The Man, Death and Other World in the Time of Baroque
DUDA, Zdeněk
The thesis deals the question of the last things of man, so the theme of the death, dying and imagines about the world and the other world, especially in the first and the second third of the 18th century in the South Bohemian town of Písek. The themes of the last things of man are studied on the example of two possible contemporary discourses, namely the semipopular and popular discours. The contemporary popular discours was constructed by the analysis of testaments of town people of Písek from the thirties of the 18th century, as the resources of the semipopular discours books ars moriendi and hymn-books were used. The world and the other world diffused especially in the time of the funeral; the almighty God was usually coming into the world through the death and the ritual of the funeral and manifested his fairness and grace. In the view of the popular discours the reality of baroque world was still confirmed and accepted by the funeral ceremonies again.
The social roles of HIV positive Tswanas in North West province, Republic of South Africa.
DOBROVOLNÁ, Pavla
In 2006 there were 39.5 million people around the world living with HIV/AIDS, of which more than 63.5% were in sub-Saharan Africa. The number of people infected by the HIV virus in the Republic of South Africa (RSA) in 2005 reached 5.54 million. The prevalence of HIV/AIDS varies in each South African province according to the socio-economic environment. The North West Province (NWP) is one of the nine provinces of RSA. In 2003 the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in NWP was 29.9%. Little attention has been paid to the care and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. Möller and Petr (2003) proved in their research, entitled ``Health related quality of life, HRQOL, of Tswana in North West Province, RSA{\crqq}, that the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS is worse than for the standard population. The aim of this work is, with the use of the HRQOL measuring concept in conjunction with its tool questionnaire SF-36, to determine whether there are any statistically significant differences in the fulfillment of the main social role between HIV positive Tswanas and the Oxford Healthy Life Survey, which is considered to be a standard population. The main social role for 6 out of 8 respondents was the parental one. The fulfillment of this role is negatively influenced by HIV/AIDS, particularly on an emotional level. The secondary aim of this work is to prove whether there are differences in the quality of life between the research group of this thesis, 2007, and the research group of Möller and Petr, 2003. The assessment of HRQOL showed that the quality of life of Tswanas with HIV/AIDS in 2007 is better than in 2003. This might be as a result of respondents{\crq} participation in a support group, as well as respondents working in their community as community health workers. Social contact has proved extremely useful in maintaining a good quality of life. This was also proved by a contact questionnaire, which was attached to the SF-36 questionnaire. The third aim of this thesis is to evaluate the care of people living with HIV/AIDS in RSA, in the period 2003 {--} 2007. The progress of care was determined by the secondary analysis of data, particularly for support groups, Home Community Based Care (HCBC), Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) {--} these support services play a very important role in the care system of people living with HIV/AIDS.

Training of the back at vertebrogenous patients
ZEISKOVÁ, Kateřina
The world statistics state that 80% of the population encounter pains in the back. These problems were accelerated by modern times, that thanks, to the technical comfort, brought to many people health troubles resulting from the lack of exercise. I chose the subject {\clqq} Training of the back`` because I work as physiotherapist and the people feeling pains in the back belong to my profession every day. I occupy myself with the given problems. Considering the present state of the given problems, I concentrated on the most important connection concerning the training of the back. First, I described the backbone as a part of the locomotory system. Another guideline that was interconnection of muscular groups of the back, chest, abdomen and of the pelvis, that build the muscular corset. I described locomotory stereotypes and disorders there of in particular relations. Integral part of the present state that is the origin of the pain, its cause, diagnosis and therapy. In the theoretical part I dealt with general principles as to the training of the back and with the importance of this training for the therapy of vertebrogenous patients. The aim of the work and of the research was to discover whether a change in locomotory stereotypes before and after therapy took place at patients with pains in lumbosacral part of the backbone and to propose for three different professions the therapy inclusive of necessary regiment measures. The hypothesis was proclaimed that the therapy including also the training of the back will bring about the change locomotory habits of the patients. Secondary analysis of data from health documentation in combination with directly watching the patents were used as technology of the research. The last form of the research is the questionnaire interviewing of the patients suffering from pains in the lumbosacral part of the backbone. It concerns an integral research with prevailing technologies of quantitative research. The basic check group, that are clients of the physiotherapeutical clinic, who suffer from back pains in the lumbosacral part of the backbone. 100 patients altogether underwent the therapy. They were given the same number of questionnaires. All of them were returned. Theoretical questionnaire investigation was under way from October 2007 to March 2008. I used diagrams in processing the collected data and show the results in percentages. I chose three different professions in the course of therapy, and that secretary, forester and student doing sport and I proposed for them the therapy of back pain, that included also the training of their backs and regimen measures as pain prevention. The proclaimed hypothesis was confirmed in connection with the aim of the work. The research work, I carried out, present analysis of particular locomotory stereotypes. The results showed that locomotory habits had been improved after the therapy in direction to psychology. If the patients observe the stereotypes, they learnt and continue the physiotherapy, I chose, and the part of which is also the training of the back, helped not only the patients themselves, but that it brought benefit for the whole physiotherapeutical clinic. The work will be exploited for organization of seminars on the given place of work.
The history of chemical wars
HORKÁ, Jana
Chemical weapons count among the weapons of mass destruction. In addition to chemical weapons, also nuclear and biological weapons belong here. Historically, chemical weapons rank among the oldest ones. Their initial steps were made in the distant past, even if they were not called so then. However, the initial utilization of chemical agents against human force is more connected with fire. It was used for protection against attacks of animals as well as people. Later on it was used to protect or capture towns and fortifications. The most extensive use of chemical weapons in war occurred during World War I. A large number of chemical substances was tested, the most important being phosgene. In 1917, German army used vesicant yperite near the town of Ypres. The development of chemical warfare agents continued also after the year 1918. During World War II, chemical weapons were practically not used. If it happened, then on the secondary fronts only. The main reason was the fear of possible retaliation. From 1939 to 1945, huge amounts of chemical warfare agents were made. Towards the end of the war this stockpile amounted to approximately 400 000 tonnes. After World War II, a new stage of chemical armament has begun. The greatest attention was concentrated on nerve agents, sarin, soman and agent VX. Chemical warfare agents have been further used also after the year 1945. In the not so distant past, Iraq used nerve-paralyzing agents and yperite during the Iran-Iraq War (1980 {--} 1988). Last but not least, the use of chemical warfare agents for terrorist purposes is to be mentioned. In January 1993, the global fight against chemical weapons culminated in signing of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction. Under this Convention, chemical weapons were to be liquidated until the year 2007. States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention which did not comply with this deadline have asked for prolongation of the final deadlines for chemical weapons liquidation until 29 April 2012. The question remains if even this prolongation will fulfil the goal of the Convention {--} to ensure a world without chemical weapons. Until the time when the stockpiles of chemical weapons are completely liquidated their possible misuse cannot be excluded. The states which have not joined the Convention as yet and own limited stockpiles of chemical weapons can use them.
The role of primar nurse in prevention of obezity by children
PULZOVÁ, Alena
Obesity is ranked among the grave world health problems and its prevalence is still increasing. Children's obesity presents dangerous problem not only in advanced countries of the world. The Czech Republic is in the first place in Europe in distribution of children{\crq}s obesity. The fight against this disease is not apparently so difficult. Mostly it is enough only change our lifestyle painlessly, meal plan and do some sport activity. People who suffer from obesity should make an appointment with their doctor and discuss it too. On the other hand, much easier is to predate this disease and exactly in this case is really important the role of a nurse. The theoretic part of this work is focused on the actual state of children{\crq}s obesity. The next part is about division of children age, nutrition at this age, definition of the obesity, its causes and complications. The last part is focused on the role of a nurse in prevention, diagnostic and treatment of this illness. It was applied the form of checklists to quantitative research. Questions were destined for nurses in the primer care in České Budějovice, Strakonice, Prachatice, Jindřichův Hradec, Písek and in other smaller towns. The first aim of this work was find out what awareness of nurses in the primer care in prevention of children{\crq}s obesity is. The next aim was find out if nurses are actively participant in prevention of children{\crq}s obesity. Both of these aims were discharged. The first hypothesis should testify the awareness of nurses in the primer care in prevention of children{\crq}s obesity. The second hypothesis should testify that nurses are not actively participant in prevention of children{\crq}s obesity. Both of these hypothesis were discharged either. I have chosen the work on the topic: ``The role of the primer nurse in prevention of children{\crq}s obesity{\crqq} because recently this topic is very actual and also I am very interested if nurses really try to predate this disease by children.

Reinhard Heydrich and Final Solution of the Czech Question
Vrabcová, Klára ; Rataj, Jan (advisor) ; Martínek, Miloslav (referee)
The person of Reinhard Heydrich was one of those fateful to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The first chapter of this paper attempts to prove that Heydrich's impact on the "Czech Question" is much greater than the eight months he spent in office as Deputy Reich Protector. It analyses different approaches to the solution of the Czech Question in Nazi plans and particularly, towards the end of the chapter, Heydrich's tendency towards one of these plans -- the memorandum of Secretary of State K. H. Frank. This memorandum anticipated two things: the temporary preservation of the Protectorate, the assimilation of people of suitable race and disposition and the expatriation of people of unsatisfactory race and of those opposing German rule. This thesis also attempts to prove that although Reinhard Heydrich planned the solution of Czech Question as a long-term process, the fulfilment of which could be considered only after a succesful war, he started the first steps already during the war. Great attention is given not only to his racial survey of the population, but also to his policy concerning Protectorate youth, who were meant to be caught up and reeducated within the Curatorium for the Education of Youth in Bohemia and Moravia. To ensure calm and economic health throughout the Protectorate, he applied his carrot-and-stick policy on the population. The occupation policy required a combination of short-term and long-term goals and application of the former to ensure the consequent accomplishment of the latter. The final chapter lays bare the reaction of the Czechoslovak foreign resistance to the situation in the Protectorate -- the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. This act was supposed to empower the Czech underground movement and improve the status of the exiled government among Allies. Even though this operation of the foreign resistance caused a torrent of arrests and executions within the Protectorate, its foremost effect was to draw the attention of the world and the Media and to excite Allied recognition for the Czech domestic resistance.
