Role of social worker in a hospital

The diploma thesis is focused on the main activities of the social workers at the hospitals in Prague, the regional hospitals, and one former district hospital. Within the theoretical section of the abstract there are clearly defined fundamental concepts of social work in health care and its historical transformation. The chapters consist of four sections: ethics code, the quality of social work at the hospital, valid legislation, as well as interdisciplinary collaboration within the hospital. The theoretical part focuses on job description, competencies, skills or personality characteristics of the social worker in the hospital. The last section describes social work in the hospitals by different target groups with whom the social workers can come into contact. The empirical part of this diploma thesis is acquired by the semistructured interviews. The main research question tries to find out the role of the social worker at the hospital. The research targets three surveyed areas: The first examines the qualification skills of the social worker at the hospital. The second refers to the job description of the social worker at the hospital's core business activities. Community Care about People with Mental Disorder

This thesis focuses on a community care of people with a mental disorder. The topic of the bachelor thesis deals with social workers and organizations who provide this care and people who use it. The aim of this thesis is to map the social and health services for people with mental disorder including its continuity and to create a concept of these services for people above 18 years of age and above in the district of České Budějovice according to the development plan of social services České Budějovice. I focused on the types of services which are in district of České Budějovice and its linking and the function of community care within. This information was focused on mainly in the practical part of the thesis. In the theoretical part, I focused on the meaning of community service, the development and focus, next subjects were mental disorders and its typology and the quality of the patients lives. The file was worked out by a quantitative research method, using survey questionnaires and half-standardized interview with informants. Informants were chosen by purpose quota choice. The evaluation was classified by cluster method and the diagrams, graphs, charts were made and based on the information I had obtained and subsequently described. The solution provides a detailed overview of frequency and linking of the organizations in the district of České Budějovice. This overview contains processed health and social services which the mentally disordered people are provided by. I focused on an importance of the role of a social worker in my research and I broke it down and typified it in the charts. I also created a SWOT analysis of a community service, its strong and weak sides and also opportunities and risks based on all data obtained from informants. The output of the research is a lack of health services for people with mental disorder and a huge scale of social services. Next finding was that the organizations enquired have provided these services for a long time and they have been cooperating together. The system is tight and the climate is very positive.
The conditions of acceptance and review of applicants to a social service retirement home

The thesis discusses the conditions of admission assessment of the applicants to a social service home for the elderly . This work compares how 35 selected services home for the elderly provided by the selection of new user requirements with respect to their procedure. The thesis explains the sub concepts such as old age, quality of life, the role of the family in relation to the elderly, social work with the elderly , social service home for the elderly , the role of social worker. The research part consists of an analysis of requests for provision of social services , their attachments and general legislative documents relating to the provision of social services and the selection of a new applicant. Work also focuses on the registration of social services . Last but not least is about ethical aspects related to the selection of a new user.
Elitism in Social Work by Social Workers

The topic of elitism was not yet to this day described in Czech professional literature. In the theoretical part of this Bachelor thesis, the most important topics, related to the social work and elitism, are summed up. The goal of the thesis was to identify elitism in social work in the viewpoint of the social workers. The research was targeted to the concept of prestige of particular target groups and form of social work, and to reveal the factors affecting them. The research was conducted qualitatively, using the method of questioning, by the technique of half-structured interview.
Ethical dilemmas of social workers working with victim of domestic violence

The thesis deals with the topic of ethical dilemmas of social workers who meet the victims of domestic violence in their practice. The thesis is theoretical in nature, supplemented with research. The first chapter is devoted to the topic of domestic violence, it especially describes specifics of social work with the target group and points to the possible causes of formation of the dilemmas when working with clients. The second part of the diploma theses shortly defines the concept of ethical dilemma and its place in the social work practise. There are also mentioned examples of possible dilemmas in social work. In this part the final theses draws particularly from the authors L. Musil, S. Banks, D. Nedělníková and M. Nečasová. Major part of the second chapter occupies with concrete ethical dilemmas that relate to social work with victims of domestic violence and with their detailed description. The ethic dilemmas were identified on the basis of research made with eight social workers. A semi-structured interview completed by observation was chosen as the method. The last chapter introduces the ethical theories of deontology, utilitarianism and care ethics. It points to the importance and benefit of ethical theories for practise of social work in general and for social workers themselves. Two chosen ethical dilemmas, identified on the basis of research, are reflected from a position of ethical approaches mentioned above.
Battered, Abused and Neglected Children as social problem

The theory will be developed with the basic concepts chapters on the selected topic. Equipment will be introduced in the Czech Republic to help battered, abused and neglected children, and access and the role of social worker on the issue of child battered, abuse and neglect. The practical part will be listed by case reports of cases of battered, abuse and neglect, which I collected in my completed practice. Using the table of comparison of results will be listed case reports.
