Influence of the surface texturing of non-conformal surfaces at the friction coefficient
Pišťáček, Karel ; Náhlík, Luboš (referee) ; Koutný, Daniel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the influence of the surface texturing of non-conformal surfaces at the friction coefficient. In the work were made adjustment of experimental apparatus for measuring friction in the contact between ball and flat disk. Friction coefficient was calculated by the size of the torque on the ball, which was measured by the torque sensor. For recording and processing signal from the sensor was designed software that makes it possible to measure the coefficient of friction for selected conditions (loading of contact, speed of rubbing surfaces and rolling-sliding conditions). Experiments were carried out with smooth and textured ball, glass, and steel disc at different speeds and rolling-sliding conditions. To determine the effect of the influence of the surface texturing at the friction coefficient the size of the coefficient of friction of smooth and textured ball was compared. It was found that the microtexture of the friction coefficient has little effect.
Characteristic Piston Ring Failures and Their Corrective Methods
Orság, Josef ; Knotek, Jiří (referee) ; Raffai, Peter (advisor)
This Bachelor's thesis concerns the most common failures of piston rings. The first part of this thesis focuses on the design of a piston ring and on the load affecting it. The second part describes various kinds of lubrication. This section also shows, which lubrication states occur during operation of internal combustion engines. And final part is devoted to the most common failures of the piston rings and how to prevent them.
Friction components produced by rapid prototyping
Pečenka, Tomáš ; Škaroupka, David (referee) ; Omasta, Milan (advisor)
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to make an overview of use of additive technology for production of friction components. The first part is concerned on review of additive methods and type of materials. In the second section are situated applications of this technology for fabrication of friction components. The main goal of last part is research in area of tribology of parts manufactured by additive technology.
History of hip joint replacements
Kohout, Jiří ; Urban, Filip (referee) ; Vrbka, Martin (advisor)
In this bachelor´s thesis is solved problem of friction, lubrication, wear and history of hip replacement. History is described from the second half of 18th century and there was an effort to include every important milestones that affected development of the alloplastic of hip joint. Beside this development is also observed volume wear of hip joint. History of lubrication and friction is watched from first experiment, which measured these factors it means mid-20th century.
Surface Treatment Methods of ICE Piston Rings
Hora, Otakar ; Maršálek, Ondřej (referee) ; Raffai, Peter (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on surface treatments of piston rings. The first part focuses on piston rings in general and their operating status. The second part focuses on the materials and technologies, characteristics and properties of surface treatments of the working area of piston rings. The final part contains the comparison of currently used surface treatments of piston rings.
Reduction of Contact Pairs Friction Losses
Novotný, Marek ; Raffai, Peter (referee) ; Maršálek, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of mechanical efficiency of contact pairs in the crankshaft of the combustion engine. The introductory section focuses on the efficiency of the combustion engine as a whole. In addition, it describes the areas where mechanical losses primarily occur. The following chapters describe mechanism of friction losses, the main factors affecting their amount and the most modern ways to increase mechanical efficiency. In the closing chapter, some basic computing relations, describing the size of mechanical losses are listed. The aim of this thesis is to acquaint the reader with the importance of mechanical efficiency in the area of combustion engines.
Design of Tribometer for the Study of Wear Efects
Tatíček, Jiří ; Košťál, David (referee) ; Omasta, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is focused on design of tribometer to simulate wear real bodies and simultaneously to study the effect of wear on the lubricating film by using an optical interference method. In thesis are introduced the most widely used design of experimental equipments and on the basis of them are developed various design options. From them is subsequently selected the optimal variant. The output of this thesis are the production drawings.
Modern slide bearings
Lesák, Tomáš ; Raffai, Peter (referee) ; Maršálek, Ondřej (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is professional research dealing with an overview of slide bearings in current use and their advantages and disadvantages compared with ball and roller bearings. It also describes the design, manufacturing technology, materials used for the manufacture of plain bearings, their coatings types and lubrication which are important factors in the life of the bearings.
Reducing of Engine Mechanical Losses
Černohous, Tomáš ; Svída, David (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the mechanical losses in combustion engines and demonstrates methods and techniques for their detection. It also presents the modern trends in reducing mechanical losses.
Using of experimental apparatus Mini Traction Machine for study of frictional properties of lubricated and unlubricated contacts
Wilhelm, Pavel ; Ficza, Ildikó (referee) ; Vrbka, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on description of Mini-Traction Machine test rig. After the theoretical introduction to Tribology is first generally described the principle of measuring on the Mini-Traction Machine and then are described the individual accessories. Consequently the results of main experiments where Mini-Traction Machine test rig was used from all over the world are summarized. Individual experiments show the possibilities of applying Mini-Traction Machine when measuring the material tribological characteristics.
