Ekologie rysa ostrovida (Lynx lynx) a vlka obecného (Canis lupus) v oblasti Západních Karpat a jejich význam v lesním ekosystému
Kutal, Miroslav
The abundance and population density of the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) were studied during two winters 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 in the in Beskydy and Kysuce protected landscape areas in the West Carpathians in the Czech-Slovak borderline. A combination of camera trapping, photographic capture-mark-recapture (CMR) and simultaneously conducted snow tracking revealed 11 independent lynx in both seasons in the total area of 1500 km2 and overall population density of 0.7 lynx/100 km2. High population turnover of 54.5% was documented between the two winters, indicating a strong anthropogenic pressure at the edge of the West Carpathian population. The main prey of Eurasian lynx in winter was a roe deer (81%) and red deer (16%). The occurrence of wolves (Canis lupus) was considered to be sporadic and probably limited to only a few individuals. The nearest reproductive packs were documented at a distance of 10--50 km from the Czech border in the Slovak Carpathians.

In this area have the beast has a unique occurrence. The work also brings information about the factors that influence the relationship between the sheep and the incidence in the Czech Republic and in Europe. The work contains findings that were obtained from farmers on the basis of completed questionnaires. Breeders show a positive attitude towards predators in this area. Don't have a problem with the fact that the population expanded further, understand the role of beasts in our landscape as the lesnícch health care professionals and their presence
Monitoring velkých šelem (Lynx lynx, Canis lupus, Ursus arctos) a odhad jejich početnost ve vybraných oblastech západních Karpat
Greguš, Štefan
This bachelor thesis describes the monitoring of large carnivores in Western Carpathians. The actual monitoring began in November 2012 and continued until April 2014. The explored monitoring territory covers the area from NP Malá Fatra over the PLA Beskydy up to the boundaries of Vizovické Hills and the White Carpathians. During the monitoring were recorded the residence marks of large carnivores. Attention was paid mainly to lynx (Lynx lynx) and other carnivores such as, brown bear (Ursus arctos) and wolf (Canis lupus). Last two carnivores do not have permanent population in Czech republic and it is difficult to find their residential characters. Further was compared the usage of migration corridors in the area of Lidečko and Střelná by the large mammal animals. Finally by the usage of photo traps the threeyear old lynx male called "Olda" territory was successfully mapped.
