Religious studies at selected grammar schools- abstract Lucie Schneiderová 2013 Abstract: This bachelor thesis Religious studies at selected grammar schools analyzes Framework education programme for secondary general education (grammar school) in relation to religious studies. Thesis analyse school education programmes: Gymnázium Nymburk, Gymnázium Na Pražačce and Arcibiskupské gymnázium in relation to issues relating to religious studies. The practical part, carried out using a questionnaire survey focuses on students opinions on religion education and its benefits. Benefits from studying religion can be expressed in the way how students understand subject matter, attitude towards new religious movements and concept of evil.
Stalinist Period in Czechoslovakia - Its Interpretation and Teaching in Secondary Education

1950s may be classified as one of the worst periods in Czechoslovakia's history. The totalitarian communist regime in the period between 1948 and 1953 is called the Stalinism. The primary objective hereof was to evaluate teaching about the Stalinism period in Czechoslovakia in secondary schools, in particular, to assess the scope of correctness and completeness of the related curriculum and teaching methods. The secondary objective hereof was to introduce and describe the Stalinism as a typical example of totalitarianism and to define crucial elements of this non-democratic form of government using the example of Czechoslovakia from 1948 to 1953. The thesis proceeds from the theoretical part via a case study to the practical part. The first part classifies totalitarianism, defines its historical outset and determines its main features. The second chapter describes and explains the Stalinism, which is a typical example of totalitarianism having functioned in practice in the Soviet Union from where it spread to the majority of the Communist countries, including Czechoslovakia. The third chapter explains the practical application of the Stalinism elements and methods used to control a society according to the Soviet model using the example of Czechoslovakia from 1948 to 1953. Teacher of humanities in contemporary school and society

The thesis is focused on the role of teachers of social subjects in contemporary schools and society. The opening chapter deals with the specifics of the teaching profession and current issues that are in relationship with teacher. In this thesis, emphasis is placed on the analysis of teacher's pedagogical approach to teaching. One of the most important part of this work are interviews with teachers of civics and the social sciences and inspection of classes. Using interviews, observation and study of literature, I outlined the opportunities and challenges which are offered to civics and the social sciences teachers. The practical outcome of this thesis is to propose the model of teaching of social-education seminars for the fourth year of gymnasium.
