Trends of initial reading development and their practical application in Czech schools

The thesis deals with initial reading literacy in the first and second grade of elementary schools. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to the reading literacy. Some major studies, published from 1996 till 2015 and dealing with the reading literacy development are introduced further. The research chapter describes the qualitative research metodology identifies research goals and hypotheses, presents the timing of the research and the research sample. The methodological recommendations based on the data analysis obtained from the survey were organized into a handbook usable for all teachers. The whole research is summarized in the final chapter, the hypothesis have been confirmed . The answer to the key question, "How is the initial reading literacy developed by the teachers in the reading instruction?" revealed that the trend in the initial reading literacy development is the gradual comprehensive development of all the reading competences levels with the emphasis on the communication skills from the first school day. Museum educational programmes for National Pedagogical Museum of J. A. Comenius in Prague

The main aim of the Diploma Theses is to prepare, verify in practice and evaluate museum educational programme for pupils from 12 to 18 (junior schools and secondary schools) which is devoted to the changes in schooling in 20th century. The aim is to introduce to pupils historical facts by the means of three educational programmes and interactive elements in the exhibition. Pupils work with topics covering World War II, 50s and so called normalization period. Throughout the educational process they will use period realia from the above mentioned periods, such as schoolbooks, educational boards and educational aids from the collection of Comenius National Pedagogical Museum and Library in Prague. Horse breeding and practical lessons at elementary school

The main goal of this bachelor thesis in its theoretical part was to elaborate on the topic of horse breeding, regarding the basic knowledge of horse care, tools for the horse care, rider's equipment, stabling, feeding, types of equestrian sports and contact of children and horses. In the practical part, an educational programme was created, designed for the pupils of the 9th class of elementary school, which are in the process of making the decision about their future secondary school. The pupils try during the programme how to do the basic horse care, how to saddle and put on headgear, such as a bridle or a halter. The educational programme was tested on a group of 15 pupils and is ready to be used on other groups.
Knowledge of primary pupils about ecology of freshwater

This master thesis deals with conceptual knowledge of pupils of the primary school about the ecology of the freshwater ecosystem. Pupils get familiar mainly with typical representatives of organisms which are representing the ecosystem, however, understanding the ecology of the ecosystem demands having a deeper insight into many functions and relations characteristic for the specific ecosystem. The author emphasises the importance of the lessons being carried out through educational programmes in nature. A specific educational programme was designed and realised. Then, the knowledge of pupils of the 1st and 2nd grade was tested and compared on the basis who took part in the programme and who did not. In some tasks, a positive impact of the educational programme was achieved. In other tasks, the same or slightly better results were shown by pupils, who did not participate in this specific programme. In the thesis there are discussed factors, which influence the success rate of the educational programme and pupils' understanding of ecologic relations.
Supporting healthy leg development in preschool children

This bachelor thesis deals with healthy feet development in pre-school children and the possibilities to support it. The theoretical part of this thesis consists of a literature survey and deals with anatomy of the feet, deviations from healthy development, prevention possibilities and inappropriate condition correction possibilities. The practical part includes a proposal of an education program based on the framework educational program for pre-school education. It includes preventive exercises for legs, creative activities, games, and education of the content to the children in a meaningful way. The program was attended by 37 children (22 boys, 15 girls) of pre-school age (5-7 years old) of two classes of different pre-school facilities. The evaluation of the program was carried out through individual interviews with the children, our own observation, oral communication of supervising teachrs and self-reflection. The program created with the support of commonly available aids was evaluated positively by children and the educators and can be included as a whole or in the part in a standard pre-school education.

Introducion the musical instuments in kindergarten

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create an educational programme, which is focused on familiarizing with musical instruments in nursery schools. The program should in a fun form, through various games and attractive activities, introduce to preschool children not only individual instruments but also their division into three basic groups. In the theoretical part, I deal with musical instruments in the context of the Framework Education Programme for Preschool Education, as well as with the specifics of music perception, musical ideas and memory of a preschool child and with characteristics of individual musical instruments. The content of the practical part is creation of a programme Musical Instruments Introduction, which corresponds to the specifics of preschool children education, verification of its use in nursery schools, subsequent evaluation according to a predetermined evaluation plan and pedagogical measures contributing to the optimization of the programme.
The use of gallery and museum education in leisure activities

The essay explains the methods of education in leisure activities in terms of educational objectives. In practical part of the essay the author uses his own experience in organizing the gallery education in leisure activities. He describes his project, realization and evaluation of the educational programme.
