Analysis of structure of watertower

The work deals with design of load-bearing structure of watertower. The solution include design and assessment of all main parts of watertower according to ČSN EN 1992 in the ultimate limit state and the serviceability limit state (crack limitation).
Reconstruction of the road bridge near the village Holýšov

The thesis deals with design of strengthening of existing bridge structure near the village Holýšov using modern method of additional presstresing. The bridge over the river of Radbuza is h-shaped beam bridge, which was built in 1924. In the present state its load capacity is under the limits for bridges situated on first-class roads. Original documentation of the bridge does not exist, the main source of information about construction details is the diagnostics research. The method of reinforcement by post-tensioning by cables in substituted cable ducts is highly efective in terms of the incerease the load capacity of existing bridge structure. The design of strengthening and the final load capacity was verified by static calculation.
Diagnostic and Reconstruction Design of Brick Building in Medlice

Master’s thesis deals with diagnostics and reconstruction of neo-gothic chapel in Medlice. Summary of appropriate testing methods for this chapel is compiled. Visual examination of whole structure have been performed by diagnostics. Masonry element strength was found out at specimens which had were taken out from structure (drill cores and whole bricks). Masonry elements also was tested by Schmidt hammer LB. Mortar was tested by Kucera’s drill. Masonry strength required for static calculation was computed from achieved values. After examination of all structure defects have been designed reconstruction by post-tensioning.
Prestressed road bridge in Staré Město

The thesis focuses on design of superstructure of concrete bridge, which passes a roadway across the river Krupa in the town of Stare Mesto. It is a simple span structure with length of 19 meters. For further elaboration, post-tensioned concrete slab with trapezoidal-shaped cross section was chosen. Assessment of serviceability limit states and ultimate limit states according to recent European standards (Eurocodes) was made. Furthermore, a design of post-tension according to former Czech technical standards (CSN) was studied. The thesis includes technical drawings and visualization.
