Sexual asistence in social discourse
TICHOVOVÁ, Veronika
This bachelors thesis focuses on attitude of posters on the internet discussion forum www.idnes.cz to the subject of sexual assistance. The thesis is divided in two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part concerns sexuality of disabled persons and necessity of sexual education that is still not sufficient. In this part I also define sexual assistance as such and it's introduction in the Czech Republic. In the practical part I describe metodology of the actual research, I interpret and present the results of the research investigation. Concerning the goal of this bachelors thesis and specificity of researched area I applied qualitative research strategy. I also used secondary analysis of documents as a research method. The Goal of this bachelors thesis is to analyse the attitudes of posters on the internet discussion forum www.idnes.cz to articles about sexual assistance. From the above mentioned goal of the thesis I determined following questions: Is attitude of posters to the sexual assistance negative? Are sexual assistants considered to be prostitutes? Research for this bachelors thesis took place from January 2017 to March 2017. I have been selecting those posts from the website www.idnes .cz, that were situated below articles regarding sexual assistance and were suitable for my research investigation. The research investigation reaveled that there were five most common categories of opinions. Most common opinion category was that sexual assistants are prostitutes. Following categories were: oponents, supporters, unavailability due to high price and doubters. Another important finding was that even though sexual assistance is current issue awereness of broad public is insufficient and distorted which is to a large extend caused by making taboo of the sexual assistance. This bachelors thesis can be used as a material for further research or source of information for the broad public.

This bachelor´s thesis aims to illuminate the issue of sexual life of disabled people by means of opinions of students from South Bohemia Region. The goal of this study was to examine various attitudes, views and opinions on sexuality of disabled people and to find out if students are informed about this issue. The theoretical part characterizes disability in details and defines it according to the International Classification of Functioning, Dissability and Health (ICF). Further on, it deals with the term of sexuality and sexual education within disabled people. Sexual and intimate assistance is also discussed in this bachelor´s thesis. Consequently, it identifies what does a sexual assistant do and what rules to know and keep. The research was carried out by means of qualitative research strategy such as questioning and semi-structured interview. The analyzed data were recorded into charts. For the purposes of this bachelor´s thesis eight students from South Bohemia Region were chosen coincidentally. This study was motivated by the following research question: What are the differences in attitudes of chosen people on sexuality of disabled people? The results showed that the majority of questioned students were informed about what disability means. A lot of respondents agreed that disabled people have a sexual life, however, it differs from the kind and degree of disability. Student´s opinion on the question of maternity and parenthood was also influenced by the kind and degree of disability. A lot of respondents didn´t have any problems with the fact that disabled people can be parents. The fundamental difference in opinions of chosen students was pointed out when questioning the issue of sexual assistance. Some respondents associated this service with prostitution or with something what shouldn´t appear in our society. Sexual assistance is really topical nowadays, however, there are still people who know nothing about it and therefore additional examination and promotion of this issue is crucial. This study can be used as the basis for further reserch or as a source of information for the general public.
