Selected aspects of the beer choice in 2007

Within the continual project of monitoring the phenomenon of the beer in Czech society the topic of the choice of beer was surveyed in October 2007. The press release provides us with overall information about the preferences and consumption of beer categories like lager or dark beer in Czech Republic; about the criterions of the selection and about the status of non-alcoholic beer. The attention is paid also to economic aspects of the choice and to the development of selected aspects in Czech society since 2004.

Most of the Czechs (more than three fourths) believe that it is important to remind of their signification. Confidence of Czech citizens in political parties

In October 2007 within the regular survey CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i., questioned respondents about their confidence in political parties. In this month there was a question about their trust to ODS, ČSSD, KSČM, SZ and KDU-ČSL. Comparison with the results from previous surveys and sorting according to sociodemographic indicators are part of report as well.

Czechs and their opinion of quality of school education

CVVM in September survey investigated how Czech citizens evaluate the quality of education on all school levels. Part of press information is also comparison of actual results with findings from previous surveys. Then Czechs evaluated, which from the following characteristics (knowledge, independence, confidence, orientation in society, discipline, moral values) are best evolved by particular types of schools.

Confidence in Constitutional Institutions and Satisfaction with Political Situation in October 2007

In October 2007 within the regular survey CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i., questioned respondents about their confidence in constitutional institutions. In this month there was a question about their trust to Chambers of Parliament, Government, President, Local and Regional Councils. As a part of the CVVM surveys there is a question about public satisfaction with current political situation in the Czech Republic. The regular survey of public confidence in constitutional institutions and satisfaction with political situation help to monitor development of public attitudes in the long term.

Party Preferences and Voting Model in October 2007

In October survey CVVM investigated how people trust to political Parties and whether they are willing to take part in elections to Chamber of Deputies. In the press release there are two different types of information : Party preference and a model of voting behaviour. Party preferences give us information about public sympathy with political Parties in the group of citizens who have voting right and there is also included a part of citizens who will not take part in elections or they do not knot who to vote for. Voting model indicate anticipated result of elections to Chamber of Deputies in the time of the survey. Voting model comes out of Party preferences but it includes only those who want to take part in elections and they answered us a Party they would vote for – in short this group does not include undecided people and non – voters.

What is educational background influenced by?

In September survey approximately a two thirds of respondents expressed their opinion that everybody has a chance to get such education according to his or her abilities.. Then respondents had to answer a question, what circumstances and various facts influence educational background. Respondents often suppose human abilities and diligence to be important, when trying to get higher education. In other part of survey respondents had to talk about their own educational background. Czech citizens think that education helped them to get general knowledge and professional qualification, when most of them share this opinion.

Popularity of Top Politicians

In September 2007 CVVM SOÚ AV ČR investigated whether respondents trust to selected top politicians. They were given a list with 25 names of top politicians. In a survey there were included names of membres of Parliament, president, chairmen of Senate and Chamber of Deputies, leaders of political parties in Parliament, ombudsman and chief of Constitutional Court.
