Financial Mathematics in Czech Textbooks from the Marchets's Reform

RNDr. Martina Bečvářová, Ph.D. Abstract: The PhD thesis presents a comprehensive view of the development and the position of financial mathematics in Czech textbooks and collections particularly those used in high schools with consideration of the political situation in our country. The analysed period from 1908, i.e. from the Marchet's Reform, to the present is divided into five principal stages. In each stage textbooks covering financial mathematics instruction in all types of secondary schools are chosen. This shows the level and extent of the presentation, the complexity of the given tasks and problems and the way in which they are integrated into the textbooks or the syllabus, more precisely. At first the basic general characteristics of the textbooks are presented followed by a detailed description of partial topics of study which are then analysed thoroughly and mutually compared. The conclusions of the PhD thesis reflect the current situation of financial mathematics instruction and offer ways leading to the improvement in the level of financial literacy of our citizens. Title: Financial Literacy in Mathematics Abstract Bachelor thesis Financial Literacy in Mathematics deals with the computational aspects of the financial literacy of grammar school pupils. The first part focuses on the general concepts of financial literacy and financial mathematics and their mutual relationship. The second part is devoted to compiling the examples and exercises that can be used to enhance the level of financial literacy of junior secondary school pupils. Examples and exercises listed here respect the current mathematical knowledge of students of the elementary grades. Most of them are devoted to work with the money. Simulation of Complex Installment Schedule

The aim of this thesis is to examine relations from the field of financial mathematics concerning consumer and cash loans. Further objects of interest are various types of loan repaying, interest calculation and generating the installment schedule. The result of this mathemetical principles analysis is a complex simulator of installment schedule which was created for testing and configuration purposes in HCI company (Home Credit International).
Interactive applications in software Maple for teaching financial mathematics

The subject of this diploma thesis is to search for the possibilities of using the Maple program for teaching financial mathematics. The basis is to create the maplet, which allows to users to fully benefit from the the strength of CAS (computer algebra system) created by the division Maplesoft of the company Waterloo Inc., through a simple graphical user interface. Maplets provide all the necessary tools for the calculations, they are very illustrative and help students to better understand certain problem. Detailed evolution of the maplets from its development through possibilities to its creation is also important part of this diploma thesis.

This bachelor's thesis analyzes possibillities of using application Wolfram Alpha in financial mathematics. The work presents selected products created by Wolfram Research. Readers get to know the interface of Wolfram Alpha. Theoretical part of the work introduces the readers to the matters of financial mathematics. The work shows general use of Wolfram Alpha for financnial mathematics. Practical part deals with selected examples of financial mathematics and theirs solutions in Wolfram Alpha. Partial aim of this thesis is to create paper, which can be used as support for teachers of finan-cial mathematics.

21. Century is the age of information and new technologies. Data and information from finance world are essential to make the right decisions and staying focused. New technologies also enabled new types of financial operations. All these changes made the financial education and deeper understanding of finance with its new operations a must. This bachelor thesis is focusing on extending a financial literacy by engaging and interactive form. The base is focused on explaining the most important terms of financial mathematics with connection to the formulas used in Smart documents. Explanation of the software user interface aimed on creation of Smart documents further expands this topic. Inclusion of history and origins of the Maplesoft Company and development of Maple software from its roots till today to fulfills the big picture of this thesis.
Financial mathematic at secondary school

The aim of this work is to define financial literacy as one of the main themes of the contemporary world in relation to basic education and development of core competencies. Work summarizes the theoretical knowledge of literature, which converge the issue of financial mathematics and education of students in the selected areas. Simultaneously explore different options for care of pupils in mathematics at elementary school, describes the procedures and methods of work and does not avoid the specifics of working with gifted students or students with learning disabilities, particularly dyscalculia. Other chapters are devoted to practical knowledge. As part of the thesis project and a collection of worksheets, which could facilitate the work of teachers of mathematics, where teachers and other approbation (such as civic education), in which subjects there is a financial mathematics.
Časová hodnota peněz v účetnictví

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na přiblížení problematiky časové hodnoty peněz a jejího vykazování v účetnictví. Zdaleka nepostihuje všechny problémy a výskyty využití časové hodnoty peněz v účetnictví. Pohled na problematiku je koncipován z hlediska Mezinárodních standardů účetního výkaznictví IAS/IFRS. Práce ukazuje základní vzorce pro výpočty časové hodnoty peněz, možnosti výpočtů použitelných pro účetní praxi a příklady účtování účetních případů, kde je podle Mezinárodních standardů účetního výkaznictví přípustné, popřípadě nezbytné použití metody časové hodnoty. V práci jsou použity jednoduché konkrétní případy, které mají za cíl čtenáři osvětlit postup výpočtu a následné zaúčtování.
