Investment activites on asian sport betting markets
Šedý, Petr ; Musílek, Petr (advisor) ; Veselá, Jitka (referee)
This thesis was written in order to introduce relatively unknown investment activity. It shows basic principles of value betting and investment technique called "Asian handicap" which is used by the most of successful investors. These activities take place on Asian markets, that is why I describe processes and rules which are used there. The reader will be shown how professional analyst calculates his own fair odds. This is very important for his decision-making about investments. The practical part of the thesis covers activities of analysts during short (one week) and long (one year) period. Everything was registered, commented and put into context with theoretical facts. Results were evaluated too. This thesis offers different view on the activity which changed from pure gamble into new investment option.
Effect of seed tuber size on yield structure in potatoes
CHUCHEL, Jan
The thesis examined the effect of seed tuber size on the structure of the potato yield. In the one year trial ( 2011) four varieties were applied (Velox, Marabel, Adela, Laura) have been grown in the conventional system. The size of seed tubers were divided into three size fractions: A < 35 mm, B 35 to 60 mm and C > 60 mm. Number of plants per area and number of stems per plant were observed during the vegetation period. The number of tubers per stem and average weight per tuber were determined after harvest. Furthermore was also found total and market yield of tubers. The size of seed tubers most significantly influenced the number of stems per plant (of 93.9%) and the number of tubers per stem (of 80.5%). The resulting parameter values were highly influenced by the course of weather in 2011.
The influence of way and intensity of grassland exploitation on sward composition and crop yield
BARTOŠ, Ondrej
The aim of this work is to assess the influences of various methods of cultivating and making use of permanent grasslands in respect of their surface structure and productivity. At the same time we have to take into account the production and extra-production importance of permanent grasslands. That is affected by exploiting different pratotechnic methods (mowing, grazing, alternate ways of cultivation, absence of cultivation) which have an effect on the formation of vegetation structure of the grass growth. One of the consequent aspects is also fytocenologic and production characteristics of the grass growth. In the work there are also methods of assessment and classification of space types and the summary of the most widespread ones mentioned. The earning capability of various growth types and proper methods of their exploiting is also an important part of the work. Permanent grasslands are main component of fodder for livestock, and throught them we can make livestock farming more effective. For the best quality and profit of grasslands is necessary proper preparing a land, mainly by manuring and mulching. Well manured grasslands give higher crop yield than unmanured. Crop yield also dependson climatic conditions and soil qualities. Plant and grass biomass presents materials of identical origin, which can be used in various branches of agriculture and industry.Using appropriate pratotechnic procedures, corresponding with ecological and economical conditions, we can expect high-quality yield. Combination of mowing and grazing appears as the most convenient utilization of grasslands. Mulching is alternative and the cheapest way of farming on not used (by mowing or grazing) grasslands, because it prevents overgrowningUtilization of grasslands a grazings must be conected with enviromental protection and should be sustainable.
Energy using of biomasy from agriculture
ŠPAČEK, Zdeněk
This thesis deals with comparing the suitability of growing grass for energy use over the energy use of the residual agricultural biomass. The thesis includes characterization, agrotechnics, cultivation, harvesting and yield of each crop species and their comparison is shown in several graphic examples. According to the information gathered, maize and sorghum are the most suitable for the production of biogas, especially due to the amount of ?green mass? produced. The most useful for burning is Miscanthus, which is distinguished for its high dry mass yield, immunity to weeds, and the highest heating value and energy yield.
Analysis of Mutual Funds in Emerging Markets
ČUNÁT, Marek
In the thesis we are interested in the analysis of the Chapter 2 (Investments) is devoted to the detailed history of collective investment and to the basement of investment fund behaviour. We speek about the advantages and disadvantages of the investments to mutual funds and we shortly speak also about institutional protection of investors. To our case study, we have chosen mutual funds held by the CSOB Asset Management Company, and by the Franklin Templeton Investments. Both funds are investing on emerging markets of Latin America. In chapter 3 (Theoretical Basements) we start with explaining the terms used by the remaining parts of the thesis. We shortly speak about the net asset value and how it is employed, and continue with comparing various investments through p. a. measure. In the next part of the chapter we explain through the term of the net present value how to incorporate the influence of the inflation rate into comparing the gains. Chapter 4 (Analysis of Selected Funds) describes the behaviour of the one-shot and per regular basis investments, first on the longtime horizon from year 2001 to 2012. We conclude that on this long-term basis the one-shot investment acquire greater profit. Next we are describing situation of investments through the financial crisis in 2008 where the regular investments was definitely more efficient. Last studied case is the investment at the bottom of the crisis where the both investment concepts are evaluated as profitable, the one-shot one having of course better returns. In the last section of the chapter 4 we analyze the results of our computation, compare all investments cases at different phases of the market situation and conclude about their advantages and issues.

Poppy is one of the main and traditional crops in the Czech Republic. This work is directed at winter form of poppy marginally grown in the Czech Republic up to now. The aim of this work was summarized current kmowledge about characteristics and requirements of this crop, alert to differences in yield parameters, yields and qualitative characteristicts between spring and winter form of poppy, recommend on the basis of information in literature and experiences of growers suitable technology of winter poppy growing. There are available knowledges especially about characteristics, yield parameters and yield of Zeno 2002 variety. According to reached results of yield parameters from experiments in the Czech Republic, Winter poppy seems better than spring poppy.
Investments in Belarus
Hlushko, Alena ; Dvořáček, Jiří (advisor) ; Luzanová, Marianna (referee)
This thesis is dedicated to a very interesting topic - it is an investment activity. Investments are the basis of economic development and growth of living standards. Foreign investments are therefore a source for further economic growth. The author of this work focused on exploring investment in the country where she was born, it is Belarus. About the investment in that territory is not talked much, which could be caused by the local political situation. But Belarus is quite popular between Russian investors. The work is divided into several parts. The first part is theoretical and methodological, describes the general knowledge and concepts related to investment. In the practical part, the author describes the investment rules in Belarus and gives quite detailed information about the investment climate in the country. The thesis ends with an indication of practical recommendations for investment in Belarus.
Optimizing the use of agricultural areas - a case study
Jirků, Šárka ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Kalčevová, Jana (referee)
This study deals with analysis of the agricultural company layout. The utilization of agricultural areas is optimized with such a sowing technique that leads to the highest harvest profit. All these issues are being solved by the conversion to the linear programming model which is the most resembling to the combination of production planning and allocation problem. A case study is based on actual data given by Agrofarma Týnec, s.r.o. company. The 48 sections of field in different proportion are taken in consideration as well as five different crops. The study tries to deal with more options taking in account different trade prices of set commodities and a hectare sowing limitation. The main model anticipates pessimistic trade prices expectations and does not restrict hectare sowing with single crops. The model is followed by the price coefficient analysis that gives the price level to be kept to let the computed solution be optimal. Lingo13.0 was used as an optimization software.
Energetic usage of grasses
PROKEŠOVÁ, Markéta
Bachelor thesis is focused on effectiveness of targeted cultivation of selected species of grasses for energy purposes (Dactylis glomerata, Arrhenatherum elatius, Phalaris arundinacea). Work compares yields and suitability of selected species of grass growing for energy recovery. Furthermore, for each species of grass evaluates the best date harvesting for energy use direct combustion and biogasification based on the percentage of dry matter and the annual yield of dry matter. Input data used derived from experimentally observed data in the research field plots of perennial plants. Part of the thesis is to summarize the literature about other types of energy crops (Miscanthus sinensis Anderss, Rumex patientia, Populus L.,Zea mays)and compare with them the suitability grasses for growing to energy recovery on the basis of selected production capacity and energy parameters (dry matter yield, energy recovery, heat of combustion).
