Komparace demografického vývoje univerzitních měst

This bachelor thesis is focused on comparing the demographic development of university cities, particularly Brno, Prague and Olomouc. For the purposes of data evaluation, a ten-year interval (that is, 2003 -- 2012) was chosen. In terms of demographic statics, the population, mid-year population and its structure were mentioned according to age and sex. As far as demographic dynamics are concerned, rates of birth, death, abortion, marriage, divorce and migration (natural, migrational and the overall increase) were analyzed. On the basis of the past development analysis, the data was interspersed with a suitable trend function and a prediction for the years 2015 and 2016 was made.

The businesses operating on the market with souvenirs in Brno seems to be not taking the advantage of the market potential, therefore, the main aim of this final thesis is to formulate recommendations for potential entrepreneurs operating on the market with souvenirs in Brno. This work presents an analysis of current situation on this market and general analysis of consumer behaviour in souvenir buying, which was done through two questionnaires, both for Czech tourists and tourists from abroad (ncz = 161; nf = 188). These two analyses provided grounds for marketing mix recommendations for the Brno market with souvenirs.

Brownfields and Tourism Development - Visitors´ Preferences Exampled on Brno City

The article deals with issue of brownfields regeneration with special attention to brownfields redevelopment in tourism and leisure time activities. With connection to the theoretical discussion, there are presented the results of the field research with visit ors of the selected case study areas located on the territory pf Brno City (Czech Republic). The objective of this questionnaire survey was to identify the answer to the question how the new brownfield use in for tourism is perceived among visitors and ide ntify potential of the different types of brownfields from visitors ’ perspective. The results show the strong support for future housing utilisation, because regeneration of abandoned and neglected locations for housing needs was discussed among the visit ors the most intensively.
