effect of the aditive on the lifespan of the lead-acid accumulator.
