Coupling and speed of convergence of discrete MCMC algorithms.
Kalaš, Martin ; Prokešová, Michaela (advisor) ; Dvořák, Jiří (referee)
Convergence of the marginal distribution of a Markov chain to its stationary distribution is an essential property of this model with many applications in different fields of modern mathematics. Such typical applications are for example the Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithms, which are useful for sampling from complicated probability distributions. A crucial point for usefulness of such algorithms is the so called mixing time of corresponding Markov chain, i.e. the number of steps the chain has to make for the difference between its current marginal distribution and stationary distribution to be sufficiently small. The main goal of this thesis is to describe a method for estimation of the mixing time based on a probability technique called coupling. In the first part we collect some definitions and propositions to show how the method works. Later the method is demonstrated on several traditional examples of Markov chains including e.g. random walk on a graph. In the end we study Metropolis chain on the set of proper colorings of a graph as a specific example of MCMC algorithm and show how to estimate its mixing time.

Syntactic priming of comprehension in Czech
Smolík, Filip
An experiment investigated the influence of repeating grammatical structures on sentence processing, particularly on reading speed. Czech-speaking adults were examined.

Analysis of transport noise device on the transport environment.
KDOLSKÝ, Tomáš
This thesis contains the noise analysis of transport vehicles as cars, trucks, cargo sets, busses and motorcycles in relation of the kind of the transport environment, but also on the character of the transport routes. There are very important factors here and namely the kind of passing vehicles, the number of passing vehicles, the speed of the vehicles, weather conditions, road surface and road condition. Following to this analysis there is a summary of the results detected, which is mainly focused on the level of noise emissions in the individual measuring places. Afterwards, there are suggested ways of appropriate noise reduction. The object of this work is the pointing out potential excessive noise suggesting some possibilities of its removal at the measured places.

Modelování lavinového ohrožení na území CHKO Jeseníky pomocí metod DPZ a GIS
Školoud, Libor
This diploma thesis presents a comparison of the accuracy level of elevation data and 3D elevation countours and digital relief model 5. generation. These data are used in modeling of avalanche danger Velke Kotliny on the territory of CHKO Jeseniky. In ArcGIS 10.2 software model calculations are performed of break off zones using two equations, resulting in potential break off zones. The equation is based on the same basis, but it differs in approach of their authors inclusion of horizontal and vertical curvature of the terrain. Furthermore, the equations are different with their assigned values of individual variables, which may result in changing the source data and the associated change in details and accuracy. This facet follows modeling of avalanche paths in RAMMS software (Rapid Mass Movement System), wherein the input data are crucial for simulation of individual avalanches. Distinguishing of input date significantly affects the accuracy of the simulation of avalanche paths and calculating thier final values (pressure, speed, snow depth) in individual section of their paths.

Control and synchronization drive unit of leg of walking robot
Houška, P. ; Březina, Tomáš ; Singule, V.
The contribution explores several approaches in control and synchronization of leg drives. It further deals with the selection of suitable trajectory for the movement of leg end point. Kinematics of walking robot leg movement is essentially influenced by used drive units and its control. The speed of leg endpoint relocation and amount of energy consumed in particular movements depends mainly on the drive control. Leg control is proposed in such way that the leg can be considered as independent system.

The influence of packaging on the microbiological status of meat.
KOURKOVÁ, Dita
This thesis examines the influence of packaging on the microbial condition of beef for sale. The beef - Muscullus semimembranosus - was studied in an unpackaged state, and in the packaging of stretchable plastic wrap, in multilayer polyamide - polyethylene (PA / PE) wrap using a protective atmosphere and using 80% of vacuum into a bag from a multi-layered PA / PE wrap. The beef was stored at refrigerated temperature of +5 ° C. The total number of microorganisms (the number of colony forming units) were examined for 27 days. The compared samples show that the speed of increasing number of microorganisms is dependent on the type of packaging. According to the observed averages the best results are showed at meat packaged into a modified atmosphere and vacuum packaging, where there were no significant differences between these two types. Statistically there were no sigificant differences between the observed types of packaging. Packing in plastic wrap reduced microbial contamination of meat compared to unpackaged meat, but with vacuum packaging and modified atmosphere it could not be compared.

Charakteristika psů a způsobu jejich vedení na procházkách se svými majiteli
Odstrčilová, Marie
The aim of bachelor thesis was to study the factors that can affect the speed of movement of owners and their dogs on walks. Observations were made at selected locations in Brno. Totally, 647 dogs with their owners were observed. Owners with their dogs walked most frequently. Owners with medium dogs mostly ran. The body weight of owners had an effect on the weight of their dogs. Most owners had their dogs on a leash. The most common manifestation of the specific behavior of the owner was jerking by the leash. In conclusion, dogs have an impact on the physical activity of their owners.

The exercise of the Army reservists within the labour market.
ŠPÁNIKOVÁ, Jana
The professionalization of the Czech Army increases the number of soldiers in active service and then, of course, the number of reserve soldiers who are entering the job market in order to find new suitable jobs, to use their knowledge and experience gained in the previous service and to start a new professional career. As a professional soldier who, for the last six years, has been working to help soldiers leaving their active service, I have decided to map the success of reserve soldiers in the labour market, the speed of their orientation and their adaptation to the conditions of a competitive labour market, their feelings when experiencing unemployment, the effectiveness of retraining courses that are offered to the soldiers leaving their active service by the Army of the Czech Republic, and the role of employment offices played in the entrance of reserve soldiers to the labour market. The theoretical part of the thesis therefore describes active military service, service of professional soldiers and the status of reserve soldiers, but also the labour market and its functioning but with the emphasis on its imbalances causing unemployment. To meet the objectives of the practical research, I chose a qualitative method of data collection, i.e. uncontrolled observation, questioning through interviews and document analysis. The research group consisted of reserve soldiers who left their active military service between 2001 and 2010. They had worked in Army Unit 3517 in Bechyně. The conclusions of this thesis can be used both in planning and organizing retraining courses provided by the Czech Army to soldiers leaving their active military service, as well as in practice of employment offices when working with the unemployed reserve soldiers.
