Heat pump for air-condition
Potočník, Petr ; Katolický, Jaroslav (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This thesis consists in the basic division of heat pumps. Namely, it is focused on heat pumps for air-condition. It describes useful types of heat pumps for both heating and refrigerating, explains their function and presents their advatages, disadvantages. The work also discusses adaptation of heating systems for adequate and effective utilization of this equipement. Finally, the work introduces particular representatives of heat pumps for air-condition.
Prediction of surface tension of binary mixtures with the parachor method
Němec, Tomáš
The parachor method for the estimation of the surface tension of binary mixtures is modified by considering temperature-dependent values of the parachor parameters. The temperature dependence is calcu- lated by a least-squares fit of pure-solvent surface tension data to the binary parachor equation utilizing the Peng-Robinson equation of state for the calculation of equilibrium densities. A very good agreement between experimental binary surface tension data and the predictions of the modified parachor method are found for the case of the mixtures of carbon dioxide and butane, benzene, and cyclohexane, respectively. The surface tension is also predicted for three refrigerant mixtures, i.e. propane, isobutane, and chlorodifluoromethane, with carbon dioxide.
Nucleation rate in binary cavitating systems - A comparison of experimental data and classical nucleation theory predictions
Němec, Tomáš
A brief review of recent literature on proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) modelling is presented and the governing equations of the transport processes in the proton exchange membrane are presented. Consequently, the model of water transport in the membrane electrode assembly of a fuel cell in commercial software FLUENT is investigated. The aim of this work is to test the possibilities of the PEMFC modelling using FLUENT. Special attention is given to the water management and the properties of the fuel cell membrane.of four binary mixtures, i.e. diethylether - nitrogen, propane - carbon dioxide, isobutane - carbon dioxide, and chlorodifluoromethane - carbon dioxide. The predictions of the classical nucleation theory show very good agreement with the measured nucleation rates.
