Analýza faktorů ovlivňující strategie a očekávání českých začínajících firem
Šála, Miroslav ; Lukeš, Martin (advisor) ; Jaklová, Martina L. (referee)
This thesis goal is to analyze the factors that are influencing the strategies and growth expectations of the Czech start-ups. The analysis is based on the data sample from the Czech GEM 2011 and unique study of the Czech start-ups performed in 2011 as well. Various statistical methods are used to determine which microeconomic factors affect (1) the strategy choice and (2) growth expectations. As for the factors influencing expected growth, the research is concluded by the creation of the regression equations explaining the expected growth in the revenues as well as expected growth in employees. The factors influencing strategy choice are: managers-owners experience, the environment, self-efficacy, gender, and innovativeness. The factors influencing expected growth in revenues are: innovativeness, self-efficacy, competitive strategy, managers-owners experience, social capital, export intention, and business planning. The factors influencing the expected growth in employment are: legal structure of company, export intention, self-efficacy, innovativeness, competitive strategy, business planning. Following variables create the regression equation explaining expected growth in revenues: financial planning, export intention, education, IPR use, and age of entrepreneur. The variables explaining expected growth in employees are: (1) export intention, product newness, and legal structure of the company, (2) product newness, differentiation inclination, and financial projections. Alongside, the Porter's generic strategies framework was proved to fit the data sample while it was showed that a portion of Czech entrepreneurs are "stuck in the middle". By these findings, this thesis provides unique empirical verification of the growth and strategy theory on the sample of the Czech entrepreneurs.
The level of utility qualities of Chinchilla chinchilla in the chosen breeding
TUROŇOVÁ, Kamila
The main aim of this bachelor work was the analyzing of reproduction of indicators in private breedings. Furthermore, the growth abilities of chinchillas with colour mutations standard, black velvet and milkiness were appraised too. Altogether data were got from 1292 litters of chinchillas wavy color standard mutation from the period 1999 to 2008. Reproduction charakteristics were evaluated in number of born and weaning the youngs, the length of the interim and the size, weaning index of the litter depending on the order of the litter, the year of the monitoring and the membership of the family. The growth abilities of chinchillas colour mutations standard and black velvet were evaluated according to the order of the litters. Data about development of the live weight were made from data of 25 the youngs - standard colour mutation and 23 the youngs - black velvet mutation. Records of weights were taken place in 2009, on the day of the birth of the young and after every week until the young is 49 days. Data were summarized and statistically processed in MS Excel and Statistica Statsoft version 10. The analysis of reproduction characteristics found out on the average 1.82 the youngs born and 1.52 the youngs weaned with the average length of the interim 202.34 days. There were most often two youngs in the litter. The youngs of standard colour mutation evinced bigger average weight than the youngs of colour mutation black velvet.
Growth and individual variability of the water scorpion Nepa cinerea (Heteroptera: Nepomorpha: Nepidae)
VILIMOVSKÁ, Lenka
It this study morphometric characteristics and the growth of univoltine predatory water scorpion - Nepa cinerea were studied on the basis of data measured on freshly killed individuals, the same ethanol - fixed individuals and dried individuals. The growth of this species has an exponential character. By comparing the morphometric characteristics of freshly killed and fixed individuals was found that the ethanol fixation influenced mainly weight of all developmental stages and total abdominal ventral length of adults. The same was found for the comparison of morphometric characteristics of freshly killed individuals and dried individuals. Other studied dimensions were not significantly deformed even by fixation or drying. Reducing of individula demensions by the influence of fixation and drying was uneven at different developmental stages. Reliable dimension for differentiating of individual developmental stages fixed material and the collected dried material is especially the media length of the body. Dimensions of fixed individuals and dried individuals is not significantly different from dimensions of freshly killed individuals. This project was supported by grant GA CR P505/10/0096.
The influence of the fixation of water bugs (Heteroptera: Nepomorpha) on the results of their growth and variability
SVOBODOVÁ, Kristýna
The main task of this thesis was to investigate the influence of the preservation by ethyl alcohol and dry mounting on the morphometric characteristics of water bugs´ and to test the hypothesis that live individuals and individuals preserved by ethyl alcohol and dry mounted (both groups deal with individuals of the same species, sex and developmental stage) have the same morphometric parameters. The next task was to determine the effect of preparation by ethyl alcohol and dry mounting on the change of weight caused by different way of individuals´ preparation. Two model species of water bugs were chosen for this study: creeping water bug Ilyocoris cimicoides (Naucoridae) and backswimmer Notonecta glauca (Notonectidae). Weight and twelve other morphometric body characters were measured in adults of both sexes of both species. All data and their differences were tested by Student's paired t-test or nonparametric Wilcoxon test. The level of significance p = 0,05 was used for the decision whether the difference before and after preservation by ethyl alcohol and dry mounting is or is not statistically significant. Both preservation by ethyl alcohol and dry mounting influence only the body weight of treated individuals. Other morphometric characters are more or less independent on the way of preservation of water bugs´ individuals in collections. In this work, we also tested the effect of the Dyar rule for the increase in weight and size between different developmental stages of both species studied. Dyar rule for the evolution of both species was not verified. This project was supported by the grant of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic No. P505/10/0096.
