Efficiency improvement proposal of machining specific components of pneumatic cylinders
Židlický, Ondřej ; Chladil, Josef (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
This Master thesis aims to increase the effectivity of the machining of pneumatic cylinders specific components. In the first chapter, the concurrent approach to the manufacture of corrosion resistant austenitic piston rod. This approach consists of the technological procedure, the analysis of the cutting tools used in the process and the cutting conditions. The machining process deals with low durability of cutting tools and the necessity of continual supervision by the operator. Therefore, an alternate design of cutting tools and cutting conditions is suggested in the next chapter. The new design has been tested in manufacture process. In the last chapter, the concurrent and the innovative approach are compared. By choosing the proper cutting tools and cutting conditions it was managed to increase the durability of cutting tools and to increase the effectivity of the whole manufacture process.
Effective Machining Of Fiber Reinforced Composite Materials
Sedláček, Jan ; Janáč, Alexander (referee) ; Vrba, Vladimír (referee) ; Klement, Josef (referee) ; Humár, Anton (advisor)
The objectives for this dissertation are to push forward the current state of knowledge in the area of machining fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP). The most common machining operation performed on these materials is drilling owing to the need for component assembly in mechanical pieces and structures. Among the defects caused by drilling, delamination appears as to be of the most critical and may occur at both the entrance and exit plane. A number of theoretical and experimental studies have been made to create an analytical model of delamination in composite laminates. In this dissertation, the critical thrust force (force which initiates the delamination) is predicted using linear elastic fracture mechanics - assuming Mode I. Delamination is investigated by studying the evolution of feed force and torque applied by the tool on the workpiece. A four components piezoelectric dynamometer KISTLER 9272 with special PC-software is used for measuring and evaluating of torque and cutting forces, when drilling two different composite materials: carbon/epoxy laminate fabricated by hand lay-up technique and glass/polyester composite made by pultrusion. Wear mechanisms and location of the wear on the tool are also investigated (with respect to cutting material). The tool wear is measured with help of a common workshop microscope and recorded with scanning electron microscope PHILIPS XL30. Drilling experiments are performed to give complex technical information (i.e. cutting conditions, tool geometry, tool wear and so on) which enables efficient machining of composite materials. Delamination-free drilling is given special emphasis in the experiments. Methods of statistical analysis (DOE) are used to determine which factors have the most influence on delamination.
Machining of Ni80TiAl alloy detail
Kudrna, Miloš ; Novák, Zdeněk (referee) ; Humár, Anton (advisor)
The master`s thesis deal with analysis of machining technology of the bolt from the superalloy Ni80TiAl for the company Sanborn a.s. The aim of the thesis is the project of new technology by usage of new tool, indexable inserts and cutting conditions. The results are speedup of the roughing operation, reduction of the manufacturing cost and the product price.
Influence of cutting conditions on durability of cutting inserts during turning
Hynčica, Vojtěch ; Fiala, Zdeněk (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
The aim of present thesis is to determine the influence of the cutting conditions (the cutting speed, the feed, the depth of cut) on wear and durability of cutting inserts during machining process of the Inconel 718 alloy. In theoretical part thesis describes technology of turning, cemented carbides, their production and coating; it also deal with how the wear of the tool arises and how the tool wear progresses. In experimental part of this thesis we describe the cutting material, the machine, the machine tool and the experiment procedures. Measured values showed, that the durability of cutting inserts decreases depending on the cutting speed. We have determined that there is no direct correlation between the tool wear and the (increasing) level of the feed and the depth cut.
Productive Machining of Titanium Alloys
Čejka, Libor ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to analyze the production costs and optimize cutting conditions for high-feed face milling of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V. In the experiment were changed cutting conditions, such as cutting speed vc and feed speed vf. During the experiment were checked cutting forces by dynamometr. Furthermore, surface roughness and tool wear is observed.
Technological and economical parameters of a cutting tool
Drda, David ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Prokop, Jaroslav (advisor)
Aim master´s thesis is analyzed technological and economical parameters of cutting tool. Firstly there are the parameters cutting tool, cutting wear, economical parameters and costs on running tools specified. In the conclusion there are reach technological and economical parameters of cutting tools analyzed and tested on practical sample. The sample is part of attachments in form programme on calculation in Excel, together with evaluation by means of graphs.
Optimization of the production process of a precision machined part
Kolomý, Štěpán ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This master‘s thesis deals with optimization of cutting conditions when machining of precise parts in mass production. In experimental part of this thesis is a comparison of the roughing tool with indexable cutting inserts with the new implemented milling cutter. Tool wear of both roughing tools has been analysed. The surface roughness analysis after machining with the face milling cutter was performed. The output of this work is to obtain optimal cutting conditions to gain a minimum surface roughness.

Tomis, Jan ; Kouřil, Karel (referee) ; Binder, Martin (advisor)
Analysis of tool life tests of indexable insert APKX1505PDER-M by company Pramet Tools Ltd., focused to examination of the influence of Cutting Edge Radius on Tool life. Determination the best size of Honing Cutting Edge for maximum Tool life.
Verification of surface roughness and recommended cutting conditions after milling using tool with inserts
Novotný, Vojtěch ; Fiala, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
My bachelor’s thesis aims at practical testing inserts. The first part includes a theoretical analysis of problems connected with main tested parts. Especially, there is a description of face milling, surface structure after face milling and wear of the cutting tool. Next, an experiment is designed and performed, describing the machine used, the cutting tool, inserts, cutting conditions, material for testing and basic experiment criteria. In last part results of the test are presented and optimal value for cutting speed.
Machining processes in furniture industry
Černý, Marek ; Kalivoda, Milan (referee) ; Chladil, Josef (advisor)
This master thesis deals with machining processes in the furniture industry. Various group of materials, which are used in furniture industry are described there. Then there are described assembly and machining processes, such as manual and machine. In practical part, the production process for the selected sample product was proposed. The production was performed in a specific company, which has suitable machinery and tools. Sample product was made from double-sided laminated medium density fibreboard, which belongs to the group of wood-based materials. As a part of the debugging produciton process, the dependence tool life at cutting speed was experimentaly found. The experiment was performed on CNC milling machine with cutting speeds in the range 453 to 905 m.min-1, width draft of cutting edge 9,5 mm and feed per tooth 0,05 mm. Analog passametr Somet with an accuracy 0,001 mm was used to measure tool wear. The measured data were recorded and evaluated in program Excel. The resulting dependency tool life at cutting speed can be used in other machining operations. After performing the experiment, each parts of the product were produced and mountig was performed. The conclusion of the thesis contains an evaluation of the proposed production process.
