Diploma thesis named Economic aspects of merger of companies describes the fusion process, its actors and their motivations, critical points of mergers. It also proposes various tools and criteria to assess success or failure of a given merger. The thesis is divided into research of literary sources and practical implementation of acquired knowledge. The former chapter -- research of literary sources -- describes the different stages of merger process and goes on to explain in greater detail various aspects which may relate to fusion of companies. The latter chapter which concerns practical implentation in case studies, identifies critical points of the process of merger, and proposes criteria of evaluation, which can be used to judge the success of the process of merger. In-depth analysis including success evaluation is provided in a case study of two different companies operating in different branches of business.

Productivity in the services sector in the Czech economy

This bachelor thesis deals with an analysis of labour and capital productivity in the tertiary sector (service sector) of the Czech economy. As well as analysis of productivity developments in individual industries and sectors in a national economy is made in this thesis. Calculations are based on Gross domestic product (GDP) in %. Pursuant to detected results of labour and capital productivity developments in the tertiary sector, the growth rate is found in labour productivity and capital productivity in commercial services, for which is assessed equal or different productivity developments. Furthermore, an assessment of dependence productivity development in the tertiary sector in comparison to overall development, which is made by a regression and correlation analysis.

The Swiss economy in the early 21st century

The bachelor thesis deals with the Swiss economy in the early 21st century. The economy of Switzerland is one of the most developed in the world, but recent events such as the eurozone debt crisis could threaten its position. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the current state of the Swiss economy, while defining the main sources of risks and predicting the future development of the Swiss economy. A significiant part of the thesis also focuses on the characteristics of each sector in Switzerland. The first chapter deals with the general characteristic of Switzerland and analysis of its current economy. The next chapter is focused on the sectors of economy, foreign trade and on the attitude of Switzerland to the issues of economic and politic integrations. The third part is devoted to the description of the prospects of the Swiss economy, within which I define the main sources of risks and suggest the measures to be taken to protect the Swiss economy from these risks. In this part I predict the future development of the Swiss economy, too.

Measuring productivity in the enterprise and at the regional level

The aim of the Diploma´s work was to explain the concept of corporate and regional productivity and possibility of evaluation. Furthermore to analyze the development of value added on the basis of the specific enterprise data and at the regional level. The theoretical part described the concept of productivity and factors of production. Then followed a description of the business concept of productivity, the possibility of evaluation and rating of regional productivity. In the practical part was characterized selected company. Followed economic data needed to calculate productivity at the enterprise level. The productivity was significantly affected by the economic crisis of 2009. Another part of work was devoted to evaluation of regional productivity. In the last section were compared corporate productivity and regional productivity in the years 2005 - 2011. The comparison showed that labor productivity in enterprise is on a lower level than the sector average. Conversely capital productivity was higher in the enterprise. Another finding was significant annual changes in enterprise productivity compared to the relatively stable of sector development.

Assessment of the financial situation of a specific company

This bachelor thesis is focused on financial analysis of company ZDM s.r.o. in years 2008 ? 2011. The chosen methods for financial analysis are: the analysis of absolute indicators, divided into horizontal and vertical, the ratio analysis, dealing with liquidity, activity, indebtedness of company and its profitability, the pyramidal system of indicators Du Pont and bankruptcy and also credibility models, were are chosen Tafler´s bankruptcy model and index of creditworthiness. Results are compered with the industry.

Financial analysis of wine-making cooperative Templar Wine Cellars of Čejkovice

Objective of this thesis is to evaluate financial health of wine-making cooparative Templar Wine Cellars of Čejkovice over the years 2006 -- 2011 at least 5 consecutive years. Theoretical part describes the purpose of financial analysis along with methods that I apply in practical part (absolute indicators, balance sheet rules, net working capital, Du Pont analysis, value and bankruptcy models, economic value added). In practical part, apart from the applications of the described metods is wine-making cooparative Templar Wine Cellars of Čejkovice also compared with the industry.
