Firmware for power line communicaiton system
Majer, Dominik ; Sysel, Petr (referee) ; Sláčik, Ján (advisor)
In this diploma thesis it was introduced the issue of power line communication and network architecture design with goal to create own concept of smart house system. Consequently, the necessary communication protocols are designed and described based on the concept. Further is described the implementation of the designs and testing of the realized system under laboratory conditions using the real communication devices. Summary of the achieved results is supported by demonstration of real functionality.
Visualization of communication routes in the energetics
Pečeňa, Vít ; Šťastný, Ladislav (referee) ; Franek, Lešek (advisor)
This thesis describes the design of an application to view the positions electrometers communicating over Power Line (PLC). Applications should find the main use in the field of project Smart Grids. Furthermore, the work resolves selection of libraries required for creation of applications and the proposal itself.
Power line grid model
Csiba, Patrik ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis analyzes the PLC communications in various scenarios. The first part of the thesis describes the principle of narrowband and broadband communication and the analysis of electrical lines. The next part describes the NS-3 framework, simulation scenarios for establishment the effect of branches and other parameters on the baud rate. The last part determines the minimum number of repeaters and their location on the extended topology.
Multi-Conductor Model of Communication over Outdoor Power Lines
Franek, Lešek ; Steinbauer, Miloslav (referee) ; Vozňák, Miroslav (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
PLC - power line communication is not new. It has been known for many years. But It never be used in massive scale. There were only sporadic applications, for example ripple control system HDO used in the Czechoslovakia. PLC currently experiencing a renaissance thanks to the advent of Smart Grid. PLC offering relatively low bit rates and relatively unreliable transmission, but these disadvantages compensates very low costs to build a communication infrastructure and it offers specific functionalities for Smart Grid. The question is whether the declared parameters will be met in the real world. This thesis tries to find an answer.

Model for power line communication
Baluch, Viliam ; Fujdiak, Radek (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is dealing with matters of data communication after power line. The thesis is including the PLC systems history, current possibilities of utilization and different types of modulations being used, interference sources and parameters of a transmission line. We will elaborate on methods of transmission line modeling and one of them will be used in the practical part of the thesis. The practical part consists of modeling of different types of topology and impedance endings applying generation of random transmission parameters and sizes of typology. We analyze results from practical measurement which are incorporated in a model. The model is then being compared with another one in terms of fixed parameters.
High Data Rate Narrowband PLC Communication based on OFDM
Csiba, Patrik ; Herencsár, Norbert (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor project is about narrowband PLC communication. In this project is described history, principle of narrowband communication and description of four available narrowband standards (PRIME, G3-PLC, G.hnem, IEEE P1901.2) with their comparisons. In the next part are described the experimental measurements, that are performed in home environment with use of the TMDSPLCKIT modems from the Texas Instruments company, MT39-L1-ver.R modems from the ModemTec company and EVALKITST7580-1 modems from the STMicroelectronics company.
Smart Grid network with PLC for data acquisition
Skrášek, Tomáš ; Mišurec, Jiří (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of Smart Grid and selection of communication media. It also describes the characteristics of PLC modems and radio modems. Practical part shows the use of narrowband modems in an environment with real interference and also communication with radio modems.
Narrow-band PLC modem
Skala, Milan ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Mišurec, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with narrow band PLC modem for 230/400 V power line. In the first chapter we can find basic theory about using modulation, interference, impedance of line, communication, capacitive and inductive coupler. Next chapter deals with design and simulation of capacitive coupler, transceiver circuit, receiver circuit, power supply and circuit for modem synchronization with power line frequency. In this chapter we can find information about building a converter from UART to USB. Third chapter of this thesis is dedicated to designing the printed circuit board and building the modem. Last chapter deals with setting the modem switches, description of its inputs and outputs and basic manual for the modem's software.
Analysis and modeling of Power Line Communication
Mlýnek, Petr ; Orgoň, Miloš (referee) ; Pospíchal, Ladislav (referee) ; Mišurec, Jiří (advisor)
The dissertation thesis focuses on the analysis and modelling of power line communication. In first part of the thesis, a basic information of power line communication are described, primarily principle, advantage and disadvantage. The physical layer of the transmission and the fundament of modelling are described later. In the following section the objectives of the dissertation thesis are specified. Experimental verification of the created models and creating of indoor and outdoor models are one of the major goals of this work. These models approximate the real parameters of the power lines communication with sufficient precision. A detailed analysis of existing and current research in power line communication modeling, especially for the power line models, then follows. Based on this analysis a mathematical description of the models is specified and reference model for different scenarios is designed. The communication channel model, power line model and noise model are designed in own solution part. In this part the main goals, experimental verification of created models and designed of models for indoor and outdoor line were also realized. By merging of individual models, PLC communication system model with all parameters analyzed in detail arise. The analyzed parameters which were previously published, do not contain these parameters coherently. The last part of the thesis gives a summary of the results of these analyzes and discussion of simulation results.
