Contribution to the productive characteristics of Siberian iris (Iris sibirica L.)
HOŘEJŠÍ, Edita
Monitoring of Iris sibirica populations was carried out in four localities in Tabor area in South Bohemia. At each locality two plant clusters were chosen. Measured characteristics were: number of stalks, height of the both 20 sterile and 10 fertile stalks, number of flowers and fruits per a shoot, number of seeds per a fruit, and timing of phenological phases. Phytocenological pictures, soil parameters as humidity, conductivity, temperature were obtained from all localities. The observations and measurements were carried out from May to August 2015. Iris sibirica grows in the meadows of the union Molinion. During the monitoring it was found, that the water level has an impact on the quality of populations. Locality at Turovec, which was most of the time flooded, had fewer larger clumps, less sterile and fertile stems and almost zero production of capsules, compared to other localities that were only slightly waterlogged. Collected seeds manifested no signs of viability (TTC test). All obtained data were discussed and some recommendations were formulated (longer-term monitoring, regular mowing in the late summer).

Why Deal With Modern Logistic and Production Premises?
Štěpánek, Martin
Logistic boom in Czech republic brought 3.61 milion square meters of modern storage space. They are facilities for the functioning of our contemporary global society. They are also a burden on the landscape, which we are trying to protect. How to deal with this paradox? It concerns us, architects and urban planners, the issue of logistics and industrial areas, which quickly surrounded our cities?

The impact of urban sprawl on the environment.
Havel, Petr ; Romportl, Dušan (referee) ; Chuman, Tomáš (advisor)
The suburbanization process - a shift of population and activities from city centre to its fringe - is not only a socioeconomical phenomenon; city spatial expansion is a serious concern for an environment as well. The volume of suburban and sprawling areas is constantly increasing, moreover the character of this development is inefficient both spatially and energetically. A crucial changes take place in a landscape, which is being fragmented and homogenized. Those changes affect organisms, which live in the landscape; their natural environment is intensively modified and not all of them are able to get used to a newly created conditions and resist to a pressure of invasive species. A lot of compacted and impervious surfaces negatively influence not only the biota, but also a water quality, infiltration and water regime. Last but not least, new development seals a lot of quality agricultural land. Sealed soils are irreversibly deteriorated and become useless for further agricultural use. Despite the fact, that legislative in the Czech Republic should protect the high-quality agricultural soils, the study, made in the surroundings of D1 highway shows that's not the case. Two thirds of the commercial suburban development take place on the most productive and valuable soils. This number suggests poor...

Household nutritional effects of the DICONSA food subsidy program
Dent, Felix ; Bauer, Michal (advisor) ; Janský, Petr (referee)
This thesis is an empirical research project assessing the household nutritional impact of the DICONSA food subsidy program in Mexico. By employing a combination of propensity score matching and OLS econometric approaches, I conduct an analysis of household survey data contained in La Encuesta Nacional de Ingresos y Gastos de los Hogares (ENIGH) from Mexico. I find strong evidence of a significant increase in household caloric intake in rural areas targeted by the program, driven primarily by increased consumption of DICONSA subsidised cereal products and corn grain in particular. I find no evidence of decreased caloric intake resulting from overriding income effects of subsidisation. However, my investigation into the specifics of participant household food expenditure data suggests that reselling of subsidised commodities may occur amongst poorer households.

Vliv stromů v městském prostředí na kvalitu ovzduší a teplotu okolí
Bajarová, Marta
Urban areas are beside other factors specific by its climate. The character of surfaces, which are in cities, contribute to formation of so called "urban heat island" -- especially in summer months cities are warmer than surrounding areas. Long lasting high temperatures have negative impact on human health. That is why the aim of this work was to find out what effects trees can have on the temperature of urban air and consequently on human health. The temperature was measured at four different locations: in the open area in a forest, in a small park, in a small alley and at a parking lot. The measurements have shown that the trees reduce air temperature and by that they contribute to the thermal comfort of the population. The positive impacts, which trees can bring to human health is the ability to reduce amount of solar radiation, to reduce air pollution and noise level. Trees also produce so called "biotically active substances". On the other hand, negative influence of the trees which should be considered, is pollen production, which may cause allergies for pollen sensitive individuals. In general, for human health the presence of trees in the urban areas is mostly positive.

Technology and Innovation Centre Telč
Rašovská, Michaela ; Štikar, Jaroslav (referee) ; Nový, Alois (advisor) ; Donaťáková, Dagmar (advisor)
The Bachelor's thesis address Technology and Innovation Centre Telč, designed for small and medium enterprises. The plot is located on the outskirts of the city, formerly used as arable land. The new zoning plant his area is intended for industrial construction. In the nearest surroundings there are several existing production companies and habitable housing. The proposed facility is composed of several rows of subsistence production units in two sizes, office building including with meals and building technical support area. The production unit consisting of two vertically different materials. The lower one with a background facilities and a second higher with a production hall and warehouse. The terrain is resolved and parking for employees. Entry of staff into the production of unity resolved separately from the supply. An important expressive element pulling is supporting skeletal structure above the roof of the lower mass object, which reduces the scale of buildings to better fit into the context of the city. Another element is perforated sheet which visually separates these two materials.

The conditions for formation and development of clusters in the food-processing industry in the South Bohemian region
ŘEZÁČOVÁ, Eva
Apart from definitions of clusters from various sources, the composition and practical functioning of a cluster had to be evaluated. Each cluster is composed of four basic elements first, a core of the cluster containing highly specialised geographically close companies operating in the given branch of industry, second, supporting businesses, i.e. specialists in their branch with links to the core of the cluster (such as banks, accountants, lawyers, forwarders, growers, etc,), third, the so-called soft infrastructure formed usually by public organisations such as universities, research institutions, parks, branch education, etc., and fourth, the technical infrastructure covering specialised establishments integrated into the cluster, state and private infrastucture. One of the answers to the question why clusters should be promoted is a list of advantages of a businness´s membership in a cluster. The advantages include access to information, a high level of communication between the members, cooperation, education and training opportunities, accessibility of consultancy, joint marketing, enhanced productivity, innovation and consequently, better competitiveness. In view of the aforesaid, benefits that might arise from the membership of universities and public institutions in clusters were analysed. The production of food products and drinks is a branch that is connected with agriculture. The following branches are the most significant from nine production branches, they recover almost 2/3 of production in the Czech republik (according to revenue): - Production of other food products {--} baker´s products and pastry, sugar, candy and others - Production of meat and meat products, inluding poultry - Production of drinks In surroundings of South-bohemia locality the structure of the significance in branches is different. These branches have a high part on economic activities in this branch: - Working and packing of fish and fish products - Milk production, production of milk products and ice cream - Production of feedstuffs Analyses shown were made from data obtained from the Czech Statistical Office and CzechInvest. Localization coefficient that is 1,426 is higher than 1 which means that the unemployment in food branch in the locality is higher than the average unemployment in the same branch in the Czech republic. This branch is significant for this locality and it is necessary to attend this and to envolve this.

Turistic Publicity and the final client groups
NOVÁKOVÁ, Lenka
The aim of this work is the analysis of travel agencies and their products, which are available to people living in České Budějovice and its environs. I have worked out a summary of different kinds of tourism and particular package tours, trips or excursions that are being offered within each of this kinds of tourism. Promotion used by every single travel agency has been studied throughout its web pages. This web pages are a medium for the communication between the customer and the agency. Anothers functions are to supply information about the company and its products as well as to mediate a buying of tour. The appearence of web pages are closely associated with the sort of tours, that are offered on them, and with the part of costumers that the trips are dedicated for.

Marketing research focused on golf packages and concessionary green fee in Czech Republic
Haberzettl, Pavel ; Vávra, Oldřich (advisor) ; Tahal, Radek (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse current situation on the market with golf packages and similar products, which contain cheaper price of entry to the golf course. Another goal is to find out why Czech golfers do not use this type of product together with accommodation. In theory-methodical part is a description of wide variety of influences affecting consumers during their shopping process, specific attributes of services and historical development of golf in the 20th century in Czech Republic, whose impact is there still present. Practical part contains deeper analysis of results from survey focused on segmentation of Czech golfers and their personal service structure preferences regarding golf packages or similar products. The interpretation of survey results is improved by interviews with managers of golf courses and one hotel, which is offering accommodation together with golf entries to surrounding golf courses. The collected data is compared with the same type of international surveys.

Development of microfluidic device for droplet generation and microparticle encapsulation
Křivánková, Jana ; Foret, František
Microfluidic devices combined with various bioanalytical and optical sensors proved\ntheir potential in chemical, biological, and biomedicine applications. At a droplet\nmicrofluidic device a fluid is divided into numerous droplets surrounded by a\ncontinuous immiscible fluid phase. Generated droplets serve then as\nvessels/microcapsules for delivering drugs, nutrients as well as for encapsulating of\nbiologically active particles and cells.\nDescribed experimental study deals with the development of a practical dropletbased\nmicrofluidic chip useful for production of monodisperse water/oil emulsion and\nfor encapsulation of thin-metal magnetic microsheets.
