Universal linux server for small and medium companies enabling simple network control
Juřena, Stanislav ; Pust, Radim (referee) ; Burda, Karel (advisor)
The main object of this thesis was to design a computer network for small and medium companies which will be made among others from network server providing simple network control. The next task was to provide internet connection to subscribers of local area network, their security and access to common services. There had been discussed the choice of distribution of Linux operation system with regarding to demanded services, stability and long lasting operation in theoretical part. One part of the work is a theoretic preliminary to separate services, to the purpose of their using and to their weaknesses. The practical part deals with an installation and configuration of Debian operating system, launching the base services and the setting of selected monitoring programs.
Advanced methods of filtering network traffic in the Linux system
Peša, David ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Kacálek, Jan (advisor)
This master's thesis is meant to provide techniques in designing and building a standalone packet filtering firewall in Linux machines, mainly for small sites who don’t give much service to Internet users. It deals with attenuating the effect of the most common types of attacks using iptables. It guides how to design, implement, run, and maintain Firewall. Techniques for continuously monitoring attacks is attempted. It also give a historical, architectural and technical overview of firewalls and security attacks.
Market analysis of security software
Doležal, Ladislav ; Benáčanová, Helena (advisor) ; Řezníček, Dušan (referee)
In this thesis, I analyze the global supply of security software (for operating system Win-dows) with a focus on anti-virus programs, which currently mostly implicitly include vari-ous modules of security software. In the first part of my thesis, I will focus on the clarification of issues related to IS / IT se-curity and cybercrime. I describe here the security IS / IT in general, describes the basic concepts and information safety, so that readers gain a basic understanding of this issue. I explain the concept of cybercrime and characterize its main crime. The second part will focus on the clarification of issues relating to security and safety not only domestic, but also corporate computers. I further characterize the greatest threats of our time for PC users and the possibility of prevention. In the third part, I will analyze the security software market analysis due to their market shares and qualifying tests conducted by recognized independent organizations, so to currently provide their full offer. Using the survey I will find out what is the awareness on the selection and use of antivirus software, and on this basis determine what antivirus software are most popular by users.
Teaching of digital safety at the secondary and high school
ZELENKA, Jakub
This thesis deals with the issue of digital security at primary and secondary schools. This means first of all taking into account important aspects of computer security, such as protection of your equipment from dangerous viruses and pirate attacks with security software, the correct backup and manage their data. Furthermore, the focus on prudent behavior on the Internet, including caution against email threats, fraudulent behavior of some users and prudent use of social networks. It also provides password security with an emphasis on strong password management and also the issue of copyright law. The work included content analysis of Czech curricula given to the issue. They are listed here similar studies related to the topic of research theory and the main research of this thesis. In this research included a survey investigating the competence of students of the above schools in teaching computer security, the results are evaluated and compared with the findings of state documents related to the issue of teaching ICT.
IDS system SNORT
MAURIC, Jakub
This work deals with Intrusion Detection Systems. It divides them into categories and describes their functions. It describes examples of their using. It deals primary with IDS System Snort, content of them and with an example of their implementation into an existing system. This document will be used like a short compact manual which describes a necessary theory of Intrusion Detection Systems and possibilities of their practical using.
Monitoring network system SAVO
Papík, Martin ; Zajíček, Milan ; Vaníček, Petr
Target of this project is creating of the functional alert system for network attacks named SAVO (Secure AV Outbound). This system is dedicated for AV (Academy of Sciences of the Czech republic) network. Informations which obtained from monitoring (analysis) will be aviable for responsible ICT departments.
Opensource solution for small ISP
Vomáčko, Vít ; Palovský, Radomír (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Luboš (referee)
Focus of this work is to create a comprehensive look at open source solutions to enable small companies to make up their ISP routing infrastructure. Aims to explore the available alternatives for routing software and related services. Then describe the important features and characteristics which are taken from real operation of such a solution and analyze it in parts. Shows how to modify other standard Linux distribution to offer the necessary functionality. Describes the security mechanisms to prevent its further spread of the complexity of the system and degrade its performance. Outlining how to address the monitoring infrastructure as well as running services it provides to customers. It also tries to show which areas are not sufficiently operational and offers suggestions for further work in developing such a solution. Working mainly draws on the experience gained from long-term effort to launch the best solution, but do not tie the hands of its creators and allow colleagues to avoid various failures and shutdowns.
