BENDOVÁ, Kateřina
The topic of this diploma thesis is Alternative lifestyle as a form of content human existence. This thesis is focused on specification of subculture and I defined the subculture of homeless people, which as I assumed and also as my own research data showed, can demonstrate the content form of human existence. The theoretical part of this thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter constitutes a theoretical scope of this thesis where I put emphasis on social norms and theory of social deviation, which are crucial for homeless people who are demonstrating alternative lifestyle which is significantly different from the lifestyle of mainstream conformist society. Second chapter describes characteristics of homelessness. The third chapter includes procedure of help to homeless people in their life situation. There are also stated social services for homeless people. The last chapter is focused on the alternative lifestyle. I also deal with the topic of voluntary homelessness. The aim of this diploma thesis is description of aspects of lifestyle of the observed subculture of homeless people. The target group consists of 20 homeless people in age from 18 to 70 years. A method of qualitative approach was applied and a method of analysis of case studies was used for data collection. The main technique of data collection was an interview with directions which I used with 10 homeless people who were in asylum house and with 10 homeless people who were present directly at the public areas. In the context of this thesis five research questions were determined. The primary data was coded/indexed and then processed with the framework analysis according to Ritchie and Spencer. The outcomes of the research showed that the most frequent reason for the origin of homelessness is alcohol addiction. Most frequently it is related to single or divorced man and women. The daily regime of homeless people is from a greater half regular. Among the most frequent daily activities in the asylum house can be mentioned watching television, cleaning common areas of the asylum house, fixed activities and drinking coffee. The outdoor activities mostly constitute of collection of metal, cooking, shopping for food and searching the garbage bins. They usually spend winter nights in facilities of social services (doss house, asylum house), in a tent, in makeshift shanties, or in a squat. Most people spend their days with their friends or partners. People who live in public areas are more willing to make some extra money. There was three times higher experience with begging of the people who live in public areas than people who live in asylum houses. People in asylum houses usually pay for day board meals. People who live outside in public areas procure their food in supermarkets, day centres and doss houses and in garbage bins. For homeless people nicotine addiction is more frequent than alcohol addiction. They perform their personal hygiene in the facilities of social services (day centre, doss house, asylum house). They usually get their clothes from social or asylum clothes supplies. They do not live in relationships with partners however people who live in the public areas have more sexual contacts. More than half of respondents do not think about their future. People who live in asylum houses are more satisfied with their life situation, nevertheless more than half of respondents would like to change their life situation. On basis of the results of this research theoretical concepts were induced.

The goal was to describe the socio-pathological phenomena occurring in the locality and analysis of prevention of these phenomena (creation of preventive measures, their implementation, availability, cooperation of the institutions involved in preventive measures, etc). In case of any shortcomings in the system prevention suggest possible measures to improve cooperation between various departments involved in this issue. Theoretical part defines the basic notions - social norms, social deviance, social sanctions, social control, social pathology, and prevention of these phenomena. It describes in detail the incidence of social pathology, causes and possibilities of prevention of the problem. The research was conducted after obtaining information on the issue, based on a qualitative approach, using half-controlled interview. It was headed to press-spokespeople Police of Czech Republic, the curator for children and youth and social workers to the site. The survey results suggest that primary prevention is the cooperation components involved in the prevention of socially pathological phenomena in a very good level. Are there problems in the secondary and tertiary prevention (lack of funds, incomplete facilities, communication problems between the different components involved in the prevention, etc.) The results of this work presents the current situation in the field of pathology and may be the basis for further studies and researches in this field.
Perception of social standards and social pathology by Romani children of lower school age
ČECHOVÁ, Veronika
This bachelor thesis points out selected social pathological phenomena and their perception by Romani and non-Romani children of lower school age. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical parts. In the theoretical part I first focused on definition of the standard and the value system of the Romani. Then I concentrated on the term social pathology and I specify selected social pathologies, namely the terms aggressiveness, alcoholism, smoking, pathological gambling, theft and drugs, and relation of the Romani minority to these social pathological phenomena. In the last part I deal with a lower school age child, his/her physical, mental and social development. A characteristic of a Romani child is also a part of this chapter. The aim of the research performed was to find whether perception of selected social pathologies by Romani children differs from perception of these social pathologies by non-Romani children of younger school age. I used the methods and techniques of qualitative research in the practical part, namely the method of questioning and technique of semi-structured interview. The research sample consisted of ten Romani children of younger school age, a complementary sample consisted of ten non-Romani children of younger school age. The research was performed at two primary schools in Jindřichův Hradec. The research led to a finding what relation Romani children of younger school age have to selected social pathologies compared to non-Romani children of younger school age, what their approach to addiction is and whether the selected social pathological phenomena occur in the respondents? families. The results of the research confirm that permanent cooperation on preventive programmes for young people at primary schools and youth centres is necessary, particularly focusing on Romani pupils and their families, where social pathological phenomena occur. Introduction of preventive programmes into practice not only with the assistance of teachers, but also of the wide public, would make the beginning of puberty easier for children of younger school age, without threatening external influences.
