Multiculturalism in the USA

The objective of this Bachelor thesis is to map out the historical development of multiculturalism in the USA and to deal with the current issues of this phenomenon. For instance, this thesis deals with the process of hispanization in the USA or with the so called affirmative action in the American society. The first part of this thesis explains the term multiculturalism in theory. The second part focuses on the history of the USA and their milestones connected with the development of multiculturalism. The third part is focused on the current issues of the multicultural society in the USA. The conclusion of this thesis summarizes the main points that are essential for the understanding of the studied matter and these findings are subsequently evaluated. The last part also offers a prognosis of the possible future development of the multicultural society in the USA.

The Ethical Heritage of The Holocaust Education in Projects of KreBul o.s.

Thesis concerns about ethical heritage of the holocaust education in projects which are realized by KreBul, o.s. In theoretical part, the multicultural education and of present world was chracterized as a world of meeting different cultures; it is focused on the issue of the Jewish genocide in World War II. In the second stage of theoretical part, there are introduced particular activities of KreBul, o.s., which are oriented on the holocaust education in the spirit of multicultural enlightenment. Perception and understanding of events linked with the holocaust with a focus on the classification of lectural activities is considered in practical part of the thesis. Viewpoint of young people on the theme of the holocaust is gained by interpretation and analysis of individual answers of respondents; particulary the ethical viewpoint on education about events from the end of World War II and perception of some ethical categories (evil, suffering).

Ethical Values of Pluralism

The thesis is focused on the analyse of postmodernism, especially its center {--} pluralism. The aim of this thesis is to valorize its meaning from the view of ethic and to show, that pluralism is inescapable and it is positive situation, because it helps to evolve freedom of people and make it possible to self-determination. First chapter is introduction to postmodern philosophy and postmodern society. Second chapter theoreticaly entertains pluralism, describes its functioning, its demands and apologizes it from critics. Third chapter illustrates some concrete examples of pluralism. Theme of last chapter is freedom and what positive brings pluralism to her. In conclusion is resume and apology of positive gains of pluralism.

The relationship Czech majority and national minorities in the region of South Bohemia

Práce se zabývá zkoumáním problematiky národnostních menšin v kontextu Jihočeského kraje. Vychází ze skutečnosti, že současná společnost čelí problémům, které jsou historicky dané a navíc, které jsou způsobené imigrací. Vychází z rozsáhlého výzkumu, který byl proveden v Jihočeském kraji a který zkoumal jednak vztahy většinové populace k národnostním menšinám, na druhou stranu také věnoval i vztahům menšin k většinové populaci. Nabízí návrh koncepce Jihočeského kraje ve vztahu k národnostním menšinám. Je přínosná především z hlediska možnosti praktické aplikace získaných poznatků, ale může posloužit jako základ pro další analýzu dané problematiky, jednak v kontextu Jihočeského kraje, ale také na obecnější úrovni.
