Experimental verification of photocatalytic activity of TiO2 in concrete
Steinbergerová, Ivana ; Přikryl, Jan (referee) ; Hela, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis is focused on gathering all available information on the application forms of photocatalytic TiO2 in concretes, especially in the surface layers of precast and monolithic structures. The paper describes in detail the properties of titanium dioxide alone, his special abilities, leading to a substantial improvement of the environment, through photocatalysis. Further verification methods are described photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide and titanium dioxide application in real projects. The practical part is tested recipes of secondary coatings from the production of company Precheza a.s. Přerov.
Fluorescence probes for immobilized photocatalyst activity monitoring
Blašková, Martina ; Dvoranová, Dana (referee) ; Dzik, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the use of fluorescent probes for evaluation of photocatalytic activity of immobilized photocatalyst. To the evaluation of photocatalytic activity of TiO2 were used three different fluorescent probes – terephthalic acid, coumarin and benzoic acid, wherein was monitored the increasing intensity of fluorescence of their oxidation products – hydroxyterephthalic acid, 7-hydroxycoumarin and salicylic acid for the photochemical degradation of various fluorescent probes. To the evaluation of photocatalytic activity was used solid phase (photocatalyst) – liquid phase (probe) system and was used three sources of radiation. Fluorescence of oxidation products was monitored by the fiber spectrometer and a conventional cuvette fluorometer.
Photocatalytic properties of hybrid titania-silica layers
Zbořilová, Zdeňka ; Pekárková, Jana (referee) ; Dzik, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the preparation of hybrid titania-silica layers. Titanium tetraisopropoxide and tetraethyl orthosilicate with Levasil were used as the precursors for TiO2 and SiO2 synthesis, respectively. The layers were deposited on substrates by material printing. Furthermore, this work is focused on study of the photocatalytic activity of prepared titania/silica hybrid layers. Photocatalytic activity of prepared layers was studied by measuring the oxidation of 2,6-dichlorindofenolu, oxidative degradation of stearic acid and oxidation of terephthalic acid. The influence of hybrid layers number on the photocatalytic activity was investigated.
Study of titanium dioxide photocatalytic activity by fluorescence spectroscopy
Blašková, Martina ; Vala, Martin (referee) ; Dzik, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with principles and methodology of evaluation of photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide by fluorescence detection of hydroxyterephthalic acid and assessment of use this method in batch reactor. To the fluorescence study of activity we used hydroxyterephthalic acid as a primary product of oxidation terephthalic acid as a solution or in the form of immobilized layers. In the liquid phase we monitored fluorescence of hydroxyterephthalic acid by using a conventional fluorimeter and fiber spectrometer. In the solid state we monitored fluorescence of hydroxyterephthalic acid by spectrofluorometer with holder of solid samples.

The “Monkey Business” with Heterogeneous Photocatalysts
Klusoň, Petr ; Morozová, Magdalena ; Krystyník, Pavel ; Hejda, S. ; Krýsa, J.
In this study main misconceptions in the treatment of the heterogeneous photocatalytic data are summarized first. Then an illustrative case-study is reported. Finally the concept of dynamic active site is introduced as appropriate way to quantify correctly the essential parameter of the photocatalytic activity in the heterogeneous photocatalytic reaction.

Daněk, Ondřej ; Štengl, Václav ; Bakardjieva, Snejana ; Murafa, Nataliya ; Kalendová, A.

Strukturní závislost fotokatalytických vlastností oxidu wolframového
Domlátil, J. ; Brožek, Vlastimil ; Janča, J. ; Eliáš, M.
By decomposition of ammonia paratungstate in a radiofrequency generated oxygen or argon plasma, a series of specimens with the following stoichiometry were prepared: WO3, WO2.98, WO2.90 and WO2.82. The product structure was characterized by X-ray diffraction, oxygen content by the fussion extraction method (LECO) and TGA. Photocatalytic activity was determined by measuring the color change of spectrophotometric indicators.
Photocatalytic aktivity of plasma treated titanium precursors
Brožek, Vlastimil ; Matějíček, Jiří ; Šrank, Z. ; Mastný, L. ; Janča, J.
Photoactive solid parts of chemical reactors could be produced via plasma deposition of boron carbide and titanium diboride using water-stabilized plasma torch WSP. Photocatalytic effectivity of TiC and TiB2 was measured, as well as those of their oxidation products gained at 450 and 1000°C on air as well as at 450°C in oxygen plasma. Photocatalytic effectivity of all studied substances was compared with those of plasma- treated TiO2 and Ti2O3, whose photocatalytic activity is known from plenty of practical applications.
