Security of smartphones on the Android platform

This bachelor thesis focuses on security problems of smartphones, specifically on the Android Platform. The goal of the thesis is to introduce user to the history of the Android mobile operating system, what threats can users face and what are the possibilities of preventing those threats and ways to deal with their consequences. The theoretical first part is devoted to the history of the Android platform since the first public version in year 2008 to the latest version from March 20015. This section describes development of the platform, along with explanations of important innovations and features. The second part is focused on individual threats the Android users may encounter. This section contains an analysis of the various threats and the possible methods of preventing and dealing with the consequences along with recommendations for specific users groups. The third part contains an analysis of selected security application. This part contains a description and analysis of the functions together with recommendations on settings and evaluation of the application. The fourth part contains demonstration of abuse of mobile phone via USB debugging mode. In this example, the reader can learn about the risks of enabled debugging mode. The last fifth section contains description and results of a survey aimed at Android smartphone users.
Bitcoin point-of-sale terminal software development

The bachelor thesis describes the software development process of a fully working system of Bitcoin point-of-sale terminals for retail merchants, enabling them to start accepting this cryptocurrency as a means of payment. Author compares his work with existing solutions and explains the necessary background theory of the underlying technologies and certain peculiarities stemming from them. In the following chapters of the thesis, this foundation is used to actually implement and describe the final working solution, which is targeting the Java language platform, Android operating system and Spring web application framework.
The users' degree of knowledge about smartphone application permissions

This bachelor thesis is focused on application permissions in Android OS. Main purpose of this thesis is to determine the user's degree of knowledge about permissions in this system. The purpose was fulfilled thanks to a survey among selected users and evaluation of this survey. The benefit of this thesis is in presentation of the survey's results which describes the user's degree of knowledge about permissions. Bachelor thesis is divided into two sections. First section processes theoretical basis for the survey. The theoretical basis consist of brief characteristics of Android OS, definition of guiding principles for application security and description of selected permissions. Further in this section is explained the permission declaration for application from the developer's view and describes the application installation process and the permission approval dialog. First section ends with a definition of used methodic for survey. Second section presents the results of the survey and derives consequences from these results.
Comparison of cross-platform mobile development

This work deals with the development of cross-platform mobile applications and compares cross-platform development frameworks. First the mobile devices market is defined and its dominant platforms are described. The main objective is to compare the frameworks with defined criteria. The theoretical part analyzes the mobile market and defines the different types of mobile devices. Further, describes the various mobile platforms, including its architecture and de-velopment environment. Subsequently, the approaches to cross-platform development are described with their individual frameworks. In the practical part the selected frameworks are compared to defined criteria and subse-quently evaluated.

This work deals with communicating issues in public space from citizens to municipalities. The main objective is the creation of a system for reporting those issues using smartphone. The first chapter contains the analysis of existing foreign and domestic projects focused on issues mapping. The second chapter focuses on analysis and design of a new system. The third chapter discuses variants of technologies available for each part of the system. The fourth chapter describes choice of technologies and development of individual parts of the system.

Mobilní aplikace na kontrolu přítomnosti studentů na zkoušce v systému Android

This thesis describes the design and development of Android application to check for the presence of students at exam term. The constituent part of the thesis is the survey of czech universities' mobile applications. The objective of this work is to facilitate the examiner checking the presence of students during an exam term by partially automating this process using the created application. This application allows the examiner to check the identity of students on the term by scanning their ISIC cards. This leads to speed the process of check and the list of participating students is also digitized. This application has been tested in practice.

First of all this bachelor thesis determines users preferences by a questionnaire survey and use them during development of RSS reader for Android platform. Also marketing strategy for distributing the finished Android application will be based on the results of questionnaire survey. To obtain information that is not available through RSS feeds, will be designed and created API based on REST architecture. The main results are summarized in the conclusion of this thesis.

The goal of this diploma thesis is to design and create web portal about Android devices and to make the portal logo as well. The main part of the portal is public catalog of favourite applications and games, which can be managed by registered users. Other parts of the portal will be writing articles, adding advertisement to market, adding Android devices etc. In this thesis today Android portals will be analysed and identified user's specific needs.
